Welcome to the Surf & Stay Hale | Kona Bali Kai #219

Enjoy stunning ocean views, world-class surf, and unforgettable Kona sunsets—all from the comfort of your private lanai. This well-appointed 2-bedroom, 2-bath oceanfront condo is the perfect home base for your Big Island vacation. The primary bedroom features a king bed and en-suite bathroom, while the guest bedroom offers a queen bed. A queen sofa bed in the living room provides additional sleeping space. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home, and beach gear—including chairs, towels, and a cooler—is provided for your convenience. Additional snorkel and beach equipment is available for rent nearby.

Kona Bali Kai has a resort style pool, hot tub, private parking, oceanfront lawn, BBQ area, and on site deli called Da Poke Shack.

One of Kona's most popular stretches for runners, walkers and bicyclists, and is well-known for being the start of the marathon leg of the Ironman World Championship.
For golfers, the Kona Country Club is a 5 to 10 minute drive to the south and for the anglers, Kona is famous for its world class deep sea fishing. Kona Bali Kai is centrally located between Kailua town and Keauhou Shopping Center, offering several restaurants, cinemas, groceries, drug store, clothing and other shopping.

The most stunning feature of the unit is the view overlooking the tidal pool and the ocean, which is perfect for watching sunsets. The unit was very comfortable for two couples. It is very well maintained and clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. A bonus was all the beach equipment in the storage box on the balcony, which included beach chairs, umbrellas, buggy boards, snorkeling equipment, etc. I highly recommend the host Big Island Stays and the unit.

The condo is quite nice with stunning sunset views. It is fully equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need. Check-in was very easy and the management company very attentive to making sure everything was in perfect order. We loved having our breakfast on the balcony as we watched surfers catching waves. In the evenings the sunsets were amazing! Like most places on the island you definitely need a car to get around...a few places were walking distance but not much. Our only disappointment was the swimming pool and outside area of the complex...it definitely needs some upgrades and maintenance

Best location and view

The home was so comfortable and they had everything we needed like a parasol buggy boards, sand toys, we felt right at home my husband played his music a bit louder than I would appreciate and the neighbors would make anyone proud by not making a big deal, I’m impressed and will be hopefully staying here in the near future

Beautiful view, great stay!

The home is fully stocked with everything you need, including many beach items. The view is beautiful and location is quiet but close to shops and restaurants which is convenient. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Dream trip to Kona!

We stayed here for the Ironman World Championship, and it couldn’t have been any better! It was the perfect location and setting, any questions I had were answered immediately, and I was able to listen to the waves and relax. I would highly recommend this location for the Hawaiian vacation you dream of.

Location location location!!!!

Loved this rental. The patio overlooked the ocean. Beach is just steps away. Enjoyed watching turtles swim in coves. Rental was very nice, up to date amenities. Had to reach out to the owner about something. Called back within 5 min and was very helpful. Would definitely stay at the rental if I ever make my way back here.

Big Island Paradise

Could not have asked for a better location and the setting was beautiful. Kitchen was well stocked and equiped. Place was very quiet at night and we were lucky enough to be there during a full moon. Spent lots of hours on the lanai watching the sunsets and moon setting. Probably would rank within the top 5 of my vacations.

Fabulous views of the ocean!

We had a really wonderful time, the views of the ocean, beautiful sounds of the waves 24/7 and watching sunset from the patio was just an awesome experience. Amenities were great, A/C was a relief on one of the hotter days. Lots of beach toys, chairs, umbrella etc. was great for beach visits. Safeway and restaurants were are 10 mins. Overall a great vacation, we will book again!

Lovely!

This unit was everything it was supposed to be. It was the most completely furnished place we have ever stayed at. Everything we needed was there. There was an issue with the grill, but it was addressed and handled quickly. The linens were wonderful, the dishwasher top quality and quiet, as were the wonderful washer and dryer. This one was a great pick! Very well maintained property!

Great place to stay with family!

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. Location is central to Kona and there was ample parking. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. It was quiet at night and we had no trouble falling asleep. The AC was on a 4-hr timer, which is no big deal. We only used the AC to cool the condo down before going to sleep. Furniture was outdated, but it adds to the island feel. The couch wasn’t very comfortable to sit on but we didn’t spend much time inside. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend!

Perfect in every way!

Wow, wow, wow, we miss it already! The lanai was enormous and had two separate sliding doors to the living room and master bedroom. We fell asleep to the waves each night with the screen door and had every breakfast and dinner out on the lanai with the stunning sea and sunset views. We also saw sea turtles from the lanai and used this as the perfect home base for each separate day trip. The two bed/two bath setup with in suite laundry and full, well-stocked kitchen made for the perfect setting with the perfect view in the perfect location! We certainly hope to be back one day!

This condo was perfect - there's an amazing view just outside the lanai, overlooking the surf. The sound of the surf was very soothing.My only slight criticism is that the air conditioner isn't powerful enough for the space. The main living room was cooled down enough but it never made it to the bedrooms. But that's only a slight issue. The rest of the place was great.

Wonderful stay at KBK 219

We love Kona Bali Kai (KBK) and try to come every couple years. Sharon & Lynn have 2 units at KBK and both are in great shape. We were able to see whales and a lot of turtles from the Lanai. Lynn provides a detailed welcome letter and we decided to check out the beaches that were in the welcome letter. They all turned out to be some of the best hidden gems we have ever found in Kona. Lynn also has a very fast internet connection in the unit and if you use Netflix they have a Blue-Ray player with the Netflix app enabled on it. It was definitely tough to leave KBK and come back to Bay Area traffic. We will definitely be back.

Kona Bali Kai #219

The highlight of the unit is how it looks out onto the Pacific. As you walk in, you immediately see the ocean through the sliding doors at the opposite end. The lanai is 30 feet from the shoreline, overlooking a tidal pool. We stayed at Kona Bali Kai for almost three weeks and never got tired of the whales, the waves and the sunsets. The unit itself is clean and well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped. The furniture was comfortable, but a bit dated. It could use some modernizing. The unit manager, Tim, was responsive and helpful when we needed some extra supplies.

Disappointing

The location & price are amazing. Unfortunately, the apartment is poorly furnished. All the furniture is very uncomfortable. Sofa & chair in livingroom are painful to sit on. Outdoor sofa & chairs: same story. Beds are very cheap/poor quality. Not even a box spring under the master bed. It's more like a cot. I could feel the springs poking me all night. Sheets were stained, floor was so dirty our feet were black within a few hours of checking in. Noisy neighbors on all sides. I guess you get what you pay for. Sadly, we will not be back.
