We're newlyweds who designed & remodeled every inch of this fixer-upper, our first house. Now Sable House is ready for you!

Perfect for small groups, the open-concept floor plan allows you to cook and entertain seamlessly. Create delicious meals in the brand new kitchen w/farmhouse sink. Unwind in our spacious living room or one of three unique bedrooms, each with their own smart TV. Lounge in the light-drenched sunroom or play yard games on the sweeping deck. The possibilities are endless!

When we saw this ugly duckling house for the first time, we looked past the old tiles, cramped kitchen, and awkward layout and saw what it could be. We put our lives on hold so we could transform Sable House into a special place for you to enjoy!

Family reunion

My family loved the cleanliness and location of the house. It’s a quiet neighborhood and so easy to find. There’s a lot to do if you want to go out to eat or shop. Mall is close by as well. Thank you Tiffany we love how your house is so homey!

THE BEST STAY!

Mrs. Tiffany really did her thing with this house! my friends and I really enjoyed our stay. We could not stop discussing how the beds were comfortable, the decorations were cute, AND we got slippers a robes! We ran out of toilet paper and Tiffany and her husband drove up in less than 30 minutes just to give us some. I honestly did not expect them to do that but we are very grateful.

Family Time

The property was spacious with 3 bedrooms and a sunroom. The beds were pretty comfortable. The water pressure and temperature were great. One must take great care getting into and out of the master tub by using the handrail and stepping stool as the clawfoot tub is very deep. We used the washer and dryer quite a bit. There were plenty of bath towels. Amazon Fresh was very close; we walked there a lot, and it was never crowded. Target and other stores are close as well. The neighborhood is older with mostly modest homes in decent shape, but the house next door has a lot of neglected items in the yard. The grill was broken when we arrived. Tiffany sent her husband to fix it at the end of our first week. He had to get new parts, but did get it to work. Tiffany also had to bring us kitchen towels on the second day as the cleaning service had not left them. It took four days for her to bring garbage bags, though. She offered to replace the missing oven mitts, but my daughter brought her own. As others have mentioned, the home seems to be a DIY renovation. It is quite cute, with a good amount of space, but one should be cautious with bare feet on the floors as there are some exposed nailheads. Overall, we had good family time and were quite comfortable in the house. Tiffany and her husband were responsive to our needs.

Clean & Comfortable

Property was as advertised. Easy access to the property. The house is very user friendly. Kitchen was supplied w/ ample staple items. Cabinets were labeled indicating what was within them. This was a nice feature, no looking everywhere for that certain item you needed. Heat/Ac and Hot water were great and functioned properly. Everything was clean and freshly maintained. Great choice for families or friends stays. Grocery store and numerous restaurants all nearby. Consider this house when staying in the Pasadena area!

Fabulous house, fabulous owner

Our visit to Pasadena was incredible and the house was a big part of that stay. The house was exactly as listed on the website. Beautifully appointed, clean and easy. Keyless entry was perfect for us. The perfect house for us to relax with family after a long day of fun in LA.

Perfect for a family stay.

This property comes as advertised. It sets up very nicely for a family stay. Plenty of room. Complete central kitchen. Comfortable rooms. Nice bathrooms and showers. Wi-Fi and screens in every room. Will definitely stay here again.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

We decided to put our wedding on hold to purchase a house instead. We saw this fixer-upper and decided this was the one! We named our home Sable House for its striking charcoal color, but when we first laid eyes on it, it was a strange yellow house. Built in 1926, it had seen better days. The house felt small with its closed-in walls, cramped layout, and misuse of space. It had awkward windows in the bathrooms that looked into the living spaces, wobbly and uneven floors, and was badly remodeled a few times with cheap and ugly materials. Besides its cosmetic issues, it also had old (and dangerous!) electrical wiring, rusty cast iron plumbing, no insulation, no A/C, and just a ton of things that made zero sense. Still, out of all the houses we had seen, we knew this one was a gem just waiting to be uncovered. We fell in love with it and decided we would do our best to redesign, modernize, and bring out its full potential. We brought the house into 2021 and updated everything to today's standards. We knocked down walls, ripped out all of the bathrooms, restored and replaced windows, redesigned the kitchen, relocated the washer & dryer, built a deck, grew a lawn, and so much more. Not an inch of the house was left untouched. We mixed old with the new wherever we could, wanting to preserve the original charm of the house as much as possible. After 6 long months of renovation, we finally got to furnish and decorate the house with some of our favorite pieces. Some were bought from expensive designer stores and other items were thrifted heirlooms or handmade pieces from local artists. We ended up more than doubling our initial budget and time frame, but in the end we felt it was worth it. After all the stress, time, and cost, we hope that our efforts can be seen in all the extra little details we put into Sable House to make this a truly unique experience for you.

One of our favorite features is the huge outdoor space in the backyard! The sunroom used to be a shed that we converted, adding french doors and windows to create the perfect indoor/outdoor experience. We designed and built the sweeping deck from scratch that connects the sunroom to the main house. Inside, you'll find a custom acacia accent wall, a brand-new modern kitchen, and furnishings and decor that were all hand-picked—pieces from high-end designer stores, thrifted vintage family heirlooms, or even handmade items made by local artists. Our goal was to create the perfect cohesive space to make your stay as fun, relaxing, and comfortable as possible.
