Welcome to Dolce Vita

If you seek inspiration, privacy, and the best of Pure Michigan, you will find it at Dolce Vita. This whimsical, light-flooded retreat is a delight to the senses! Large picture windows throughout the house offer panoramic views of the deeps woods that are home to deer and the stunning Pileated Woodpeckers. This charming year-round cottage is tucked beneath the canopy of 2 wooded acres, is a short beautiful walk to private beach access, and offers multiple spaces both indoors and out for entertaining and relaxing.

INSIDE THE HOME
The main level has two large gathering spaces - one off the kitchen with vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, and sliding doors to the outdoor lounge and fire pit; the other is a game/media room equipped with comfortable couches and 2-day beds for indoor lounging. Just off the dining room is the second outdoor deck. Enjoy cocktails and meals to the soundtrack of bullfrogs, birdsong, and creaking tree trunks bending to the winds of the lake. The outdoor dining area is complete with lounge seating, a gas grill, and a table for 10.

The property has 4 bikes and the owners encourage guests to take leisurely rides along Lake Shore Drive. Stop to enjoy a stroll and sunsets on the historical Pier Cove beach just 2 miles away; or for the ambitious riders, enjoy a 20-mile round-tripper with a mid-way stop at local breweries.

Perfect Location
This was the perfect location. The house was beautiful and had so many sleeping areas. The kitchen was missing a few key items but otherwise, everything was perfect.

Family and nature connection!
Fabulous home for all ages. We had 4 adults and 3 children (ages 2,9,10) but could have had 2 more adults and been just as comfortable. The kids enjoyed the family room for games and movies. They also loved watching the deer in the woods from the screened in patio and making s’mores in the firepit. The bikes were really nice for the adults to ride and the stairs to the beach are only .2 miles from the house. The sunsets at the lake were gorgeous! We brought paddle boards from home. However, I would recommend some type of water shoes if you want to get into the water. There are a lot of rocks. We also made a visit to Oval Beach which is definitely better for walking. I had a few questions after booking and received a very prompt response. We loved our stay at Dolce Vita!

Beautiful getaway in the forest
We had a fun and relaxing stay. The home is beautifully decorated and well equipped with all the comforts of home! We enjoyed "forest bathing" on both porches and loved the short walk to the beach.

Beautiful property
Five adults and 2 kids and we had a great time. The place is beautiful and the beach access was awesome. Would stay there again.

Our time at Dolce
Our overall experience was fabulous! I did not realize we would be within walking distance to the waterfront, so that was delightful to discover. Not all of the appliances worked which was a bummer- my husband was so looking forward to the fancy espresso machine but there was a sign indicating it wasn’t to be used. Also, the oven door appeared broken so we didn’t use that either. Aside from those very minor things, the house was stunning, location truly beautiful, and many fun things to do in the area. Not only would I recommend it, we look forward to to returning!

Great place to stay. A short walk to a private beach on Lake Michigan.
The house was very clean and modern, close to the beach and a 10 minute drive to Saugatuck. The neighborhood is full of very nice homes, and there are no security concerns. We felt safe and had a great time.

Woodland retrear
We had a great stay at Dolce Vita. Very lovely modern/retro decoration, all the needed kitchen items, even a basket of bug spray, sunscreen , towels and coolers in the entry way. The game room was a great retreat. There is enough couch space for everyone and has two separate living spaces. The home is nestled in the woods and is two home away from access to the beach. Often, on our evening walk to the beach, we passed deer. The home comes with four bikes which made for great rides up and down Lakeshore drive. Easy access to Saugatuck, which is two exits away, fruit picking, and day trips to Holland and South Haven. Overall, a great relaxing trip. We will be back!
