Come enjoy a day at the beach making memories with your family and friends. This house is perfect if you want a short walk to the beach. This home is setup for large groups to gather. Southern Comfort is newly decorated and has an open floorplan with two nice decks to enjoy the ocean breeze. The covered deck is the perfect place to unwind after a day at the beach. This home is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Port A, the Sand Point subdivision.
The home sleeps up to 14 people with 5 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, plus a sleeper sofa. Everyone can meet there, since there is plenty of parking in the two driveways (one at the front and one at the side of the house). Enjoy the convenience of a short walk to the beach and an even shorter walk to the community heated swimming pool and hot tub. We are located in town with easy access to restaurants, shops, and the grocery store. All living areas and bedrooms come equipped with flat screen TVs with Roku apps for movies and music plus local cable.
You will enter the home on the second floor, which consists of the living room, dining room and fully stocked kitchen, as well as a large deck. This floor also includes the master bedroom, with a king bed and ensuite bathroom. There is also a queen bedroom and a full bathroom that opens up to the main living area. The living room has a queen sized sleeper sofa.
The kids suite is located downstairs. The bedroom consists of two bunk beds, with one of them having a full sized bed on one of the bottom bunks. The bedroom offers a little computer area for the kids and full ensuite bathroom, which includes a shower/tub combination.
The top floor features two bedrooms and a full bathroom with a shower. There is a queen bedroom with a private deck. The other bedroom offers a twin bed. There is a small TV/gaming area is also located on this floor with 2 large bean bag chairs – perfect for the older kids and the “big kids” in all of us to have space to play.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you encountered a couple of roaches during your stay as that’s certainly not the experience we want for our guests.
We do take pest control very seriously, and the property is professionally treated on a regular monthly schedule, with the most recent service completed just 16 days prior to your stay. While this greatly reduces the likelihood of issues, occasional sightings can still happen, especially in our climate. We will continue to be proactive to reduce any unwanted bugs.
We do wish we had been notified during your stay, as we would have addressed the situation immediately. Your comfort is important to us, and we’re always happy to respond quickly to any concerns in real time. We will also definitely assess the mattresses. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Perfect location to walk to the beach. The Beachlodge restaurant was at the beach as well, great breakfast lunch spot to watch the waves. The owner was great, she responded to my questions and allowed an early check in when the house was available. The pool was very small and lackluster. The AC worked great all the way up to the 3rd floor bedrooms. You will need to bring your own ice as there is no icemaker and bring your own soap and shampoo for the showers. I will definitely rent this home again.

Fun, pleasant stay with our family
We brought 2 of our sons and their families to stay here. It was a great property at one of the best locations in Port Aransas. Rooms were great, plenty of kitchen ware and TVs in every room. We would stay here again with pleasure.

Great house and location!
Stayed here with several friends and there was plenty of space for everyone to stay comfortably. The location was great to run around town and right next to the beach!

The threshold for the shower entrance was in need of paint. The hot water faucet in the shower kept coming off. The garage was filthy and basically unuseable. The outdoor water faucet leaks and the sprinkler for it is trashed. The outdoor light on the stairway flashed like a strobe and was not good for navigating the stairs. The cookware was not in very good condition. The master bedroom had a howling noise that sounded like a trumpet blaring and would wake us up when sleeping. The upstairs bedroom carpet is dirty. The downstairs bedroom bunk beds were wobbly and children were afraid to sleep in the top bed.

Family vacation
We stayed at Southern Comfort on our first family vacation with our 2 adult children and their families. The house was perfect… big enough, quick walk to the great beach, clean, comfortable. Our host was responsive. I definitely recommend this house.
