We absolutely loved our stay. The house was amazing and the kitchen was stocked over and above!! The view was very nice with multiple sitting areas that accommodated our group so well. We enjoyed the kayaks, the paddle boards and the boat dock! We would love to stay here again in the future. Amazing!

We enjoyed our stay at The Gathering Place. The pictures are accurate representations and the outdoor space is really wonderful. In general though this felt more like someone's 2nd home that is VRBO'd vs. some of the other options we have stayed at that were designed as vacation rentals.Location is great on a quieter part of the lake as well and only about 10 minutes into kingsland

Family Reunion

The home is very clean. Great communication with the host. We love the water equipment that was available to us to use. Very spacious for all of us 13 people.

Great location for boating

We stay every summer on LBJ, this was one of the best vacation homes we have stayed at. Great location to jet ski and boat. We had 5 kids ranging from 8-16 years stay at the house and when we weren’t boating they were swinging off the dock rock or playing ping pong. Owner was available to answer questions quickly. We will be back next year.

The Gathering Place is such a beautiful property with amazing amenities. We had 16 people, mostly adults, and we felt there was still plenty of space for all of us. Our kids (9,11, teens and adult kids) all 'lived' on the enormous upper dock. We watched an evening storm from the beautiful master bedroom screened porch. It was so peaceful and pleasant. The host was attentive and accommodating. We easily will book this property again in the future.

Beautiful Weekend on the Lake

Find a stretch of time that should have good weather and enjoy it with others here. Was basically summer weather in October for us and perfect water. Fantastic dock and outdoor area overall plus a house with plenty amenities.

The best equipped house I’ve ever rented

As the date approached we received a very detailed document from the host/owner, with everything you might possibly want to know. He also texted several times to confirm we were in and found everything to our liking. The kitchen: incredibly well equipped. You don’t need to bring anything but your own food. The outside: this is where you will be the whole time. Two screened in porches as well as a covered deck over the dock. Our family loved the floating lily pad and the swing from upper deck into the water. The outside kitchen was very useful for drinks, snacks, and food preparation. Two large picnic tables there provide shaded area with seating for everyone, as well as chairs and lounge chairs. There is cornhole to play on the large flat gated front yard, and ping pong on the expansive downstairs screened in porch. The game closet has many games that the host has listed on the information they send you. I would say the only negatives are that the ice maker in frig did not keep up and we had to get ice several times. We were also lucky there were no tenants in the condos right next door; although the neighborhood does have a 10 pm quiet time. After being outside all day, none of us came close to making it until 10 pm! A wonderful family bonding experience for us all.

Amazing Place On The Water

The outdoor photos don't do justice to how great that space is. With the help of the chefs in our party we prepared amazing meals with the outdoor cooking equipment and fed an army. Plenty of space to lounge indoor and out. Lots of easy access water toys to enjoy the river. Don't skip the rope swing.

Better Than Advertised!!

Our family of 14 (grandparents, adult children and grandchildren) love our time together on vacations and this location served us very well! The accommodations were excellent, the generous supply of dishes and appliances were easily able to keep up with our many meals, the high quality towels and linens exceeded our expectations, and the equipment (kayaks, paddle boards, and many life jackets) was top notch and met all our needs. The facilities were very well maintained and the owner could not have been more responsive and accommodating! Did we love it? You bet! And many family memories were created. Highly recommended!

My Husband's 60th Birthday- Family Celebration

We booked this wonderful place for my husband's 60th birthday celebration. Our four children, their kids, and our parents joined us. Everyone- ages 13 months to 89 years old- had a wonderful time! The host thought of everything. We hope to be back!

We had a large party and this place had plenty of room (including sleeping room) for our group. The outdoor fire pit was fantastic for evening gatherings, but our favorite area was by the deck! The kitchen/living room was spacious and it never felt small. We had to contact them for small things and they responded right away!

Great Gathering

Owner was excellent to work with, and made sure we had a great stay. Excellent with the details (sharp, quality knives for example). Lots of space inside and out. The dock and patio are especially nice. We had 9 adults and one infant, with plenty of space, kitchen gear, games, etc
