LOG CABIN ON STURGEON RIVER

This family log cabin in the woods sits on the Sturgeon River, close to downtown Indian River and I-75. Indian River has access to the 2 largest inland lakes in the state, Burt Lake and Mullet Lake. You can put in your non motorized watercraft off the small dock and float to Burt Lake, or your larger boat at the nearby public boat launch.

This home is built as a family retreat, perfect to rejuvenate and be close to nature, yet it’s an easy walk or bike ride to downtown Indian River. This is a half hour drive to Mackinaw City, Gaylord, Petoskey, Harbor Springs. There is plenty to do and plenty of nothing to do, hang a hammock by the river, enjoy the sound of the water, read a book or take a nap.

The home has an open floor plan and completely furnished. There is wifi, TV in the living room has Roku with Disney+, Hulu, etc, DVD/VCR player with movies found in the cabin. Washer and dryer location is unconventional. The large washer is located in the main floor under the stairs. The large dryer is upstairs in the loft.

Pets are not allowed for guests but know that the owners bring their cats/dogs in when they come up. Those with pet allergy especially to cats and dogs must be aware.

This is also non childproof therefore not recommended for small kids, and not handicap accessible due to presence of stairs to enter.

Additional rules - Do not use fireplace.
There is an outdoor firepit with wood for guest use.
Be respectful of the house and neighbors
Always place trash in large trash bin as night critters will get in those.
Before leaving, wash all dirty dishes, place garbage inside large trash
bin outside.
Small dock in the river off limits in the winter.

Bedroom 2 – 1 full size bed, 2 twin size beds
Common spaces – 1 couch

No pets on the property at any time
We supply enough paper towel, toilet paper, trash bags, etc to get your started but bring your own supplies
Parking available for 4-5 vehicles, less if trailers present
Minimum 3 days stay

Other things to note
TV does not have cable. Roku is installed and choice movies are available.
