Hi Joy, After messaging/speaking with you about 10 times before and during your stay, to say I am shocked at your review is an understatement. You did let me know that you had surgery and I went to my house and measured the width, depth, and number of the outside stairs and took pictures of them for you. After discussing that you could go halfway up and take a break as the stairs are wide and sturdy, your reply was and I quote "Yes, I can do 6 at my house with no issues, so I know this will be ok". Your review implies that I misled you which is simply not true. You made the decision to come based on the accurate information that I went above and beyond to provide for you. You told me about your walker which was why I measured the steps to make sure you could use it, but you never once mentioned a wheelchair in all of the times we communicated. Our door openings are standard, just like the vast majority of homes unless they have been constructed according to ADA standards. Our first floor shower is extra large, has a sliding door, and a bench across the entire back. You were my 17th renter of the summer and not 1 other person has mentioned nails on the deck or bugs in the house. I even called this week's renter to inform her of your concerns last week and her reply was "we haven't noticed either". I'm certainly not saying you didn't see a bug or there weren't any nailheads on the deck. I am sure you probably did. Beachfront rentals require constant upkeep and had you let us know about either of those things we would have dealt with them promptly. I am also empathetic to your surgery and recovery. However, what appears to me to have happened here, is that you probably weren't ready to travel and would have been uncomfortable in any home and unfortunately stayed in mine and took it out on me in a review. We were quick and pleasant to respond to you and resolved literally every concern you brought up. Your choice of words and implications are unkind, unfair, hurtful and disappointing. We will continue to provide the same level of service that we have successfully provided for over 30 years, knowing that every so often there will be a renter like you.
