The cabin is located just 3 miles south of Grand Lake, only a 5 minute drive into town. Venture into Rocky Mountain National Park, located just 5 minutes away or be at the slopes in Winter Park in just 35 minutes!
The cabin features a big yard with an outdoor fire pit and seating that may be used in the summer/fall (typically May-October) when there are not burn bans. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom with a walk in shower. The living room features a TV with access to Hulu & Netflix. The cabin is stocked with all of the essentials you should need during your stay including basic toiletries, towels, linens, and cookware. There is also a small beverage station featuring coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Two parking spaces are available in front of the cabin. If you plan on bringing a boat/trailer, please inform us ahead of time so we can accommodate a parking space nearby for you.
Things to note: Because of the cabin`s easy access to roads, this cabin will not offer absolute silence and seclusion and may not be the place for you. The cabin is located right off of the highway, so you will hear highway noises during your stay. We provide ear plugs for you if you are sensitive to the noise at night. In winter, this proximity is appreciated by guests because of the snow and plowed roads. Like most mountain homes in this area, there is also proximity to neighbors.
The cabin has a key-less entry lock. A code will be provided upon booking.
We recommend having a car to get around during your trip. There is phenomenal hiking, wildlife, skiing, and hot springs all within a 30 minute drive of the cabin!
If you are travelling during the winter months, December through March, we highly recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle so that you don`t have any issues getting over the pass. Winter weather can start as early as October and go as late as May. Please check the weather and plan ahead!
For severe weather, we do have a strict cancellation policy as defined by Airbnb. However, we are sensitive to those traveling in the mountains when the weather is capable of shutting down the roads. If highways are closed due to severe weather, we will provide at minimum a partial refund for the night(s) affected by closed roads. If the highways are open, the remaining nights will still be charged full price. Typically, roads are not closed for more than 24 hours at a time.
There is a $300 deposit for the cabin. It is not charged to you upon booking, only reserved in the case of damage or theft. If something gets damaged or broken, please let us know and we will figure out a solution.
**There are two main routes into Grand Lake if you are coming from the East. The quickest way is to take I-70 to Berthoud Pass. Denver to Grand Lake is a 2 hour drive. The second route, over Trail Ridge Road through RMNP is more scenic and costs $25/car. If you drive from Denver, over Trail Ridge Road and into Grand Lake it is about a 3 hour drive. **Please note that Trail Ridge Road is closed throughout the winter as most of the road is above treeline. Please visit https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/road_status.htm to check daily closures of the road.
Please note that if you cancel a booked reservation, and it is within the timeframe for a full refund, you will receive the refund minus the credit card processing fee of 2.9%.

Points faibles : Propreté
The cabin is excellent and the host was very responsive. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because there was a miscommunication and the cleaners didn’t come before our stay, so we had to make the beds and buy towels to use for the visit. But the owners gave a partial refund and were very helpful about the situation. Other than that, a great cabin with great hosts! Would recommend.

Cute Little Cabin
It was a great little get away spot. While up there we got to walk through the town, go sledding, and walk on the frozen over lake. The cabin was very clean and perfect for our few days. The bathroom floors are heated. We had some trouble with the wood burning stove but nothing too bad. We had a great time! The only thing is that it is the first cabin right off the highway which made it a little daunting. Traffic wasn't too bad because we were there in the winter.

If you expect to get what they advertise, DO NOT STAY HERE! If you expect them to address the many inadequacies you bring to the "host's" attention during your short stay here, if attention to detail is important to you, if you expect to have both beds in working order & don't intend to be told by the host to just sleep on the sketchy pull out couch & not have the bed collapse next to your daughter from placing her suitcase on it, if you expect the "handyman" to come fix the bed so you have 2 beds, & work around your plans (ie: timed entry into RMNP) & be friendly upon arrival, if you want to enjoy the outdoor area, as advertised, not infested with thistles, random trash & broken boards with nails everywhere, if you expect to have clean areas free of other peoples' hair & not leftover coffee grounds from the previous people, if you expect the missing tp holder replaced & a shower that doesn't flood the bathroom floor, if you expect to not be spied on by a nondisclosed security camera on the shack nextdoor, pointed directly at your space (which is a full on VRBO security violation as it was not disclosed on their site), if you expect the 1/2 refund the host stated instead of only 1/3 & for her to understand guest service, DO NOT STAY HERE! Look at their advertised photos and look @ ours. I never write negative reviews, but others need to be warned about this property & rude, unaccommodating "host", Jordan. VRBO refunded us some due to the inadequacies of the host & property.

À propos de l’hôte
Hôte : Jordan Phelan
Jason, my husband, and I are a travel loving, adventurous couple who loves, well traveling! In our free time, we enjoy backpacking, camping, good beer and doing home improvements. We enjoy hosting and meeting people from all walks of life. We hope you'll stay at our cabin and enjoy this place we have worked so hard on.
Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement
We love this property because it has such a rich history. The cabins were built in the 1930's to house workers that built Lake Granby. Over the years, they have been both nightly and long term rentals. Names have changed over the years from Crescent Cabins, Timberlake Cabins, Cassandra's Cabins and now Wild Acre Cabins. There are four cabins on the property that all are/were in need of maintenance and updates. We have taken on the challenge of fixing them up and hope that you will enjoy the touches we put on them! This listing is for only one cabin that sleeps two people. The other cabins are not yet rental ready.
