JUST REMODELED!! BRAND NEW KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM AND BATHROOMS! And what a luxury to dine on the patio and watch the sun set while horses gallop by and birds run into and out of the ocean and neighbors build fires in the sand to say goodbye to the day. Long walks on the beach and around the dunes never ceases to inspire wonder at creation. This beach is full of life - from fishermen to dune buggy enthusiasts to clam diggers and surfers.

This is a Mediterranean two story home with beautiful ocean views. Outside front and back ring cameras and security lights provide added security.

My family and I stayed at this house for a long weekend. We loved that it was right on the beach. There was plenty of room for the eight of us and it had everything we needed. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit.

We stayed in Oceano for the first time on our yearly family vacation. This home accommodated us very well. The location is great, right on the sand. The homeowner is very attentive and communicated with us promptly. The caretaker/housekeeper brought us over some wood for a night time fire. Loved it!!

Our stay at the house was wonderful! It’s located right by the beach, and we had a great time enjoying the ocean. In the evenings, we went into town, which was easily accessible. The house was clean, and the owners were incredibly gracious and amenable. We had no issues with check-in or check-out, and everything went smoothly. Highly recommend!

Perfect beachfront getaway

The place was exactly as pictured. Everyone loved the location and the home. There’s 10 of us and everything the house provided was plenty for all of us. Communication with owner was beyond satisfaction. We would definitely book this house again. Thanks for share your house with us.

Stay right on the sand

This property is all about the location. If you want to be right on the sand this is a great place. It also has a lot of room for those who vacation together. The down sides are that it is stuck in a 1960 time warp and a lot of the “maintenance” has been sloppy or neglected. It needs a total gut of both bathrooms and the kitchen. We had a good stay and the grandchildren loved walking out the back door to play in the sand.

Family beach stay

The property was very nice. Enough space for everyone. Small issue with the use of the coffee maker but we just fixed that by going out for coffee. Also a bit sad that the view we had on the main floor was of a huge wall of sand. If we wanted to enjoy the ocean view we had to go upstair to the balcony. Other than that it was a nice house and we enjoyed our time there.

Good location

The location is great. There were a few problems with the home. Two showers leak. Coffee maker doesn’t work well. We were told right before we left that the dryer wasn’t working. Windows don’t open. No screens on doors. For the price we paid I feel that these things would keep me from coming here again.

UNSAFE/UNCLEAN

DO NOT STAY HERE: Annual girls trip. Unfamiliar with the area. Simply seeking comfy beach time between vineyard visits. Not expecting luxury accommodations, just clean, cared for properly with beach access and views like those they showed in the VRBO property description. Upon entry, noses met with smells described as “cat pee”, “sewer” “musty” . Trying to stay positive, attempted to familiarize ourselves with the house and settle in, we were met with a constant flow of disappointment from the overall condition of the kitchen (I.e. mold in the coffee maker, rancid food in the garbage disposal, dirty utensils, filthy tea kettle, no ice trays or ice maker) sliding door looking out to the mountainous walls of sand so dirty you could barely see through the glass. The once-white patio furniture was nearly black with dirt so much so you would need a few hours to clean it before you could ever sit there and have juice like the deceptive photos show. The carpet dirty/thread bare. Mold on the ceiling of the shared upstairs bathroom. Window hardware in the “yellow” bedroom was so corroded they could not be locked. After the first night we notified the owner of our dissatisfaction with the property. OWNER AGREED IT WAS IN POOR CONDITION and suggested we find a different place to stay. Being graduation weekend in the area we had a hard time finding another place. We were forced to stay a second night. We used Uber and Lyft to go everywhere. This is not a convenient location nor is it safe. Every driver we had told us this was an unsafe area. This was never more true than on the 2nd night when a man attempted to break in and crawl through the main floor bedroom in the middle of the night. The sheriff who came to the property reinforced the fact that this is not a safe area. Many break ins and as he stated: frequently “bodies” sleeping in the alleys and even in the dumpsters when cold. Due to the unsafe, unclean condition of this property, we only stayed two of our four night reservation. Traumatic experience.

Best location for young kids

We’ve stayed in this neighborhood many times but this house right on the beach was perfect for kids and has a nice safety berm of sand to keep the cars away while they play. We will be back.

Beach is fabulous, rental needs a total update

The check-in process was easy and efficient. The house was very out dated, needs a complete update. The carpet is threadbare and stained, both on the stairs and upstairs landing. The bathtub, upstairs, literally had peeling paint and a very rough bottom of the tub. The mold, in the upstairs bathroom, on the ceiling, needs to be addressed. All linens were very clean but every room needs new furniture. There is no a/c and having ceiling fans or at least one fan in the house would help, as the windows don't open, which is very odd. All appliances are also dated and need upgrades. The beach, as we were told, allows cars, we had to keep our heads on a swivel. The fire on the beach was fun. We would not come back, due to the condition of the house, but we enjoyed the beach.

On this beach you can drive your own vehicle, ride horses, fish, surf, boogie board, ride ATVs, view incredible wildlife, and build fires right on the sand. The beautiful dunes, grasslands, and ponds surrounded by gentle, rolling hills frame up an absolutely stunning landscape. And from this fabulous location, world class wineries, golf, hot springs, biking, hiking, and the wonderful Montana de Oro State Park with breathtaking cliffside walks, are are all short drives. It is the perfect place to find both relaxation and adventure, while also serving as a home base to visit many nearby sites. San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Cambria, Heart Castle, and many more attractions are easy day trips. We are thrilled to share this property and unique location with YOU!

To be right on the beach is incredible! And this house is special - 5 houses from the end of the road, this area of Oceano is quiet and serene. The two story house has an ample beachfront patio where you can relax or enjoy grilling and al fresco dining. The second floor has large decks with expansive ocean views. The space could not be more perfect.

When you walk into the house and see the views, there was no turning back. What a luxury to sit on the deck and watch the sun set while horses gallop by and birds run into and out of the ocean and neighbors build fires in the sand to say goodbye to the day. Long walks on the beach and around the dunes never ceases to fill us with wonder. We love the fact that this beach is full of life - from fishermen to dune buggy enthusiasts to clam diggers and surfers. Our enjoyment of this wonderland is only enhanced by watching the enjoyment of others.

The Five Cities are each incredibly unique (Oceano, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach) and there is so much to explore within just a few short miles. Good restaurants and shopping are nearby and world renown attractions are within short driving distance. We never would have guessed that we could find a place like this is California - laid back but full of things to do and beautiful scenery to enjoy.
