This slightly elevated first floor oceanfront villa is a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath retreat with a unique private walkout deck that leads directly to the beach, pool, baby pool, and common grilling area. The beautiful villa provides a stunning ocean view from the living room, which features a 65" flat screen TV, free WiFi, and a sleep sofa. The dining table comfortably seats 6, and there are 2 breakfast bar stools. The kitchen is fully furnished for your convenience, and there is also a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer. The villa's interior features an oceanfront master suite with a king bed, 43" flat screen TV, and en suite bath with a walk-in glass shower. The guest bedroom offers 2 double beds and a private bath with a tub/shower combo. Beach Towels & Beach Chairs are included in every Hilton Head Rentals professionally managed property.

Located within the Palmetto Dunes Resort, the Captain Walk Villas are among the most popular of the oceanfront properties. The resort offers three championship golf courses, miles of bike paths, tennis, pickle ball, the General Store, and an 11-mile lagoon system that you can explore by rented kayak or canoe. The oceanfront Dunes House is a must-visit spot where you can enjoy a cocktail or a leisurely lunch while watching the waves. The beach is easily accessible via the beach walk that takes you from the pool to the beach. Guests of the villa can comfortably sleep 8, and the villa is non-smoking. The owner of this villa has provided 4 beach chairs for guests to use during their stay.

Guests of Palmetto Dunes can take the free Dunes Buggy that runs between the resort and the Shelter Cove Marina. At the marina, visitors can enjoy strolling along the harbor and taking in the gorgeous water views and yachts. Charters are also available, including dolphin cruises, fishing trips, and marsh exploration. The marina is home to a variety of restaurants, specialty shops, and free live entertainment during the summer months. Additionally, there is a free fireworks display every Tuesday from mid-June through mid-August.

The on-site oceanfront pool measures 22' x 50' and is 3' to 5' in depth. It is heated in March, April, October and November. Pool heat dates are subject to change without notice and may vary depending on weather. The pool area also offers a kiddie pool.

The property is in a beautiful location, so close to the beach and community pool. We were able to walk out our balcony and down to the path leading to the beach and be set up within a couple minutes. Just lovely! The unit could use a little bit of maintenance and the primary bathroom could use an upgrade. Not the end of the world, but if the condo appearance is more important than the awesome location then maybe this property isn’t for you.

Review

Dated worn furnishings, on arrival, lamp in bedroom was broken as was a shower door. There were problems with plumbing, freezer, dishwasher, and not well cleaned. Dripping vents. View from patio was great. Beach and beach access were great. Beautiful area and location in Palmetto Dunes. Property management company was very responsive and quickly responded to address fixing broken things and providing additional needed parking pass. Nice provision of beach chairs and shovels, buckets, wave boards, etc.

Great Location, not the cleanest unit

There was a smell of urine in the unit as well as not much space to store items for the week in the kitchen. The spare closet was also filled messily with beach items and no space for clothes. The unit was in a great location the beach and pool. It was great to be able to walkout too. Just wish the linens and things felt cleaner.

Wonderful spot in Palmetto Dunes!

Love the location! Proximity to beach/pool and tennis/pickleball was idea. The unit was very comfortable. The only recommendation I would make is that they get black out curtains for the smaller bedroom. The windows open up to the entrance hallway and there are very bright lights out there, probably for security reasons. Would be a quick fix and would make sleeping in that room much better. Otherwise, the place is perfect.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 1st experience renting for a month, a retirement trip. 403 CW great location but this unit needs upgrade. We had a mouse problem the entire visit. Lost numerous food items had to keep most in frig. Service came numerous times to try and catch them to no avail. Said unit upstairs reported problems too. Squirrels? are in the walls/ceilings. Guests in 2nd BR heard them all night. Mouse droppings were in pullout couch. Replaced batteries in 2 tv remotes and in light remote. Smoke alarm fell out of ceiling. A lot of small details need addressing for the price we paid. We plan to do a month vacation every year but will shop around. We loved the amenities at CW, beach access, grills, pool were all great! We wanted to avoid elevators. For what we paid versus others we knew visiting, some stayed for 2 months for what we paid for 1 month. Our friends had an updated condo at Windsor Place for 2 months and paid $800 more than we did. We will shop around next year, we learned from this trip. We like staying in PD, have been coming here for 40 years. Please do not publish this. We think you need to know this about this unit. Thanks!!

Prime location!

Super clean and steps to the beach! Picking up the parking pass was efficient; building was quiet. Only drawback was having to remember a 6 digit door code. :)

Nice location and great space

Great location walk out to the beach close to all other shopping and restaurants. Wonderful view of the ocean. Check in was easy and no issues with anything on the property. Place was clean but carpet could be updated or taken out.

Great location, good unit, poor communication

Stay overall was good — unit was decently furnished, location was great with only a short walk off the patio to the beach. Even had a couple beach chairs and towels for us which was great. Also, Palmetto Dunes is just a fantastic community to stay in. Only a couple complaints - 1) the owners/property mgmt company never responded to either of my messages. While I read their policy on not guaranteeing early check ins, they never acknowledged my message at all. So we killed 4 hours with 2 kids waiting to hear back, but never did
.and still haven’t. We entered a very clean unit, but one that obviously no one had been in for awhile, which was disappointing for obvious reasons. Some or ANY communication would have been great. 2) the master bed and linens might be one of the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in. The bed was hard as a rock, the pillows thin as cardboard, and the linens were like sleeping on carpet. The kids slept great in the other bedroom, but my wife and I had a tough time in the master. It does not get a lot of airflow from the AC unit, and there is no fan in there either. Overall, just needs a few basic updates to the master and some responsiveness from owners, then I’d consider staying there again given the convenience to the beach and pool.

The unit is in an amazing location with great views. Steps to the ocean and very convenient for the pool. Unit was clean and had all the amenities you could imagine. The master bed was super comfortable!
