Charming 3/2.5 Cottage in Mirror Lake Near Downtown!!!

Beautifully decorated 3 bedroom 2.5 bath in Mirror Lake. This charming home has great outdoor living in a comfortable setting. Enjoy a cozy night by the indoor fireplace, on the porch, or outside in an adirondack by the lovely outdoor firepit. Walk to town or to Mirror Lake and enjoy all Highlands has to offer.

Pet friendly with a $295 fee. You must select that you are bringing a pet when booking and include the pet type and weight in the booking request.

Grill, firepit, comfortable porch, woodburning fireplace in the living room, indoor and outdoor tv, walk to town, the list goes on! Come enjoy all Highlands has to offer.

Very kid friendly property with a great bunkroom and fun outdoor area to explore! Multiple waterfalls are a short drive away.

Plenty of parking. 2 separate parking areas and street parking at the lot next door can accommodate 4-6 cars total.

2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths are upstairs. The master and master bath are downstairs.

Please note bedding configuration-VRBO makes owner put maximum sleeps number. 10 people is tight especially if no kids but some people do it.

All new bedding and mattresses that are extremely comfortable. The living area offers plenty of comfortable seating as does the quaint outdoor porch.

The house was dark and musty smelling. Did not have comfortable furniture. The house did not have any accessories ie: no lighter for the fireplace, no salt pepper, etc. Will not stay there again.

Precious place! We had a wonderful time and loved all the detail in this home! The fireplace was wonderful! We all would end our day with a fire and a movie! Would stay there again and would highly recommend! The porch was sweet too! Sitting listening to the rain was perfect!! Close proximity to everything! The host Drew is awesome and was always quick to respond! Love this home!!

Great location. Clean, quaint mountain home. The manager was quick to respond to my questions. However, this is an old house with lots of deferred maintenance, extension cords everywhere and missing smoke detectors. Only 1 working smoke detector in the house, we found one smoke detector on the porch in a bowl of water. You cannot walk to town from this house, as mentioned in the VRBO description, unless you want to risk your life. No cable TV, so plan to sign in to your subscriptions. Also, TV remotes were all in a bowl in the living room. We had to figure out which remote went where. Never found a remote for the TV on the screened porch. Also, the coffee pot is not the one shown on VRBO, it is a tiny 6 cup coffee maker. I don’t like to give bad reviews, but I would have wanted to know these things before I booked.

Charming Location, Mixed Impressions

We recently stayed at this cute cabin tucked away in one of the Highlands’ most coveted neighborhoods. The surroundings were serene, and the location alone earns high marks for peace and proximity to town and other sights, such as hiking trails.Inside, the cabin offered a generally pleasant experience, but the value didn’t quite match the cost. Echoing prior reviews that the converted basement “main” bedroom, bath (without shower) and closet, while spacious, had a musty odor that detracted from it. I would recommend that the owner keep the minisplit running down there and dehumidify the closet. The top of the carpeted stairs to the basement bedroom was separating and frayed.The cabin has good bones, but I was left with the impression that it was a quick renovation to allow maximum rentals. Guests might find the cost hard to justify unless prioritizing location over polish.

4th of July Weekend

Great stay—shower in basement is a tub with handheld shower so difficulty actually showering but if you don’t have multiple people showering at similar times on the trip you will be fine. Road to get to the cabin is very narrow and windy but neighborhood is very cute!

The house was clean and had some really cute pieces to it. All in all the stay was great. We had five girls so the tiny coffee pot was sort of annoying. We had to keep making pots in the morning. Also, the downstairs was a little humid feeling so if that’s an issue For anyone, know that. We had a great time and enjoyed the back porch, the gardens and the large den to visit for my girl trip.

Great Highlands Getaway

Great house and family-friendly for our 2-year-old. Location is only a 7-8 minute drive from Main Street/downtown Highlands. The host was quick to respond and proactive. Highly recommend!

Wonderful!!!

We came to Highlands for the HFAW Festival and love staying on Mirror Lake. This home was everything we wanted for our 11 day stay. The location is wonderful and only a 2 minute drive to town. We felt very safe driving up to the cabin. We loved the cozy den and the fire pit outside. The beds are very comfortable. We will be back for sure!

The perfect Highlands getaway!

We loved everything about our time here. The house feels like it’s built into the mountain and is surrounded by the trees. The screened in porch, the comfy couches, and the prime location were highlights. Hope to come back with friends and/or family! Big fan.

Peaceful getaway

The best things about this property are the screened porch and the fire pit. There were two of us and our dog and the cottage felt very small. We did not use the downstairs bedroom as the stairs were very narrow and steep and there was a musty smell. The area around the cottage was lovely and parking was great.

Great mountain home!

This mountain home was perfect for our girls weekend in Highlands! There was a twin bed pictured in the listing, that was not there when we arrived, but we worked it out. There was dust/cobwebs in some areas, and trash left on the beams in the living room, but overall it was clean and felt very safe. The kitchen was a little small, depending on the size of your party, but this was a perfect place to stay if you are planning to be out and about. Downtown was only a 5 minute drive!

Great stay!

Great house and great location! We’ll be back for sure! Incredibly clean and well supplied. We had a small issue in the beginning but Drew was quick to respond and all was resolved within the hour. Can’t wait to enjoy it again.
