Girls trip

We stayed for 3 wonderful days. It is a nice quiet location with a beautiful view of the water. Edenton is a beautiful town with great food and some interesting shops. Thank you for a lovely place to stay!

River Cottage

The cottage is clean and comfortable. Great location on the River. Very quiet and peaceful. Fabulous sunsets!! Van-Dee was very responsive to our requests.

The stay next to the Chowan River was really pretty. The house was nice anx perfect for our visiting friends. I would like to add, the sliding door is really hard to open and close and could be lubricated for easier use. Thank you.

Picture Perfect! The VIEW was everything! Quiet and peaceful❤️

We needed a getaway not to far from home and this quaint bungalow was perfect!! Steps away to the water and THE VIEW was breathtaking! Van-Dee was a great hostess! The town of Edenton was fun, we walked through museum houses and Broad St. I am booking a weekend for my parents, they will love it!!!

The Sunsets!

This sweet retreat is in a little neighborhood near Edenton. We spent a couple of days there and driving time to Edenton Historic district, Elizabeth City and Merchant’s Mill Pond make this a great location. In the evenings…..very quiet. We saw ducks, bald eagles and herons from the back porch….and the sunsets were fabulous.

The house was exactly as pictured. The area was very quiet- we didn’t see or hear anyone else the whole weekend! Would highly recommend for a quiet fall weekend. Van Dee was super responsive and helpful. Our only suggestion would be more kayak paddles. We could only locate one.

Summer get away

We enjoyed our stay @ your cottage. It was well equipped and a peaceful location. Some draw blinds over the patio doors would have helped block the sun where we would watch TV but we managed to drape the leg blankets over that doorway and block the sun that way.We will keep your place in mind for another stay.

Cutie on the river!

Cute little house on the river! Nice screened in porch with a great view. Clean and comfortable. We didn’t get to take advantage of the paddle boat or kayaks since we only stayed one night but if we are ever in the area again we'd definitely stay again.

Beautiful sunsets and convenient to Edenton

Really enjoyed our two nights at the property. Given how the river is positioned at the property, you face pretty much directly west, which allowed us to enjoy gorgeous sunsets looking straight across the river. Just a 10-minute drive from downtown Edenton and all it has to offer (super pretty little town that sits on Albermarle Sound). Also a special shout out to our host Van Dee, who was super responsive in helping us troubleshoot accessing the streaming services after we had screwed things up! Would highly recommend.

Peaceful and quiet!

Can’t beat the view! Our kids loved the kayaks and paddle board. We loved drinking coffee and having happy hour on the dock. Screen porch is great. Clean house. Nice linens and towels. Our only suggestion is an outdoor trash can and a mixing bowl is needed… as well as some cards and games. The sliding door is difficult to open.

Thank you! We dont have outside trash cans bc they created a smell and bugs no matter what we did. We do however pick up trash for our guests at anytime upon request. Thank you for the mixing bowl suggestion! We will make that happen.

Watercraft paradise

My family and I had an amazing time using all the outdoor watercraft - paddle boats, paddle board, and fishing on the kayaks! The house was perfect for playing outdoors during the day and going into Edenton for dinner and dessert. Our boys wanted to take the boats home! Loved our stay 🤩

Peaceful paradise

What a lovely property! It is so peaceful and serene here. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch just taking in the view. You can drive to town in 10-15 minutes if you want to shop or dine out. I did deduct stars for the accuracy of the pictures for 2 reasons: the place is so much cuter in person! It look so much better than it does online and I would have booked a longer stay had I been sure of that. Secondly, and more importantly however, the picture shows a sandy beach behind a bulkhead. There is no sand there. The water comes right up to the bulkhead so you cannot sit in a chair or leave a kayak or anything down there. It was very difficult to drag the kayak, paddleboard, and especially the pedal boat in and out of the water, even with 2 strong healthy people, so that's important for guests to know. I understand that water levels can fluctuate, but this was our experience over 6 the days that we stayed. There is no "water access" except to climb down from the dock over the rocks and cypress roots. There is no ladder on the dock either. Otherwise this review would be 5 stars across the board. The host is very responsive and the cabin has most everything you need. I did not see a corkscrew or a shot glass so if you want cocktails come prepared! We will never forget this fabulous 20th wedding anniversary trip!!

Chilling and Exploring with my Sister

Beautiful location right on the river. Cottage has everything you need from the time you get up until you go to bed. Kayaks and paddle boats, fishing rods and a pier. The screened in porch is a wonderful bonus. Edenton is a lovely town with a lot of history and very nice people. We definitely will be returning!! Great place to stay.

Excellent property

The house was very clean. Communication with host was excellent. This was a very relaxing and restful place to stay. The dock for fishing was nice, was able to catch a few fish. It was not to far from center of town for dining out. Overall a great weekend stay.
