Située dans un endroit calme, dans la partie la plus ensoleillée de l'île, dans le charmant village romantique d'Estreito da Calheta, à seulement 40 minutes de Funchal, la Villa 17° West dispose d’une piscine à débordement d’eau salée de 8x4 m et d’une douche solaire, perchée sur une petite colline au milieu d’un vignoble.

L’emplacement de la maison est unique. Vous profitez du caractère du village avec ses fêtes intéressantes et la plage est accessible en quelques minutes en voiture.

À Madère, le climat est doux presque toute l’année, particulièrement à Calheta, idéal pour la flore et la faune. Tout y fleurit abondamment.

Wonderful house with great view

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was very clean, cozy and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We can recommend this house, there was really nothing to complain about! We would love to stay there again in the future.

Beautiful!

Our first visit to this gorgeous island. The villa was well equipped, very clean and had amazing views. Jorge and his family were very helpful and friendly. There are a couple of restaurants and a small shop that are walkable but everything else is a drive away so would recommend a hire car as essential. We had an amazing holiday and would love to return someday.

Great location, great views

Comfortable, spacious and clean house for two couples to enjoy time together. A few local bars, a restaurant and some shops in walking distance. Owner and caretaker were very responsive and quick to fix a few small matters.

Wonderful relaxing setting

This is a very impressive property with fantastic views of the surrounding hills and out to the ocean. The house itself is immaculately clean and superbly equipped for a very comfortable stay, including the wonderful infinity pool. You will need a car, as it is set in the peaceful hills above Calheta, but everything you need is easily accessible and it's a great base for a relaxing holiday.

Incredible Location

The views from this lovely property are staggering! Straight ahead from the main bedroom balcony or the patio or from the infinity pool you look down onto the sea and coastline in the distance. To the left and slightly behind are stunning views of the hills & mountains. The villa itself is very spacious and well maintained and the swimmong pool is a delight.

Vacation at 17 West Madeira

Lovely home in Calheta Madeira! The house was very spacious with a lovely view, great deck space and an amazing pool. The fireplace was great on the cooler nights. The host Jessica was very quick to respond and very helpful. The house is on a quiet street and within walking distance of several restaurants and two markets. It made for a great vacation location and I hope we will be back again some day!

Best holiday villa we have ever stayed in! The villa was so spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable. The view from the villa’s infinity swimming pool was truly stunning! We received a very warm welcome from Jorge on our arrival to the villa. Jorge was extremely helpful and gave us excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and places of interest to visit on the beautiful island of Madeira. The villa is only a 5 minute drive from Calheta beach and marina. We were spoiled for choice! Thank you for a wonderful holiday

Perfect villa for 6 adults, with wonderful views.

The villa completely lived up to our hopes and expectations! It was very well equipped and had plenty of space for 6 adults to relax, both inside and out around the pool. Easy, off road, parking for two cars. The housekeepers was always available to answer any questions, and to give suggestions for places to eat. We also made use of the telescope to enjoy the views of the night sky! It is also worth knowing there is a great little restaurant nearby ("Bago"), just 2 minutes walk. (It's rather well hidden, not even a sign outside because its part of the Quinta das Vinhas hotel, but it is open to people not staying at the hotel)

Excellent family holiday

We had a wonderful stay at this amazing villa. The villa was equipped with everything we needed and was lovely and spacious. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the thick curtains to stop children waking too early. The children particularly loved the pool and we enjoyed being able to relax on the loungers and outdoor seating whilst they were splashing about. The views from the master bedroom balcony were lovely and we spent every evening up there after the children had gone to bed watching the ever changing sky - blissful! We enjoyed being able to get down quickly to Calheta to go to the beach and the easy accessibility to everywhere on the island that we wanted to visit. The local shop is also very handy and has pretty much everything you could need. We also had a delicious evening meal at the local vineyard. Jorge was very responsive for anything we needed and gave us some excellent recommendations of places to eat and visit - the whale watching tour he recommended was an absolute highlight for all of us. Overall, a brilliant stay!

Stunning location

We loved our stay at 17 West. The views were stunning. We even saw whales out at sea through the binoculars one day. You have to have a car to stay here, but we would highly recommend having a car to properly explore the island. We used the local supermarket and shop and the larger supermarket in Calheta to do a bigger shop. The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the bbq in the garden one night. The bottle of wine and crisps and juice was a nice touch when we arrived too. The villa was very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are large and all have lovely views and balconies. The beds are huge and comfortable. We did use the aircon in the rooms only when we went to bed as it was quite humid overnight and also to keep it quieter with the local cockerels in the morning. So we all slept very well. We also really enjoyed the pool. It isn’t heated but being summer it was a lovely refreshing temperature. Jorge who was the local villa manager was very friendly and helpful and answered any questions quickly. He also helped to tell us where to go when our daughter got an ear infection and we needed to see a doctor. We loved the island and would love to visit again one day.

The Perfect Getaway

We cannot say enough about our experience and the property. Trust the reviews and make this your vacation home-base. Jessica was a pleasure to communicate with - answering all questions in a timely manner and even making recommendations for our initial stay in Funchal. She even popped in to introduce herself and make sure we were settled, which was a thoughtful personal touch we greatly appreciated. The property manager Jorge was equally responsive and made our check in seamless; we were even able to check in earlier than planned and Jorge’s son walked us through the property to ensure we had what we needed. A lovely welcome gift was an added touch and very much appreciated! The listing was true to its word and there was plenty of space indoors and out. The location ended up being perfect, both for those lazy days of just enjoying the stunning views and the outdoor pool space, and central to travel the island and explore. The parking space was a huge bonus once we started to see the lack of space in other properties. Everything you need is either a short walk (a great glute workout given the elevation and steep roads… a welcome opportunity to burn off the wine!) or short drive to Calheta and local market. We would absolutely return to this property and highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed 😊

Très agréable séjour

Villa moderne, très spacieuse et lumineuse avec beaucoup d'espace de rangement dans les chambres. Belle piscine à débordement non-chauffée donc un peu fraîche en cette saison. Vue extraordinaire de la terrasse et de toutes les chambres à l'étage qui ont toutes un accès sur l'extérieur. Jorge et Jessica, ont su se rendre très disponibles durant notre séjour.

Superbe maison tout confort !

Nous avons sejourné dans la villa 17° west pendant les vacances de la Toussaint et nous avons TOUT ADORÉ ! La maison est grande, tres confortable, dotee de tous les equipements necessaires. Et quelle vue ! toutes les pieces de la maison offre une magnifique vue sur l'ocean et les couches de soleil ! La maison est situee en haut du village, il faut une voiture pour aller a la plage ou faire des courses. Il y a toutefois plusieurs restau et bars accesibles a pieds ;) Jessica et Jorge ont ete adorables et de tres bons conseils, merci a vous. Nous avons passé une super semaine, n'hesitez pas !
