A little piece of paradise, this is a rustic county ranch, a place near the sky to breathe fresh air, hear the birds sing, fish if you like fishing, enough space to walk among the trees and enjoy nature, if you are lucky you will see the deer or wild pigs . The cabin has a wooden fireplace, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with separate Jacuzzi and shower, kitchen, living room and dining room, it can sleep up to 4 people, 1 bed for 2, and a sofa bed for 2. The property has a pool, a barbecue gas grill and tables for a small pool party (There will be an extra charge for each person over 4 adults and 2 children, or 2 adults 4 children over 12 years old. More than 6 people is considered a party and it is charged differently, the septic system is not enough and they have to put a portable toilets.

This is a unique house all wood, there is no loose domesticated animal, some times there are deers and wild hogs on the property, the property is out side of the city limits but is close to the city, 15 minutes from wall mart. We had a great time. Close enough to Canton and Terrell to enjoy both of these small towns. Had a great time fishing in the pond and exploring around the area. We will be back!

Beautiful retreat!

Some might consider this a gem in the rough because it comes off a little rustic, but this place is awesome! We had so much fun! The property is really pretty, the cabin is quaint but fun. The bed looked iffy in the picture but is Sooooo comfortable. The Shower (not shown in pictures) is really fun with the morning light streaming in, and Gilberto is a great host! We are not in that area often but we look forward to an excuse to return soon! Highly Recommended!!

Eclipse chasers

There was a mix up with rental being double booked. Instead of cabin we reserved 15 months earlier, we were housed in a house apparently used as part of venue operations. It certainly was not what we expected but we made the best of it! It was clean and bed was comfortable so we chose to overlook the minor hiccups. Most importantly it was a great eclipse viewing site and the actual eclipse experience was extraordinary! All staff members were very kind and welcoming.

Memorial Day weekend

Great little place. The cabin was just like description. Lots of ponds and acres to explore. The swimming pool and patio area were great. There is a gas grill but we did not use. The property is in the country but only about 15 minutes in all directions to town. We celebrated my sons 14th birthday there he and his friend really enjoyed swimming and exploring the property. The cabin was clean and everything you need was provided. The bed and pullout couch were comfortable and jacuzzi bath was great. There was a hot tub by the pool but was not operational during our stay. No luck fishing but had fun trying. Was a great weekend and our family would consider staying again. Gilberto was great at responding and easy to get in touch with.

It was a pleasure having Michael and his family, they followed all the rules, took out the trash and left everything clean, hopefully they will visit us again.

AWFUL!!!!

The list of what was wrong is tooooo long to type out. It is not a place that anyone should even consider staying!!!! Between the short hair found in the shower, the dead cat, the fleas, the mold on the walls, the leakey roof, the water roaches, the workers at the building next to our lunch table, the nasty uncleaned grill that could not be used, etc.....this is just a short list of what happened to me....oh, the smoke alarm beeped the whole time!!! As I was leaving the property the maintenance man stopped me and said, "Oh I'm sorry for that. I've been gone for a week so I didn't know." Then proceeded to tell me that his co-worker was around the property that morning.....THAT'S WHO WAS WALKING AROUND THIS MORNING"....UNBEKNOWNST TO ME AS I HEARD SOMETHINE THAT I THOUGHT WAS A CAT OR CRITTER......... WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!! DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER STAYING!!!! TRUTH BE TOLD THIS PROPERTY SHOULD NOT EVEN BE LISTED AS A VRBO AS IT IS NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF VACATION RENTALS ON THEIR WEBSITE. Because I didn't feel comfortable putting my luggage and belongings on the floor I kept them on one side of the bed. As I was transferring my belongings to my vehicle my coffee mug spilled on the quilt. I immediately cupped cold water in my hands and soaked it up, than pulled the quilt and sheets away from the mattress. I told the maintenance man as I was leaving and he said not to worry about it that he would take care of it and to have a good day. I responded by stating I would because I was leaving.

We feel very frustrated with guests like this, it is not fair all the work involved for someone with a heart like that to do this, with what interest, we do not know but we think there is something else behind. The truth is that she is lying we do not agree on anything she sainng here, In the house there has never been mold and the alarm never beeps unless there is smoke inside the room, the cat we do not know where it came from is not from us but the guest fed it and that is why it approached the house, the water lick that she mentions is somenthig very small the unless you look for it on purpose, it will not be see it, by the behavior of this person we believe that there are other personal interests, we think it is someone from the competition who does not like us to be there, cockroaches have never see one at any in 15 years, despite that it is ranch in the country with a lot of water, weeds where there are all kinds of wild animals and that if the guests leave the door open they are going to enter the house, there just to be carpet on the flor but but we decided to remove it because it was very difficult to keep it clean, the concrete floor is much easier to keep clean, an which is cleaned with chlorine after each reservation. The report that the worker gave us was that the lady was very distressed by her spilled the coffee on the bed and we believe that she is one of the people who would rather blame others than accept that they made a mistake plus we think she did it in porpuse.

Definitely coming back.

Gilberto was there when we arrived for a quick welcome. He was very gracious. This house is on a huge peice of property. He holds events so there are other structures but none are anywhere near the actual house where we stayed, they were waaaay on the other side. There were no events while we were there (hell tell you if there is something planned). We were left alone the entire 5 days! We had 24/7 access to the pool, and all the ponds, and there are SEVERAL for fishing. Lots of space to explore! The house was SUPER clean! The floors, the countertops, bathroom, linens, appliances, everything was very clean. It smelled good. The kitchen was equipped with literally everything. It accommodated my family of four just fine. The pool is underneath a bunch of trees, which are maintained. There was a windstorm, so we did have to spend a good 20 mins using the net to clean up the pool the next day, which was totally fine. There is no "room service," or "staff" on site, so if you're looking to be waited on, this isn't the place for you. That's part of being secluded! Which is what we wanted. Gilberto was just a call away if we did need anything. He was very nice, and is a family man. Also, when you pull up to the property, there is a big gate with a code, so we felt extra safe when we left during the day. Myself, my husband, and our 5 year olds twins did not want to leave! It was perfect for us, and we will be going back!

Unique cute cabin

My family of four enjoyed our stay at this guest/pool house. The cabin is rustic and very unique. There was plenty of space and everything we needed. The bed was comfy and the jacuzzi tub was amazing.

Fun area and hidden little oasis

We enjoyed the frog ponds and watching all the little critters, the bathtub and unique aesthetic were great. Would recommend for sure. Though it would be helpful to have a picture of the house itself and not just the neighboring property.

Great Family Friendly Property

This house was wonderful to stay at! My husband & I stayed with our 2 young children and newborn and it was a delightful experience. We enjoyed the pool (and jacuzzi tub when the pool got too cold 🙂), fishing in the many ponds, walking the trail on the property, grilling on the porch, and just enjoying the scenery and serenity of it all. At the time of our stay there were workers during the day, but they kept to theirselves and were not a bother to us. The owner was very helpful and accommodating to answer any questions and even wait for our arrival to show us around. I highly recommend this owner & property for a relaxing getaway from busy life!

My daughter and I do an annual getaway and we loved the atmosphere of this place. We did a beautiful photo shoot outside while we were there. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We appreciated the hospitality.

Highly Unique Property!

43 acres and a pool all to ourselves. Rustic property, very kind host. I recommend this highly to anyone who likes privacy and doesn’t need anything fancy. We had a great time!

Great place

We brought our 2 children, it was nice having a private pool and place to cook. This is our second time staying. If you want fancy thus isn’t the place for you, but if you want practical and private, this is your place, just bring a couple extra towels.

Hidden Gem in NE Texas

Pretty Place but Needs Better Description/Update Pictures

Enjoyed my stay overall the host was friendly there where some nice little cats you can visit with, listing does need updated. You dont stay in the house in the pictures your actually staying in a guest house, had to clean pool ourselfs/ not any trails but theres walk around space, i booked this place for the pool & how the house looked & 100% for privacy but we got none the owners were working on the land/threw party with other random people but i wasn't told in description the owner would be on the property with us. Over all a nice place besides the fact i didnt get what I payed for and the pictures where misleading but i enjoyed it the most i could because of my partner.
