Maison près de l'île Dauphin

Courte distance en voiture des plages de sable blanc de l'île Dauphin dans le golfe du Mexique. Venez vous ressourcer en famille dans cette belle maison au bord de l'eau. Aménagement confortable, vérandas grillagées pour sentir les brises légères. Détente et paisible Il dispose de 3 chambres et 3 salles de bains. Une grande zone protégée pour se détendre, faire un barbecue ou jouer au ping-pong. Vous pouvez pêcher depuis le quai ou bronzer en admirant la rivière. Dauphin Island est à environ 15 minutes. Vous pouvez également visiter l'historique Fort Gaines, le Sea Lab et l'Estuarium (avec quelques attractions qui fascineront les enfants). Beaucoup de restaurants et les fruits de mer les plus frais sont juste à côté.
Les jardins historiques de Bellingrath (10 minutes en voiture) avec leurs belles fleurs toute l’année sont un spectacle à voir. Cela prend environ 30 minutes pour se rendre à Mobile avec toutes les attractions là-bas.

Great family getaway on Fowl River. Close to Dauphin Island, Beaches, the Alabama Aquarium and Fort Gaines. Great for families!

What a great house. It’s clean and comfortable. The views are great. The hosts are fantastic. I bought some of the best lump crabmeat I have had in years! The shrimp were great too and I had some shipped to my son in Washington State.

Wonderful getaway

The home was just what we needed. Plenty of room for the entire family. The kids really enjoyed fishing from the pier. We really enjoyed the time together sitting inside the screened porches. Great place with plenty of room to roam!

Beautiful location and home

This house and property was great for two families with kids. Lots of room inside and out, and the ping pong table downstairs was a hit. Host was very friendly and thoughtful, checking in with us before and during our stay. We will definitely suggest this house to others.

Kitchen island had to be wiped down when we got there, missing light bulbs in some fixtures, only 3 lamps in the whole place, no window treatments in living room, back porch needed to be hosed off and furniture needed repainting, no working smoke detectors, house smelled musty and ventilation system was turned off when we got there, no easy way to watch TV, and obviously it wasn't checked by the host before we got there. It was the most disappointing Vrbo that I've stayed in.

Birthday weekend

We were here for a peaceful birthday weekend and this was just the place!! Coffee in the morning on the screened in porch was amazing, and the walk down to the dock, we could have spent the whole day there just watching the wildlife. We went to the Bellengrath gardens for the Chinese lantern fest and it was lovely. Restaurants were crowded so we BBQ ‘d at the house was perfect sitting under the house and still able to visit while cooking. Great place!!

AMAZING

We loved everything about our stay! From fishing off the dock, swinging in the swing, relaxing in the home, to sitting on the balcony watching it rain. It was nothing short of perfect! Such a peaceful atmosphere, we will definitely be visiting again!!

Bayou and Beach!

Wonderful stay in a lovely home with exceptional surroundings! Nature Galore! Loved fishing off the dock at night. Short drive to beautiful beaches. Nice to spend the day at the beach then coming home to our secluded retreat, Fantastic property owners!

Feels like home...

Beautiful and perfect.

Loved staying here. The house was just as pictured and clean. Everything worked, beds were comfortable, and loved the view. Kitchen had everything we needed. Nice and private place and still close to the beach. Even caught some fish from the river.

Perfect off-island spot for Dauphin trip

The house was very clean and provided everything we needed for a weeks stay. The location was perfect - less expensive than staying right on Dauphin Island but about as close as you can get with a Dollar General right down the road for last minute needs. The ping pong table was an added bonus for the kids. Would definitely stay here again! Very private.

Peaceful Escape

We really enjoyed our getaway to this location. Patricia was very helpful and quick to respond when we had questions. It’s an easy 15 minute drive to Dauphin Island...an hour and a half drive to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.

I’m Patricia the owner. My daughter, Kate manages the home.
My husband and I were both born and raised in the Mon Louis Island community. We are both sixth generation fishing folks.
Together we have owned and operated a small seafood business, www.zirlottseafood.com, which is located on Fowl River next door to the River Cottage.
My daughters have stepped up to help with managing the Rental as well as the Seafood Business.

We love the property and purchased it in 2018 from a previous HomeAway host. We think of it as a part of our own home and hope that you will love it, too.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The view of Fowl River is very attractive and peaceful. An exclusive hide away from all the hustle and bustle of traffic and noise.
A large screened area below the house is perfect for outdoor dining or playing ping pong, or just relaxing. There is also a screened upstairs porch, that is good for dining while viewing the river or reading, and just resting, etc.
There is plenty of shade trees and breezes to enjoy. The sunsets make a beautiful ending to your day at the River.
When returning from the beach we ask that you please just use the hose in the garage to rinse off some of the sand. And if you plan to wash your beach towels and sandy swimwear, please shake out as much sand as possible, as the sand can damage the washing machine and dryer.
The spacious house is very comfortable with AC and heat.
