Historic Manteo - "The Roost"

Welcome to "The Roost"! Located on Roanoke Island and a quick drive from the beaches of Nags Head. Nightly stays welcome (minimum of a 3-night stay required) The home is pet-friendly and non-smoking.

Local: Steps from the waterfront in historic downtown Manteo, a quaint little town rich in attractions, fun, and local history. The perfect location close to a multitude of homegrown shops, galleries, historic site and some of the region's most celebrated restaurants and even our own island rum distillery.

Accommodations: Be charmed at our home. Sunny, open, and spacious only begin to describe your Roost experience. The living area offers plenty of room to entertain and gather with friends. Open dining area and well stocked kitchen with granite countertops, stainless appliances and bar space await the inner chef in all.

Entertainment: Wireless internet, 4 Smart TV's (no cable), DVD, large leather couch. Outer Banks History Center, Roanoke Island Festival Park and Manteo's Pioneer Theater all are steps from the front door.

Details: 4 bedroom, 2 bath home has everything you need for a great vacation.
Each bedroom boost a queen bed, and connects to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom connecting to the next bedroom.

Sleeps 8. Bed and bath linens included in nightly rental rate.

The Roost was a perfect spot for enjoying the Outer Banks from a quiet, beautiful, ideal location spot. Loved the easy walk to downtown Manteo with ease access to shopping and dining.

Just right

We have never been to Manteo, and so glad we stayed in this house. A perfect location. Short walk to everything in the historic district. Quiet neighborhood, a pretty location. Clean and spacious house.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay in Manteo! The Roost was perfectly located near downtown, but was quiet at night. It was the perfect location to both hit beaches on OBX and enjoy Roanoke Island. The house had all the amenities we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Not what we expected

After a late check in the home wasn’t clean. Just an fyi, Front area of home had a hard time keeping up with the temperatures. We stayed during a heat wave with crazy high humidity. The home is in a great location. Walkable area. Floors creek.

This spot was great. The town of manteo was wonderful so much stuff to do by just walking around the town and the views of the sound were breath taking.

Great Vacay

My family absolutely loved staying here. The layout was spacious and inviting. The amenities were exactly as described and the check-in/checkout process was both smooth, and efficient. The location was perfectly nestled in a quiet community within walking distance of downtown Manteo, but within a reasonable driving distance of many local attractions, activities, and communities.

Family Fun!

This property was clean and spacious, amazingly convenient to all things Manteo and only minutes from all the things on our list; Wright Brothers, Jockys Ridge, Lighthouses, the beachfront and more! We would gladly stay again!

Nice weekend with my family

The location was perfect. Basically across the street from downtown and the festival park. We visited both. Friday night you could hear the bluegrass so we brewed coffee and enjoyed it in the pavilion across the street. We also walked to the farmers market and did the ghost tour. Parking only accommodates one car which was ok for us but is probably the only challenge. Really nice stay.

Great location

Loved our stay. Clean and comfortable house. Although there is only one space for a car, there is public parking right across the street. Just a few steps to shops and restaurants. Quiet neighborhood.

Perfect for families

We enjoyed our stay at The Roost! The property was well equipped and perfect for two families. We had everything we needed to host Thanksgiving, and the kids loved running up and down the hall. Our pups even loved the huge dog bed! The location was also perfect right in downtown Manteo which made for lots of great walks down the docks, and around town!

Great location

Location in Manteo with quick walking access to town and Festival Park. Great place for early morning exercise. Set up for 4 queen beds worked well for our family. Parking for one vehicle and limited supply paper towels (1 roll) and toilet paper (2 rolls 1 for each bathroom). Could improve bathing towels. Overall a really good stay.

The Roost

I have recommended this place to my family and friends. It was clean, dog friendly, and spacious for our crew. Adorable little walkable town close to many attractions but quiet enough for us to feel at home.
