4 minutes walk to the beach, front balcony overlooks a calming preserve, listen to the birds. Back balcony overlooks tennis court, watch players below or go down and play. Nicely furnished and family friendly with playground and picnic area. You have access to the gym, indoor pool and 2 outside pool. Bike trail is right outside the gate. A beautiful and peaceful environment surrounded by Preserves.

Not as we expected.

It’s taken me some time to write a review due to the frustration we had while there. I want to be fair and realistic. It was a home we got to use to be on vacation and it was clean and well furnished. A few points to review: ‱There are NO elevators and we were not told until our check in instructions were sent as we were already on our way. The owner states it was clearly listed but I’ve rechecked the notes and it is not listed. My mom has mobility issues that left us struggling to go about without her feeling miserable. ‱The air was set on a timer that left us with nearly 80 degree internal temp on night one and spending half my first day concerned over having a livable temperature in the SC summer heat. It should be noted that there is no set schedule while the unit has tenants. ‱The “beachfront” is NOT a beachfront, it is a salt marsh with a significant walk to the water line when the low tide hits. High tide leaves little to no beach. It’s pretty scenery but not for those looking for a “beach”. We wound up driving and walking daily for beach access though we rented a “beachfront” property. ‱Check in instructions were slightly dramatic, requires all sorts of information though it’s provided through VRBO, and unclear. The location has a LOT of rules/regulations (ie no pets however we watched a tenant walking their dog and there’s an open feral cat park in front). Overall we were glad to be on vacation but this actual location left MUCH to be desired.

Nice place

The property was very nice and will maintained. It was squeaky clean when we got there. The preinstructions were adequate. I did not realize the property was on the 3rd floor and that there was no elevator. I also did not know how to find things on the property such as where both pools and beach were located but that was not a major issue we finally did figure that out pretty quickly. However the place is very remote. th There is nothing to eat that you can walk to you must drive. Also the beach area is pretty nice but the ocean itself right there in the sound is very ,very dirty, very murky lots of clay as you're trying to get into the ocean. I'm very familiar with the Atlantic and know that it's not a clear ocean, but this was a little bit more on the dirty side than I expected. I would not consider this a very swimmable beach. There are nicer beaches not very far away but again you must drive to get to them. And if you do not like cats this is not the place for you there were cats everywhere. It seems that there is a cat sanctuary nearby and the cats visit the property at night especially.

Very relaxing

Very quiet and relaxing property, almost feels like a private beach. Explore lots of wildlife. Beautiful landscaped property. Very responsive host! Will definitely stay here again

Spa at Port royal

Great place to stay! Beautiful private beach. Condo had more than enough towels and soap as well as detergent and garbage bags. Could have used an extra blanket but overall excellent.

Great Stay

We had a great time staying at this property. Everything was clean and everything that we needed was supplied. The property manager was quick and efficient with responses. The area was within walking distance to the beach and the pools were well maintained. Great area. I would definitely stay again.

Way too expensive for what you get

This place was ridiculous and my family will never return. We had a good beach experience once we left the area and went on the east side of the island but not at the location of the apartments. 3rd floor (stairs only) and a very far walk from the beach. Beach was also nasty. Also couldn’t hardly get checked in due to renter and inability to answer phone or be prepared.

I came to visit to see if I want to move to Hilton head. Turns out I love it even more than expected. Wonderful condo on a gorgeous beach!

Cozy Condo

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. The place was clean, comfy beds and ample space for the family of 5. Few items to mention that could improve the experience of future occupants: 1. Upfront disclosure of $20 parking fee. It's not much but when you are planning and budgeting, it would be nice of have that info available. 2. Kitchen has very basic amenities. Lack of non-stick utensils means spending more time scrubbing to clean them after each use. I think anybody on vacation would rather spend more time at the beach than at the kitchen sink. 3. Furniture such as dining table is very basic. The table edges are very sharp and hurts your arm if you rest them on the edge. 4. In other VRBOs we have stayed before, there were a good supply of toiletries. Here, we got a small bar soap and toilet paper. Another thing to disclose upfront if it is very basic supply then visitors should plan ahead. I didn't want to make a grocery stop to buy all the supplies. 5. TV setup needs to be simple. After a lot of troubleshooting, the one in the living room worked but we couldn't get the one in the bedroom to work. I would like to end on a high note, communication with the owner is very easy. They respond very quickly to your questions. Thank you for letting us stay here for our vacation after a very long lockdown.
