Townhomes Near the Bay - #7
Summary:
Oakdale townhomes are located in the quaint town of Grand Bay, AL. This unit is #7. At this newly renovated vacation rental, youâre only 30 minutes away from the white sandy beaches of Dauphin Island, 25 minutes south of the city of Mobile and 40 minutes east of Biloxi, MS. (If you have time, take a day trip to New Orleans, which is only an hour and 45 minutes away!).
We hope you enjoy your stay at Our Townhomes and are able to get out and explore the beautiful Gulf Coast during your visit!
The Space:
In 2018, this 8-unit building underwent a complete renovation where it was stripped down to its bones and redesigned with modern finishes and decor. Each townhome was fully refinished with new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a fully stocked kitchen. Two bright and airy bedrooms and one full bathroom are located upstairs, and one half bathroom is located off the kitchen downstairs.
A small patio off the back of the townhome gives guests a nice outdoor space to grill, lounge and enjoy the spacious backyard.
Guest Access:
This unit is #7 on the far right second from the end . Guests have access to a private patio area with a grill and outdoor furniture. Parking is available directly in front of the unit. There is plenty of green space to walk your leashed dog in the front of the building and in the backyard.
The Neighborhood:
Grand Bay, known as the watermelon capital of Alabama, is a small farming community centrally located to many popular Gulf Coast attractions. It is home to the Grand Bay Watermelon Festival held every year on The Fourth of July when the town gathers to celebrate the Southâs best-tasting watermelon. Fresh Grand Bay-grown watermelon is served by the slice, and the Watermelon Festival Queen is crowned during the beauty contest. There is also live music and small fair rides for the kids.
There are several local eateries in Grand Bay, including hometown favorite Sams Super Burger that serves American classics, and Kitchen of the Sea, the local food truck thatâs often parked in the center of town serving the freshest seafood.
Dauphin Island is a small island situated just off the the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast. Tourists, snow birds and families flock to Dauphin Island year-round for the miles of beaches, the fresh Gulf Coast seafood and world-class deep sea fishing. the Dauphin Island Fishing Rodeo during July brings more than 75,000 spectators to the island for a weekend of fun and sports fishing.
Mobile hosts many events throughout the year, but none compare to Mardi Gras celebrated every spring when tens of thousands join together all around the city for parades, masquerade balls and other fun events surrounding this Southern celebration.
Downtown Mobile has many different attractions that may interest families and tourists, including the USS Alabama battleship docked in Mobile Bay, and Fort Conde, an 18th century fort built by the French during the colonial period. (Both are available to tour.) While youâre exploring downtown, be sure to take a stroll down Dauphin Street to see the old historic buildings of Mobile, many of which are now restaurants featuring the finest Gulf Coast cuisine.
Getting Around:
There is no public transportation in Grand Bay, but the townhomes are located located less than a two-minute drive to grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations.
Other Things to Note:
Pets: No cats allowed! Dogs are allowed with a $100 fee per dog. There is a maximum of two dogs no larger than 75 pounds each. Dogs who are categorized as "dangerous" or "aggressive" according the ASPCA are not allowed. Please let us know if you're bringing your furry friend so we can add the appropriate pet fee, as the Airbnb website does not have a spot for us to add the fee. The fee will be added to the cost of your nightly charge. Guests must keep dogs on a leash when outdoors, and clean up after their pets. Guests who bring a dog without notification could face penalty.
Noise: This is an eight-unit apartment building. This unit is near the right end of the building so you do share two walls with the neighboring units. Therefore you could experience noise from next door.
