Let me be clear — the Blue Heron itself is an incredible place to stay, and I would absolutely recommend it. There are many different owners and rental options, and the property itself continues to be somewhere I truly enjoy.However, I would strongly recommend not renting through this particular company.Communication was extremely poor. They did not respond to emails, messages, or requests for help. Even when serious issues were reported, nothing was done. We notified them that the refrigerator was not working, and despite being told, no one addressed it or followed up.Cleanliness and maintenance were major concerns. The unit was not properly cleaned, and there was visible mold and mildew around windows, bathrooms, and doors, which is a clear health issue.Most concerning was the furnace and air exchanger. The filter was the wrong size and did not fit properly, meaning the air in the unit was not being filtered at all. Based on the dust buildup, this had clearly been an issue for a long time, raising serious concerns about air quality.The overall condition of the unit was poor. Floors were cracking and broken, and multiple maintenance issues were ignored.The Blue Heron is still a place I would recommend — just be sure to book through a different owner or rental company that actually maintains their units and responds to guests.
