Hi there! Welcome! We’re Madeline & Carol, your new best friends and favorite mother-daughter team. :) In 2020, we started our small family business to restore beautiful old homes in Lake Geneva for you to fill with your family’s cherished memories.

A bit about our backgrounds and what led us to where we are today…

Carol’s a chemical engineer and Madeline’s a designer & realtor right here in town – a match made in heaven for reno and rental projects, right?! Plus, we’re also both cancer suns, so ‘home’ is our favorite verb. ;)

One of our favorite things to do together is go to open houses, see new homes, and daydream about what exactly we’d do to a home to restore it and add our own touch. It’s an activity that’s three generations in the making, with our matriarch, Beatrice Leigh Blue’s obsession with homemaking. We honor her by incorporating blue (her favorite color) into our designs and by naming our business after her favorite bird (Bluebird Properties). Simply put, she’s our muse.

We didn’t find Pemberley Cottage, she found us. And after five months of heavy restoration and renovation, she’s ready! We truly hope our guests will see how much love and attention we’ve put into every single detail, and we look forward to many more projects in the near future.

We offer four cozy bedrooms, each with its own style and character: Darcy, Bennet, Bingley, and Wickham. Yep, we named them after the Pride and Prejudice leads – what can we say, we love Jane Austen! Both the Darcy and Wickham rooms contain top-rated double-sided Layla mattresses – one side firm, one side soft – to accommodate your preference. Hotel-quality pillows, sheets, duvets, and quilts adorn each bed. The upstairs bedrooms have their own adjustable air conditioning mini split units for guest control and comfort.

In our signature blue kitchen and vintage, wallpapered nook (both mega Instagrammable!), you’ll find a stocked breakfast bar with individually packaged snacks, coffee, and tea. Cozy up in the living room and enjoy our book and DVD collection. Or if you prefer a more a modern mode of entertainment, log into your streaming accounts on our Roku Smart TV with our 5G and high-speed internet.

Our 1/4-acre fully fenced backyard features two entertaining spaces: one for lounging, conversation, and play, the other for dining and cocktail hour. You can also watch the world go by in the rocking chairs on our deep, covered front porch. A washer and dryer are available for your laundry needs.
