Welcome to Pinecrest Chalet! You will love returning to a simpler time and place in this vintage mountain home in the heart of Pinetop, AZ!! 3 Bedroom, 2 bath mountain get-away. Peaceful property, steps from a popular hiking trail and Billy Creek but also blocks from great restaurants, grocery stores, and shops.

The space
You will not get cabin fever in this home! There is plenty of space and areas to spread out and relax or gather as you wish, with reading nooks, dens, 2 lofts, 2 living areas, a screened in Arizona Room, and a spacious backyard and front yard. Also equipped with an office space for at home learning or working from home.
Dog friendly with additional non-refundable pet fee.

This house was a wonderful place to stay. We were able to bring the dogs and the host was very responsive when we had a question. The outdoor space was incredible!

We enjoyed our three week stay in Pinetop-Lakeside, with the ideal weather and the relaxing atmosphere. The neighborhood we stayed in was close to the main highway, but not close enough for traffic noise to be a problem. It was a great location for daily walks, and close to the trail system. The property was extremely close to the restaurants and shopping that we used.Melissa, the owner/property manager was very timely in all of our requests.The house, although spacious, showed its age both inside and outside. The house, which I estimate is over 45 years old, needed some attention. The exterior was poorly maintained. The fans in the TV room, did not work properly, some light sockets didn't work. We had to purchase a some supplies normally provided by VRBO properties. My wife, whose is on a walker, could not use the staircase to the second floor, where the master bedroom and walk-in shower was located, because there is no handrail the second half of the stairway, so we were restricted to the first floor, which only had a tub/shower and no closet. As a result, we were only able to use the first floor for the entire stay. The picture shows there is only one step to access the front porch, however my wife couldn't use it because you can't get to it with a walker, so he had to use the stairs next to the garage. You also had to be good at backing out your vehicle, to get out of the driveway, because you couldn't turn around.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pinecrest Chalet (@pinecrestchaletaz) in Pinetop-Lakeside. The house was clean, comfortable, and in a great location—close to trails and restaurants but still quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

cool get away

We felt right at home! It was just as promised- clean, dog friendly, fully stocked kitchen (not food, but gadgets, pots and pans-complimentary coffee pods), close to trails, A/C in bedrooms, and nice neighborhood too!We had a lovely time! Melissa was super easy to deal with!PS-loved the hammock, shot hoops :)

Great Property and Host

We stayed for about 2 weeks and felt right at home. The property and host were both top notch. Would definitely recommend this house if you are looking to escape for a few weeks or just a few days. We will definitely stay again when we are in town.

Awesome week stay!

We had a wonderful time here! So many creature comforts and amenities! Beautiful home with fabulous accent lighting. Loved the fireplace built into large tv stand! We put it on at night with no heat and just enjoyed the ambiance! Loved that Billy Creek trailhead just a couple of houses down!

If you are looking to visit sunrise this is a perfect spot in the center of town with plenty to do and close to sunrise.

Labor Day Weekend Getaway

This was an amazing cabin! Excellent location! We loved the outdoor screened in room. It was great for enjoying coffee in the morning, reading, playing cards, you name it! Plenty of room for our kids to have their own space too! The one drawback would be that the dog next door barked quite a bit, attacked the fence and was just overall pretty aggressive. The behavior made our pup pretty nervous but thankfully they left partway through our stay. I am sure that it wouldn’t have been a problem if we didn’t have our pup with us. Still 5 stars but something to consider if you are bringing your pup with you.

Spacious and Comfortable

My only con of this property was there were some things that really need to be updated, like the stove. But, I do understand that this cabin is fairly new to the VRBO site so these things take time to replace. The pros though definitely outweigh the con. First, the location. It is right off the main road and 2 really good restaurants are within walking distance (Picnic Basket and Darbi's). Safeway is also just a short distance down the road. One tip for future visitors, we were looking at the mailboxes for the address. The mailbox sits on the other side of the street from the house. That took us a quick minute to figure out. LOL But whether you'll be going to Sunrise Ski Park or the casino or Show Low or to one of the lakes, the location of this cabin is about in the middle of it all. As far as the actual cabin itself, we were traveling with grandparents as well as teenagers and our dogs. The property is perfect for multiple families. There are so many 'nooks and crannies' to tuck away in that it really creates separate spaces for everyone....you don't feel you are on top of each other. The yard is so nice and large. Yes, you are in a residential area, but, again, you don't feel like you are right on top of anyone. There are so many fenced areas, including the front yard, it really made it easy to load and unload our vehicles and keep an eye on our dogs. The basketball hoop was an unexpected surprise, so that was nice to keep my teenage boys busy while we were hanging out at the cabin. For those of you who will not be traveling with dogs, the cabin does not have that pet smell. I have a very sensitive nose, and I can pick up on that smell in a heartbeat. Another plus to this cabin is white towels and sheets. There's just something about have white linens when staying at a rental. The hiking trail about 1/8th of a mile from the cabin was also a favorite feature. We have stayed in several VRBO cabins over the years in the Pinetop/Lakeside/Show Low area and this was definitely our favorite as far as all the amenities. It's a very comfortable house with so much potential. One last note, a previous reviewer had mentioned a neighbor's dog who kept jumping on the fence. I was on the watch out for this as my dogs don't do well with other dogs. We never encountered dogs from any of the neighbors.

Great spot to get away

Great location. Very close to everything you need in town and still only a block or so from a very nice trail head with a creek to explore and areas to run around in.

Cozy chalet in the pines

Such a great space for groups. So many areas to hand out and sleep. The wood fireplace was a favorite for us. Everything was clean and worked great. The owner provides several space heaters and extra linens, pillows, and blankets. The kitchen came with extra appliances, plenty of utensils, and some basic condiments in the fridge. The owner was very helpful and easy to get ahold of. We would definitely come back again next year!

Great location. Backyard was great. Nice hike very close to property

Loved the house. Would definitely rent again. Only issue is the dog next door that jumps up to see you. The neighbor assured us he wouldn’t come over though it was a little scary at first.

Lovely Arizona Room in the Pines

The property was very well organized and clean. The Arizona room was delightful and where we spent a good deal of time. The beds were comfortable. The updated bath on the downstairs level was very nice. Thank you for making our stay so lovely.
