"Bay Beginnings"

Welcome to this beautiful, newly constructed bay front home on Broadkill Beach!! With all of the views, your stay will be the beginning of a lifetime of love for Broadkill and its beautiful beaches.

Enter through the ground level and walk up (or use the private elevator) to the second floor with three of the four bedrooms. There is a primary bedroom with a King bed and private bathroom as well as two additional bedrooms that share a full bathroom.

The top floor has an open living area with kitchen and dining space as well as an additional bedroom with a private bathroom.

Take in unobstructed views of the beach and water from the large screened in porch and open decks. The owners have even fenced in the yard for your furry friends.

Dog Friendly with non-refundable fee and signed addendum (1 dog allowed unless previous approval from owner) Ask your agent for details

All guests must supply their own sheets, towels and beach towels or OPT in for our linen rental package.

Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO.

The property must be occupied for the entire rental period by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement (Responsible Guest), and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Responsible Guest. The Responsible Guest must be at least 25 years of age. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental where the Responsible Guest is NOT the legal guardian/parent of any other guests), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.

VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as Owner on VRBO. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked you will be contacted by the management company and sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed. Apart from Damage Protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking.

It is a beautiful house, well kept and thoughtful design. We lived on the screened porch and loved the amazing view visible from all the living area. The elevator was perfect for moving 97 year old parent who cannot manage steps. One small point is the very cushy beds may not be to everyone’s preference if they prefer a firmer sleeping site. House manager was great, responding quickly to any questions. Location was wonderful, handily next to the market, and plenty of parking. Neighbors friendly. It was a wonderful, relaxing week.

The Perfect House For Our Family

We love it here notwithstanding all the traffic. Good restaurants, good activities for the grandkids, beach access steps away from the house, Old World Bread a short ride, and a house full of great amenities. We'll be back as often as they can accommodate us!

We had the best time staying in this gorgeous house! Super close to the beach & the Broadkill store. Our pups loved the multiple decks & the fenced yard! Hope to stay again next year!

Wonderful stay!

We had a tremendous stay at the property. The location was great and very quiet, outside of the more busy beach areas, which are only 20-30 minute drive away. The house was immaculately clean and the fenced-in yard and elevator were convenient for our senior pup. The view of the bay and ability to walk right out onto the beach, or enjoy from the screened-in porch were highlights! Would definitely stay again

Lovely home with magnificent view!

We were delighted when we arrived for our family’s Christmas getaway to find the house completely decorated for Christmas! The view was beautiful, the home was spacious, up-to-date, with a fully equipped kitchen. Highly recommend!

Everything I needed

Warm, welcoming owners and an upscale, well-appointed house with 180-degree views of the bay in front of you. Ocean sounds, deck, sunsets....fun at the country store and the pups could come too! It was everything I needed.

Nice place!

Family vacation (6 adults, 2 children under 3, dogs) We were all very comfortable and access to beach was steps away. The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed to cook in. The screened in upper deck was perfect! We didn’t encounter the biting flys except for one particularly hot afternoon so we were grateful for that! Overall a really nice place to stay! The only suggestion…The outside decks could’ve been a bit cleaner.

Family Getaway

The property was great. Plenty of Room. Great View if the beach. Overall stay was very good. The only negative was that we found out that we had to provide our own linens, bedsheets, pillow cases, toilet paper and paper towels. We have never stayed in a property that we had to bring our own items for comfort. I thought that was strange. Probably would have been a deal breaker if we had known that before booking. However, we made the best of it and had a great time. The property itself is very nice.

Our experience at Bay Beginnings

Away from the commercialized areas of the DE coast but easy access to retail shops from Broadkill Rd. Beds were very comfortable. Views were gorgeous. Kitchen well stocked. We were disappointed in the cleanliness however. Spider webs and spiders were everywhere in the main living area. All corners of the main living area had webs with spiders. The living room smelled like dog pee and was nauseating at times depending on the way the breeze was blowing. Bedspreads in master (including the back up bedspreads) were dirty with food and hair on them. WiFi was very glitchy and there is no cable in any of the bedrooms. There is streaming however if you have accounts to log into. Access to the beach was great and the Broadkill shop was a nice bonus for items and food. Besides the overall cleanliness we enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic Week at the Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was pretty much everything we expected: modern, clean, adequate for our party of 7 and 2 dogs. It was that and more: the view from the main living area with its screened in porch is SPECTACULAR!!! We did this trip in no small part as a farewell to our oldest dog...who loves a good beach...and who is at the end stage of degenerative myelopathy, where he cannot walk on his own and will have to be put down soon. TLDR...the fenced in yard and the elevator were big selling points for this reason. And both proved to be invaluable. The elevator with or without a disabled dog is REALLY nice...especially as we had one elderly parent with us, too. But in addition to all that...the house was just great. Bed rooms and beds and bathrooms were all fantastic. The kitchen was good...not spectacular if you're a family of chefs like we are. But it was more than adequate.A few things I wish the owner would fix: light over the stove did not work; light over the island is terribly inadequate and needs to be rewired; several sliding doors, windows and cabinets need minor repairs. We reported all of this immediately to the rental agent, but nothing was done, while we were there. Nor was there any offer to reduce our fee. (Besides that, however, I would say that the rental agent was otherwise very helpful and responsive in general.)But overall...the house is fantastic. The location is fantastic. The view is fantastic. The way the house is fitted out with furniture and bedding and bits of art makes the place feel immediately like a home filled with love. We were sad to leave and hope to return some day.

Reviewer Comments: Our vacation time with our son, daughter, son-in-law and our grandkids Ellie and Cole has become a family tradition for us over the past 8 years (and in this house for the last 2 years) and we have made many lasting memories during these times together. We feel very lucky to have found Broadkill Beach and this house. We love the amenities in the house and especially the decks overlooking the beach. Less traffic on Route 1 would be nice, but it's tolerable. We hope for more family vacations in this house in future. Love my family and our time together at the beach and in this house!!

Beautiful Beach Front Home on Broadkill

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is awesome. There was a problem with the prior tenants not taking the recycling out. We had no room for our recycling. The trash cans also were full except for one during the tropical storm. All the recycling blew all over the property and we had to clean it up. Other than that we love the house the location we were told the owners are retiring, so I guess this is going off the rental market, so will be looking for another property when that happens we would like something similar. Also looking for some dates next September. A tropical storm came Friday, scary!

Reviewer Comments: We were required to pick up a packet at the real estate office in Lewes even though the house has access codes and I explained we were traveling with an infant and a 3 year old. Having stayed at the house before, we were aware of the remote locks and told the desk agent that no key should be required for entry. She responded that we needed a key - simply not true. There was no key in our packet, simply a code written on our packet (which was left in an unsecured box at the rental office - we arrived after the office was closed.)The views from the house are spectacular and the house is well furnished.There was maintenance needed during our stay and the owner was very responsive in getting the major problem fixed quickly.In addition to a damage report, it would be helpful if the management company asked for a “required maintenance report.” There were items that simply needed maintenance, but were not related to “damage.”We thank the owners for sharing their house with us and letting our dogs stay too!
