This is a 1st floor Beach inspired Studio unit with 2 Full Size Beds, kitchen and living. The updated grey and white kitchen has granite counter tops, new appliances including a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffee pot etc. The modern kitchen is also fully equipped with any necessary cookware for your culinary needs. There is a dining table for 2 which can also be used to play games at. The navy wicker loveseat and 2 accent chairs can be arranged to watch the wall mounted TV or just to relax and entertain with guests. There are two Full beds, nightstand and a chest for your beach attire and a full bathroom to accommodate all. Step outside to the private patio and enjoy your morning coffee in the ocean breeze while listening to the waves on the other side of the dunes. Located near downtown Port Aransas, the golf course, shopping, beach access and restaurants. Amenities include: TV, wireless internet, access to Charcoal BBQ pits and picnic areas, laundry facilities, 2 boardwalks and 2 Shared Community Pools.

Wonderful spot close to the beach!

This place is located conveniently right next to the boardwalk down to the beach! Communication with the property manager was great, place was clean, and A/C works well.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be on the beach in Port A!Owners might want to look at making the sliding door that leads to the beach a little easier to open.....

Great Coastal Getaway

Great place, perfect for a weekend, accessibility to the beach is the best on the property. Short walk to pool. Adequate parking, clean space, secure and safe property. We absolutely enjoyed our stay!

Great beach getaway!

My husband and two teenagers stayed here for a weekend getaway to the beach. It was a perfect location to the beach...just a small path away! The beds were a tad too firm, but otherwise the stay was great. We loved our stay and will be back again.

Great Stay, right on the Beach

My wife and I stayed the weekend at this place for our 14th Wedding Anniversary and had a great stay. The unit is close to the beach, the pool and town. It was perfect! We also met the owner who was very nice.

Great location, cute decor, decently clean (kitchen sink needed a good scrub and no stoppers/drain catchers in any of the sinks or tub, also broom left was broken and difficult to use to remove sand). Overall we enjoyed our stay but feel full beds are not for 4 adults ( we were 3 petite ladies and struggled) There is also a water restriction happening that prevented outdoor shower or rinsing stations from being available - understandable BUT no notification was given so we could prepare for this.

Awesome Condo for Vacation

My family and I loved staying here for our vacation. Clean and quiet place in a great location. The boardwalk to the beach is just out the back door and it is a short walk down to the water. The condo has everything you need for a great vacation and the air conditioner is ice cold. We will be back next summer!

Just what we needed

The place was exactly what we wanted and needed! We have two kids under four and having a kitchen for breakfast and lunch was great. We were on the ground floor so it was easy for the kids to play in the grass and easy access to the beach!

Easy access to beach

It was a 3 day two night stay. The unit was super clean. A great little crash pad with great beach access and a pool right across the parking lot. The AC unit leaked a bit of water, and one bed creaked a lot. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again! A great experience.

A very nice stay

We were here for a short trip to the beach with our kids. It was more than adequate for our needs. They provided more than the bare minimum of supplies like towels and soap and toilet paper. The location was perfect for the beach, right at the start of the boardwalk across the dunes! My main complaint is the overwhelming flood of emails, VRBO messages, and text messages after making the booking! Way too many messages to have to read and ensure I didn't miss anything! They need to streamline that somehow.

Wonderful Stay

I absolutely loved the condo! It had everything you could need! The location was great right next to board walk out the back door and pool across the parking lot out the front door! My son accidentally shut the door with my phone inside and the front desk was able to contact the owner and get us back inside quick! The property was great with plenty of things to do and everything near by! I would definitely recommend and will be booking again!

Great stay

Great location, the boardwalk to the beach is right in the back, the pool right in the front laundry and trash very close. We loved our stay with 2 adults and 2 kids under 4. Only thing that could be better would be the stuff they give you. Bring your own beach towels, toilet paper. The dishwasher was not working properly. There was no trash bags and there was trash from previous people left behind couch and under bed (food). The apartment was perfect for 4 people. Truly enjoy our stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is conveniently located, close to town but not too close, and several yards from the boardwalk and outdoor shower. We enjoyed having a view of the dunes and ocean rather than the backs of other condos, which is one of the things we like most about this older and less densely developed resort. Like many of the units, this one was completely renovated after the hurricane. A few minor issues were quickly resolved by management.

It was okay…

I’m used to a condo being spacious and welcome equipped. The kitchen wasn’t stocked with the normal everyday utensils, so I bought some and left them there for the future guests. It was small. It was cramped even for 4 people. It should be listed as a hotel room because that was what it felt like. A small hotel room. Life in paradise customer service was awful as well, as a side note.

After looking through our communication with you, I do not see any record of you calling or emailing us with any issues. If I overlooked anything, I do apologize. Good but with a few not so goods

Island Retreat is a great location to stay. The buildings don’t look like much from the front but it’s the back facing the beach that you care about and that is perfection! I will list some good points about this specific unit and some not good points. None of the not good points on their own is a deal breaker but when you put them all together it made for a less than perfect stay and I will probably seek about another unit/owner for my next stay. Good: * Location-the view from the patio is perfection with nothing but dunes between you and the water. The first floor unit makes it very easy to get your beach items out the door and ready to go. * Decor-the beach theme of this unit is really attractive. The blue walls and bedding is perfect. *Upgraded cabinets and fixtures in the kitchen in bath are clean and modern. Not so Good: *despite an earlier text promising to provide me the door code at check in I did not receive one and after check-in time I had to first text and then call before I received the code 30 minutes after check-in time. *zero unit information in their app, inside the unit regarding WiFi password. I had to text for it. *beds are extremely firm and the one closest to the window has springs that can be felt. The sheets are extremely scratchy to the point that I slept on top of the bedspread using a blanket I had brought with me. *the bathtub has a very slow drain-the kind that has taken a very long time to develop without being maintained. I was ankle deep in water and stopped the shower 2-3 times to let a bit drain out. *black mold on the a/c vents that I took the time to wipe clean-not sure why housekeeping hadn’t thought to do the same.

The property itself is in an amazing location. The boardwalk to get to the beach is literally right outside the back porch. It’s a very clean property with easy access and the decor is cheesy but really cute and well placed throughout. We didn’t have much trouble finding parking - in fact we parked right in front of the unit many times - but that’s probably because we stayed Sunday - Wednesday in April. Now a lot of people mention the beds being VERY uncomfortable and the sheets were scratchy and I will have to agree with that. They are full size mattresses that are VERY hard and can hardly comfortably sleep 2 adults on one. I would suggest that the owner/managers of the property invest in at least 1/2 inch mattress toppers as that would make all the difference. Another thing that wasn’t explicitly stated on the description was the fact that you had to download another app (Happy Stays) and pay the initial AND the remaining balance through that app or by calling them. I was under the assumption everything would be handled through VRBO automatically but that was not the case. You will receive an email from the company that manages the unit with some information - but mine went to my spam folder so make sure you look out for that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which allowed us to refresh ourselves It was a beautiful, clean and safe location and a beautiful time of year to go. The location is PRIME as the center of town was not too far away and the beach access was literally walking out the doors. Would definitely recommend the unit and stay there again but I strongly hope they update the mattresses or even add a topper for a bit more comfort and add a bit more clarity as to the booking process. Anniversary Trip

We had our original trip to Colorado Springs cancelled on Monday morning - I was able to book this property Monday afternoon and we arrived Tuesday. We were even able to check in early and enjoyed the location. We were really close to the beach and walked there to see the sunrise every morning. They were preparing for Sandfest (happening this weekend), so we had to walk around the fence. Everything was great. We would love to stay there again - it was quiet and close to everything.
