All the Gulf County Beaches are dog-friendly so it just makes sense that we equipped our cottage to accommodate your 4 legged family member! Just steps from the cottage is the beautiful pool and hot tub! We just ask that you let us know the breed and size of your pup so that we can communicate this to the management company.

199.00 dog fee - per dog - per stay for your dog and emotional support dogs. (ADA laws do not recognize emotional support animals as "Service Dogs". There is a 1 dog limit per stay unless approved by owner and management company. If you would like to bring multiple dogs, please message us and we can get your approval back very quickly. Other types of pets may be considered, please message us if you’d like consideration. We comply to all ADA laws in regards to Service Dogs and they always stay for free. I personally have epilepsy and am fortunate enough to have an amazing Seizure Alert Service Dog!

2 Screened-In porches - Enjoy lounging on the bed-swing or enjoy sipping on a cocktail in one of the beautiful sitting areas offered on both porches. The Ground Floor porch - right off the living area is perfect for winding into your day with morning coffee, Bloody Mary or a Mimosa! The Upper Screened Porch is right off the Master Bedroom and Perfect for a enjoying the sunset with an evening cocktail or simply winding down with a good book!

Also, just to make your stay as convenient as possible you will find basic pantry items included such as salt, pepper, spices, cooking oil, etc for your use as well as the basic condiments in the refrigerator. Drip Coffee Maker and Keurig Coffee - Starter coffee and filters are included. Dishwashing soap, Laundry Soap, Bath Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner included.

Brand New Smart TV's in living room and bedrooms with cable included. Laundry Room with washer and dryer on main level. Connect easily to our Fast WiFi with the login information easily displayed throughout the cottage.

This two-bedroom, 2 1/2-bathroom cottage will comfortably host 6 people. In the master bedroom, there is luxury king-size bed with brand new comfortable Gel Memory Foam mattress, private screened -in balcony/porch access, and a private en suite. The second bedroom with a Queen Bed for a second couple, kids or mom! In the living room are two ottoman's that convert to twin size bed. You can use them as single twins or put together for king bed if needed. Please let us know if you want to use these and we will ensure you have additional linens available.

The cottage is very conveniently located between the some of the best beaches in Florida and the town of Port St Joe. The town is just wonderful with quaint boutiques sprinkled in with some really wonderful restaurants.

Cape San Blas - 10 minutes

There is a small white sandy beach area directly across from our community but it's not where I recommend spending the entire day, because there are no facilities and there are much nicer beaches in the area. However, we do enjoy taking our dog there to swim and watch the sunset from this area as it's private, quiet and the water is warmer and calmer. Families with kids will prefer any of the other nearby beaches

The nicest close beach is about 1/2 mile away......Windmark Beach. While you can walk/bike, I typically drive there because it's super easy to take your chairs, cooler, umbrellas, etc. It's very easy to park right at the short path onto the beach and there are brand new, very nice facilities (bathroom) right there. It's typically a quiet and beautiful beach.....perfect for families. You can easily walk down the beach to the Windmark Community Center where you will find a few lovely restaurants. I personally love "The View on 98" for brunch....bottomless Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's. We typically setup our beach camp in the morning at the first Windmark Beach entrance and then walk down for Brunch at The View and then head back to our area to spend the day. About 1 minute further is Port St Joe Beach and about 5 minutes further is Mexico Beach. Both are very nic, white sandy beaches and you will find a few more people there. However, none of the local beaches are commercialized or crowded. All the beaches have been beautified since Hurricane Michael in 2018. Windmark Beach and Port St Joe Beach are both dog friendly . Mexico Beach is NOT dog friendly.

I highly recommend that you take a cooler, lunch, snacks etc and spend at least a day at the St. Joseph State Park at the end of Cape San Blas. It's just gorgeous and worth the drive. You can enjoy the Gulf Side or the Bay side at the end of the Cape as well as some scenic little walking trails that will remind you of being in Costa Rica or the Caribbean. Just make sure you bring some bug repellent if you want to do the walks because sometimes there are yellow biting flies at the cape. The locals swear by Australian Gold sunscreen to repel them. :-). The beaches on the Cape are dog friendly with the exception of the State Park. The park has a little store and also they rent pontoon boats, kayaks and paddle boards.

Port St Joe / Mexico Beach has numerous beach spots where you can enjoy your own personal sandy paradise! St Johns Bay is full of beautiful birds and sights to see. Some of the world's best deep-sea fishing is available, with plenty of charter companies waiting to take you out to the open water.

ENTRY INFORMATION:
Once you pull into the Barefoot Cottages and enter through the gate, you will take the first left past the gate. At the very end is a large parking area. There you will find cart/wagon stations situated at the beginning of each of the 2 paths that lead beside the pool. These wagons make it so easy to take your luggage and groceries to the cottage. You can take either path to the end of the pool area and we are the next to last cottage past the pool. Please return carts to the cart storage area as quickly as possible for other guests.
