Great place for fun and chilling

The complex is the perfect spot as it is right across the street from the beach. Very short walk. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Perfect location, gorgeous decor.

Close to the beach , restaurants, music , shopping and all the action! Beautiful decorating. Working with Vacasa makes it a pleasant experience. Well stocked accommodation. Excellent rental experience!

The property was clean, and accommodating. There were enough beds, bedding, cookware, towels and bathrooms. Our kitchen light went out the morning after we checked in. It was unable to be fixed and we had to cook by daylight no enough light to cook at night. So that was miserable.

Great Location - Pool Just OK

Tanglewood Villas is in a great spot to enjoy the Coligny Beach Area on Hilton Head. Just a short walk to the beach and shops made dining and beach days easy. The condo was very clean and well stocked. The pool was cold and cannot be heated which was not stated in the information so we couldn’t really use it. Also, you can only turn the AC down to 72 so the condo was stuffy at times. The full size bunk beds were nice but the whole thing shakes every time someone moves.

Adequate; Clean

Very clean, but realize ahead of time that while perfectly adequate - and convenient to Coligny Beach and plaza- this unit is OLD and very ordinary - nothing to get excited about. Also know that you will haul your stuff up to 3rd floor. Sofa needs updated. Bathrooms are cramped and feature a 2 foot square shower. That said, unit was very clean, Vacasa very responsive and helpful, and for one couple or a couple with small kids, is perfectly adequate- two couples in a pinch for a weekend. Fairly priced.

Great location!

Several pros - we love the tanglewood area and proximity to the beach. Queen bunk beds were great for our kids - 9, 11, & 13. W&D and 2.5 bathrooms - all great. The condo was equipped with starter items and tons of towels - very thoughtful. Cons - the condo smelled musty, once we bumped the AC up it eventually went away. Based on the air fresheners that were left laying around, it is obviously a known issue. Water pressure in the master bathroom shower is nonexistent and there is a rusty screw holding the drain cover down. We reached out to the owner Saturday evening with a question about items available at the property, we did not expect to hear back immediately however, we didn’t hear anything until Tuesday evening when our stay was almost over. The process of stopping to pick up parking passes is unnecessary. I’m not sure why the parking passes can’t just be left in the room by the cleaning crew.

Beautiful!

We loved our stay here! 5 minute walk from the beach and tons of restaurants! It was clean and nicely furnished. The full kitchen and washer/dryer were very nice to have. For elderly, there are a couple flights of stairs so be aware of that when booking. Not a negative for us. It was nice to have a better view out of the windows.

Condo was nice, Vacasa not very helpful.

Upon arrival, a light in the kitchen and over the microwave was not working. It took 2 weeks to get the light fix. Half the time we were there. The coffee maker leaked all over the kitchen when filled. Reading other reviews, the same issue was mentioned previously and Vacasa claimed to have fixed, they didn’t. The ceiling fan would turn on by itself, very odd. The fan would just come on and the light would also turn on, very unnerving in the middle of the night. The operations manager Travis, said he was going to get us compensation for all the inconvenience, when I called Vacasa at the end of our stay, they told us Travis was no longer with them and I was told a manager would call us. No manager ever called. The condo was nice enough, but clearly was not managed correctly. I would stay at tanglewood villas again, but not a property managed by Vacasa.

Convenient location, nice home.

We loved the location of this home. It was central for many of the things we wanted to do. It was very lose to Sea Pines Plantation, and there were a lot of good restaurants that were nearby.

Nice location & roomy townhome

It was a great location & a short walk to Coligny shops/restaurants and Beach. The complex was quiet and the townhome roomie. It was fairly clean but not pristine. They do not provide any extras like beach chairs, beach towels, bikes etc. Both coffee makers leaked & the dishwasher wasn’t attached. The main bed was fairly comfortable as was the living room furniture. Overall we had a pleasant stay. Both showers are tiny. And be sure to note it is a flight of stairs up to the unit & another flight up to the bedrooms.

Bachelorette Weekend

My best friend wanted a relaxing weekend in Hilton Head for her bachelorette party. I found this rental and thought it would be great! Originally it was listed to sleep 9, but I started questioning if it really did because it only listed 4 beds. Unfortunately it only truly sleeps 8, and the rental manager ended up getting us an air mattress for our 9th guest. It was tight, even if there were only 8 of us, it was very crowded. The pull out couch should only sleep one person (it is so uncomfortable), but we did find a trundle bed under the bunks. Nonetheless, our sleeping arrangements were handled and no one had to sleep on a floor at least. The location of the condo is really great, it is not a 3 minute walk to the beach though, at least 15 minutes I would say to Coligny. They did not allow any early check in options. My flight landed at 10 am and could absolutely not get in until after 4pm, that was a little irritating that there was no flexibility. All in all, though it was a good weekend stay. I would stay here again if it was less the 6 adults, wouldn't recommend to stay with little children due to the walk to the beach and stairs in the condo. It was clean, cute and quiet. Quick drive to Publix, local eateries and shops.

Nice location!

First, I want to ensure an honest review as the previous reviews weren't really helpful to me until after already booking the property. This property is advertised as a 3 minute walk to the beach. It is certainly not a 3 minute walk to the beach. For someone with small children and hauling sand toys, beach chairs, coolers, etc., I feel this important to know, especially in 85-95 degree weather. There are 2 beach options. The first is public access to Coligny beach, which is approx a 12-15 minute walk. This beach is busier, but has a nice walkway off the hot sand and public bathrooms and plenty of showers. It's also right next to Coligny plaza. The other beach access is about a 6 minute walk if you go behind the townhouses near the dumpsters and out the back parking lot. You can cross the S Forest Beach drive and enter the beach at Seaside Villas. They have an entry to the beach but everything else is private and locked with entry codes, including the showers, so you cant rinse off until you come back to Tanglewood. This beach is less congested, but also note, no bathroom unless you walk back to your townhouse. The townhouse itself was very nice and modernly updated. There were 5 of us and it was plenty of space. The master bedroom has a king bed and the 2nd bedroom has queen bunkbeds. I believe the counch in the living area also pulls out, but we did not use that, so I cannot confirm. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which was very nice. However, the showers are VERY small; I felt like I was in a box. Both showers are this way, you have very little room to move, so if you are clostrophobic or a larger person, this may not be a good option for you. In addition, there are no bathtubs. Also important to note for those with small children. There are both a traditional coffee pot and a Keurig. You are provided with 4-5 detergent pods, and 3 dishing washing pods. You may want to bring along garbage bags as we were only provided with two. One to start, and another in the bottom of the can. Parking is nice - you have your own spot, which is numbered and there were plenty of extra guest spots when we were there. The pool area is nice and mostly shaded. There is only one grill, which is shared. There are many restaurants, shops, playgrounds, bike rentals, and trails all within walking distance, so you can park your car and essentially not have to drive anywhere. The location is really great, but I felt mislead on the distance to the beach that was advertised. It really is a deal breaker for some people, while others may not be concerned. The bedrooms did shows signs of not being cleaned, sand everywhere and even in the sheets. If you are paying someone a cleaning fee, the place should be cleaned and ready for the next guest. All in all, we had a great vacation, everything we used worked and we didnt encounter any issues during our stay that needed attention, so for that I am thankful.

Good overall, but farther than advertised walk to beach

Everything was clean and nice, but it was advertised as a “3 min walk from beach”, which we found to be closer to a 15 min walk to the beach access point at Cologne Beach Park, which was the closest access point. Made it tough to carry a baby / bring toys, but if that’s not a concern for you, I’d recommend this place.

Perfect Location

We loved this place! It's located in the heart of Forest Beach, close to Coligny. Perfectly decorated and we found it very comfortable. Vacasa was easy to work with. Overall enjoyable experience.

Birthday Trip

Took my girlfriend to Hilton Head for her first visit to my favorite island. This location was great and the place was nice! We only had two issues. One being we never could get the Wifi to work or connect after resetting it 3-4 times. The lamps in the living room never turned on we tried it 4-5 with no results! Overall we would recommend this place to any and everybody we know! Thanks for the great time! We appreciate it and look forward to our next stay! Stay safe and stay healthy.

Well maintained and clean property with owners who seem to care

I would have been glad to rate the property 5 star but for an issue with the lighting. A light in the 2nd bedroom cannot be switched off without going to the electrical panel, which simultaneously cuts the power to the master bedroom. It caused some inconvenience to us.
