Incredible Ocean view from Updated Top Floor Condo!

The Kona Makai is an Ocean Front Complex located on famous Ali'i Drive just 1 mile south of the edge of historic Kona Village. Kona Makai has immaculately maintained Hawaiian native plants. Enjoy the wonderful ocean-front seating area with loungers, feel the ocean spray, and listen to the rolling waves. Watch the spinner dolphins traveling by most mornings and back again in the late afternoon. We've also seen whales and monk seals! Enjoy amazing sunsets and good conversation with your fellow travelers. The heated salt water pool and relaxing spa are steps from the ocean, along with gas grills and eating areas for dinner. This a quiet complex with tennis courts, exercise rooms, and ping-pong.

This is a 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Unit, with a loft and soaring open-beam ceilings. It is on the 3rd floor without an elevator. This spacious condo has been recently updated with stone counter tops, new kitchen cabinets, tile floors, both bathrooms redone, and new bedroom furniture in both bedrooms, and new mattresses on all beds. There is a dining set for six inside, along with a dining table and chairs on the lanai. There are TV’s in both bedrooms and the living room. The living room and master bedroom both feature 65" 4K smart TVs, with a 55" in the 2nd bedroom. Incredible ocean views from the lanai with access from the living room and the primary bedroom. There is a King Bed in the primary bedroom, which also has an ensuite bathroom, a Queen Bed in the second bedroom, a King Bed in the loft, and a queen-size cabinet bed located in the living room. It is fully equipped with a washer, dryer, towels, linens, dishes, and shopping bags for purchasing your groceries etc. Everything you need for a day at the beach is included: chairs, beach towels, a cooler, an umbrella, beach toys, and plastic dishes for use at the pool and beach.
This condo feels like home.

We have family that own the ground floor condo directly below us. If you are coming with a group and need another unit, please contact us to send you the information on that unit, so you can determine if the rental of both units are available for your stay.

Pool, hot tub, grounds, and sunsets over the ocean were great. It was great to have the use of the beach towels, cooler, boogie boards etc. The only complaint would be the wifi was just terrible, we didn't come for the Internet but it was frustrating to even try and look up restaurants and stuff.

Loved this unit and would stay here again. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would need. The rest of the condo too. Loved all the snorkel gear, boogie boards, football, reusable grocery bags and a beach bag!! Thank you! The master bedroom air conditioner was really loud but after a couple nights we figured out a work around to have it off a night and just the fans and other air conditioning units on and we were comfortable and able to sleep. I have 4 stars for cleanliness because there were a few areas that could use a deep clean for built up dust(my son has a bad dust allergy so I stress about dust) common living spaces and especially bathrooms and kitchens were very clean. Communication was quick, friendly and very much appreciated.

This home was in a fantastic location for snorkeling, beaches, and generally exploring the island. Views from the lanai were lovely. Pool and grill area were great. If we were on the big island, we would rent here again.

Great location. Beautiful sunsets on the volcanic rock by the ocean. The gas grills were very nice. The kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of parking. It is a 3rd floor appartement with no elevator.

Nice condo, with lots of amenities. Very communicative, and really lovely people. Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked. Thoroughly enjoyed and 100% would stay here again. The location is perfect- close to all the restaurants, and also close to magic sands beach and a few other good snorkeling spots. Also, close to the airport.

Great Place, Great Stay Again

We returned to this property based on the value, location, and space for the family. Kitchen was super functional. Lanai was fantastic to sit on in the mornings. The owners response time on minor issue was amazing. I told them it could wait till after we checked out, she got it taken care of immediately. We will be rebooking soon!!!

Amazing location

Laurie was thee best host we've experienced so far. She was quick to answer questions we had, she helped when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the condo, and graciously accommodating to our travel needs. We will definitely book with Laurie again. Thank you Laurie!

Amazing stay

My family of 6 (4 to 74) had a wonderful 2 week stay at this property. Great views, great amenities, very responsive and helpful hosts, great location (close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, groceries). Place had everything one would expect of their own property - EXTREMELY well stocked with pool/ beach/ games/stationery/books/guides and brochures/utensils everything. Even had wet bag to hold phone wallet in water. We were very sad to leave and would 100% stay here again.

Beautiful Condo with Excellent View

We have stayed at a few different condos in Hawaii and this our favorite. The condo itself was updated, well stocked with supplies, and comfortably fit seven of us (3 of which were kids). The view from the 3rd floor lanai was something we enjoyed every night. The location was perfect too. Close to the shops and restaurants in Kona so it was a quick drive or sometimes we walked there (about a mile).

30th Anniversary in paradise.

Property was great. 2 weeks in a very well maintained complex and our accommodations were everything we needed. Our 2 bedromm was very well stocked woth a lot of extras that made the experience memorable. We will recommend to our friends and hopefully return with them.

Amazing!

There were 6 adults and 2 children staying in this condo. It was so wonderfully neat and tidy (we especially appreciated this after the condo we stayed in in Maui days before). This condo had everything you needed for your stay, right down to some kids toys which my two girls were extremely happy about. Check in process was easy because clear instructions were sent. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai watching the ocean and the sunset. Even saw some whales! 100% recommend this condo. Location was also great!

We have family that also own at Kona Makai and have fallen in love with the beautifully maintained grounds and the town of Kona. Of all the Hawaiian Islands, the Big Island is our favorite!

If you have a large group of more than 8, we have family who own the ground floor unit directly below ours that sleeps 6. Contact us to see if we can coordinate the rental of both units.
