Tropical Island Paradise - Leialoha Cottage

This beautiful, private cottage is located just outside of Volcano town and is ideal for couples or small families looking to slow down and enjoy the Big Island way of life. This home sits at the rear of an expansive property and backs right up to open space. Unwind on your oversized, covered lanai after a long day of exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, just twenty minutes away.

Once inside, this home features simple, modern tropical décor with gorgeous, lofted ceilings and an abundance of natural light. There is a spacious kitchen that flows seamlessly into the main living area with a 72-inch smart TV to enjoy late night movies.

Both bedrooms have king size beds with soft linens and lovely views of the wooded area out back. The oversized bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and has beautiful marbled granite with a separate vanity and sitting area.

This delightful cottage is the perfect base for exploring Volcano National Park and the surrounding area. Enjoy cooler evenings and beautiful views of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea from this lovely property – your countryside, Big Island getaway awaits!

Very nice place to stay at, Very quiet neighborhood

I was very happy to stay here. Had nice size rooms. I like the King size beds. Had all the kitchen stuff needs to make and eat meals. I'd stay there again.

This cottage was very clean and in a super quiet area. The one thing is, it is down a dirt/gravel road with no lighting. Definitely an adventure getting to it. It is a fairly remote area but for that it was definitely a place we would consider staying at again. The kitchen was well equipped and the amenities were well set up for a relaxing stay.

Perfect home

You were here to visit our children and grandchildren who live about five minutes down the road in Mountain View. The instructions to get in were perfect. House is beautiful. Even better than the pictures. Beautifully stocked. Beautifully decorated. We found it easy to maneuver and the extra things like bathrobes and shower supplies were lovely! It is refreshing that you have very nice quality linens, decor etc. We don’t always have that sometimes when we travel. The neighbors were so friendly too! If you are in Mountain View or going to volcano national Park area this is a winner!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great cottage with all the amenities if home. Super clean and well cared for. Only drawback was the location down a pothole ridden dirt road in the middle of nowhere.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Water pipe broke under house, Washing machine didn't work half the time, Coffee table legs were very loose, TV quit working for 2 days till we had to fix it ourselves, there were little beetle like bugs around the house on the floor and the water pump is under the house under our bedroom and made noise every time some one used water. The pressure tank needs recharging.

Nice home. Very clean.

This was a very clean home. Housekeeper sets the home up beautifully! The beds are firm and the pillows are very....floppy. It's fun watching the wild pigs root up the yard from the lani 😝 downside was the neighbors listened to their news sooo loud on their lani when they were home. That we didn't even want to sit outside and even had to closed some windows at one point. Luckily they were only there for two days of our visit! The man was all smiles and friendly.....it was just overwhelming loud news/tv/radio or what have you that was a bummer to have drowning out the beautiful sounds of the forest. After all that is one of the magical parts of the lani!! Listening to nature! Not the terrible new.

A Nice Stay Ruined

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is located in the rainforest and despite houses on each side feels very remote. There was minimal information about some important features, such as: no central heat (two space heaters were tucked in next to the bedroom shelves, a digital door lock that required a careful listen to the click or a check of the handle on the outside to make sure the door was locked, a Smart TV and Dish Satellite that really needed some additional instructions on how to switch between the two, and instructions on how to operate the electric fireplaces in the bedrooms. The house is really very nice, clean (except the top of the refrigerator) and modern (minus a dishwasher). The incident that ruined the stay were two gunshots late at night that were close by in the neighborhood. The police were called and did a drive by throughout the area. The called back and said that no one was spotted but suspected that someone was shooting at some wild pigs.An internet search revealed that the pigs indeed are a nuisance and legal to hunt. Not having this info at the time, we no longer felt safe in the house and left a day early. I think that some information regarding the pigs could have mitigated the surprise and fear the gunshots created. It would also have explained the recording of a dog barking each time we drove up to the house (pigs are afraid of dogs). Another suggestion is to add a deadbolt lock that could be turned from inside the house to securely lock the door.
