We greatly enjoyed the quiet of the area and its proximity to great hiking trails. The host welcomed us with beautiful bouquets of flowers throughout the cottage and the yard had plenty of room for our pup to chase tennis balls.
Don't come for the pristine white walls, the shiny silver fixures, the cold concrete. This is a home with warm colors that glow when the sun comes up and shines through the clerestory windows, with small boquets of fresh flowers, with pastoral views of a working farm, with a hottub and billions of stars every night. It's a home with the owner living nearby who welcomes you and make sure your stay is perfect. It's a home nestled between towering redwoods protected in Redwood State Park on the beautiful Avenue of the Giants. So don't come if you like the hustle and bustle of a big city and all its amenities. Come here when you are ready to unwind, unplug, sip your coffee on the patio and listen to the birds sing, or soak in the hottub and see how many constellations you can name.
What a peaceful beautiful home. Cozy and the best ambience surrounded by gardens and redwoods. The hosts are wonderful and kind. I will definitely come again and would highly reccommend
Home is exactly in the heart of the giants. A must for those looking to visit nature in the raw. The hot tub was wonderful, very clean and well kept. The house is cozy, there is no WiFi, and limited service. But it made up for it with the amenities. This place is for those looking to get away from the city and enjoy some hot coco, grilled or oven cooked food and good times with friends and family. The host are wonderful, we canât wait to return.
We loved this spot. Quiet, secluded, and surrounded by redwoods Walking distance or short drive to state park trails. Or plenty to do right on the property. Would definitely return. Hosts were great.
What a great place! Within walking distance of a beautiful trail and easy driving to other nearby attractions. Holly and Mel were very gracious hosts. I would highly recommend this special place if youâre looking to be in the heart of the redwoods!
We had a great time in the Redwoods. And the location of this property if perfect in Pepperwood. The Drury Cheney Trail is a must, 3 minutes from the house. No tv, totally unplugged from usual life for 4 days. The produce stand the owners have is outstanding! And it provided dinner for us two nights. The house had everything we needed. You wonât be disappointed.
We really enjoyed the lovely house on a working farm. The house was clean and comfortable. It has high wood ceilings and everything we needed. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck taking in nature and the farm. The hosts are on site and very kind and helpful.
Hollis is a fantastic host and the property is amazing - several acres of veggies and if you're staying there you can pick your own dinner. Definitely would make this a destination stop!
Our fourth visit here! That should say it all. The trees are only half the reason we come to the redwoods. We love staying at this vacation home. The vegetables and fruit at the farm are extraordinary. We love star gazing at night from the hot tub. We always bring steak and grill. This year we had an electric vehicle and were pleasantly surprised there was a Tesla charger we could use!!
This house is a delight! The location is beautiful, along Avenue of the Giants on a working organic farm, yet it feels private and tranquil. We enjoyed the deck and hammock, hot tub, and the views of the fields. The interior was thoughtfully arranged. Kitchen had all essentials and then some. We enjoyed the organic produce from the ownersâ farm stand a very short walk away. We used the BBQ grill and outdoor games. The view of Milky Way at night was spectacular and particularly memorable. We would love to stay here again!
Beautiful, quiet place close to the giant redwoods
The place was wonderful, quiet, and beautiful. We had a group of 5 and there was plenty of sleeping space for everybody. Lots of outdoor games set up around the yard and the gorgeous garden and free produce were a huge plus. The hot tub was a nice perk too. Would definitely stay again.
This is our second stay at this property. We love this farm in the Redwoods. The owners are lovely, they let us pick veggies from the fields. We loved being able to buy delicious blackberry Popsicles, and my son loved picking wild blackberries from the bushes along the road. The very best part were the peaceful evenings reading on the deck. Our kids loved all the yard games. This home's proximity to my favorite Humboldt Redwoods hike is also a plus. Make sure you check out the Drury Cheney Trail is you stay here!!
Was adorable, and loved how close it was to my favorite trail (Drury-Chaney!) Also, didn't know there was a Tesla charger before I got in there but sooo handy!
I and my family enjoyed the stay. Since phone service was limited we engaged in more activities together, read books, and made good memories. Easy access to the Avenue of the Giants, Drury-Chaney Trail, Eel River, and various beaches were highlights. Relaxation is a vacation requirement and the hot tub and outdoor areas were great for this.
Mel and Holly Kreb have lived on this little piece of paradise for over thirty years. Mel grew up on a family dairy farm in Iowa which explains the onsite two acre veggie garden. Holly's background is in art and design, evident in the place's warm welcoming decor. Both of their grown kids remain committed to organic agriculture, personally and professionally.
