The Space:

Mermaid Bliss is a fabulous newer home with loads of space for a perfect visit to the Lake Michigan Shore. Three levels of living means everyone has their own space but the main level is all open for visiting, dining, watching movies and making meals. The finishes are high end with a beautiful kitchen, sunny porch, and comfy beds with nice linens.

This spacious, nicely appointed home is located in the Miami Park neighborhood.  A short walk away are amazing views of Lake Michigan sunsets and an electric tram to the shoreline. Plenty of yard games and beach gear is provided to allow you to travel lighter. Multiple decks with outdoor furniture beg for you to relax and enjoy the lake breeze with a glass of wine or a favorite book.

The location can't be beat for exploring the areas dining, shopping, wine tasting, etc. A 10 minute drive gets you to downtown South Haven and a 20 minute drive north takes you to the communities of Saugatuck and Douglas. In between are plenty of farm markets, u-pick produce, and family fun!



A Note About the Trams:  Electric trams are available along the bluff to traverse the 90 foot bluff.  The trams are maintained by the neighborhood association, and Shores cannot guarantee that trams will be fully functional every day of your stay.  The association may need to close the trams to address repairs, routine maintenance or recharging the batteries that provide the power to move the platforms.  Guests are asked to follow the tram operating instructions so the trams stay operational for everyone in the neighborhood. 



Miami Park Shoreline:  The shoreline at Miami Park can change from season to season. As of late August, the trams bring you down to an sandy area above the waterline, with stairs & steps into the lake at either end of the sandy area. The most recent photos are shared in the listing. Please note that this property does not have a code for the stairs; please plan to use the tram.

Amazing stay

Perfect location, beautiful home and comfortable accommodations. I wish there were more pots and pans to cook for 12 people. The fireplace also was not working during the stay, which was bit disappointing. But the house is amazing and would stay again!

Relaxing time close to the beach

The house was well stocked. Very clean. Lovely large kitchen. A short walk to the tram at the beach to watch the beautiful sunsets. Dual air conditioning units that worked great. Wonderful relaxing spots on the deck and in the sun room. Easy to work with management company. An all around wonderful time!

I thought the property lives up to its description and promise. We had a great retreat that was very relaxing for myself and my coworkers. Great job on setting up the place for a great environment to relax and relieve ourselves from the daily stress of work. Great job!

We recently stayed at this beautiful property, which accommodated our group of 10 people comfortably. Our stay was significantly impacted by a non-working dishwasher from the first night, forcing us to hand-wash all dishes.Communication with the property management was extremely poor, as they never responded to our messages. Our main point of contact became a handyman who replaced the unit on our final evening—too late to be useful.The resolution process was also frustrating. VRBO informed us they couldn't assist after the rental was over, and the property manager only offered an insufficient resolution after we got VRBO involved.While the property is great, we were very disappointed with the lack of communication and support from the management. We would advise future guests to be prepared for a potential lack of support.

It is a beautiful house. The main floor is spacious and comfortably fits lounging area, dining and kitchen all into one open floor plan.Unfortunately, the property maintenance could be better. The upstairs shower leaks, the exterior of the building and deck are covering in a few seasons worth of dirt/cobbwebs and there is some noticeable wear and tear in other spotsThe lift down to the private beach is slow but useful. There is no stair access. There is only 1 lift key and a 4 person limit which makes getting up and down with a group of 12 tricky.Overall, this was a good stay.

Furnishings were sparse. Could have used reading lamps & lamp tables in living room, sunroom, some bedrooms. A game table for puzzles, etc would have been nice. Linens sparse, could use wastebaskets in each bedroom. Found a dirty blanket in downstairs bedroom which we did wash but took a long time to dry (expected lint catcher to have been cleaned). Only one key for furnicular, lack of pans in kitchen. Most likely would not rent again. Outdoor deck space lacking furniture for 12 guests. No hard feelings, had a nice time but you did ask.
