If you are looking for the perfect getaway on the Buffalo National River, you have found it here at The Boxley House. Nestled right in the heart of the valley, elk viewing doesn’t get any better! Located only 2 miles from Lost Valley trail and 3 miles from the Ponca bridge, hiking and floating are right outside your door!

Recently renovated, this farmhouse is equipped with all the modern amenities including central heat and air, as well as new appliances, along with WiFi and Netflix. You simply can not beat the location!

Ponca is less than 5 minutes away where you can access the Ponca Low Water bridge and the Buffalo River trail. Lost Valley trail, Hawksbill Crag, Centerpoint Trailhead, and Steele creek are only a short drive away. Wilderness Rider Buffalo and Adventure Park is just up the road and there is plenty of space to park your trucks and trailers! If you are looking to float or hike the Upper Buffalo River area, or just relax in the peaceful valley, you will not be disappointed at The Boxley House!

The host was very helpful and responsive. The amenities were more than adequate for a cabin or home in a wilderness area. The location was perfect for all of the activities I was interested in, including hiking and wildlife photography.

This was our second stay at the Boxley Valley house, and we’re already making plans for a third stay. The house is very clean and well-stocked, and the location is perfect for watching elk. We had a great time!!

The home was locate where you seen mountains & fields. They thought of everything one might need. It just felt like home. So many places to hang out outside if you would like. We scene elk 3 different times & 7 deer 1 time down the road, nightly we scene turkeys. It was a place to relax & unwind but close enough to hike & explore if you wish.

Perfect weekend getaway

We visit the Ponca/Jasper area quite a bit. We absolutely loved this house and location. It had EVERYTHING you need. The perfect place to relax and enjoy family and nature.

Very nice little house. Peaceful, clean. Near a couple swimming holes on the Buffalo and Steel Creek. Ponca and Jasper nearby. Saw elk on two of three days just right down the road.

Jeep Trip

We came for a trip in the Jeep to do some country roads sight seeing. There were a couple of places that we didn't make it to due to the rain and high water.The Boxley House was a good centralized location for all of our travels. Triple falls and car wash falls were great. The Parker Hickman Farmstead was very interesting and we loved looking around at all the old buildings. We also hiked to Pedestal Rock. The home was as described, was clean and well supplied. Thank you for your hospitality!!!

Perfect!!

We have been coming to Ponca for several years now and have admired this little house. I was thrilled to find out that it was available to rent. It was perfect for us. It was very very clean and i loved the location. We will definitely be booking again.

Excellent property in the valley

This is a beautiful bungalow with lots of amenities. We did not use the attic bedrooms due to the open stairwell which was a little scary for our senior group. Some blinds on the laundry room windows would be nice since there’s a pullout couch/bed there. The house was very clean and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Everything we needed was right there. The grounds and views are also excellent.,

Perfect Stay

We’ve stayed near the Buffalo River for many years and have been to many homes and cabins in the area. While they’ve all been fine, this is one I’ll be returning to stay. I fell in love with the home and its history. In addition, the host was fantastic and so kind and responsive when I had questions related to the area and history.
