This house was the perfevt getaway for our family. The home was clean and had all of the ammenities we needed and more. The floating dock was perfect for our boat and made access to the gulf a breeze!

Peace on the Canal

This home is everything our family needed. We had a family BBQ, kayaked, fished, and enjoyed the neighborhood. I came home and purchased a hammock chair- talk about relaxing! What a wonderful place to stay. The beds were so cozy- an incredible bonus. We had coffee on the dock almost every morning. Communication was prompt and check-in and out was easy. Thank you for providing an awesome space for family enjoyment.

Hernando Beach

We were visiting family nearby. We loved this place so much that we would definitely like to return. The decor is nice and very clean. Lots of places nearby to eat. We were able to use the bikes provided and checkout the area. It has a lot of nice special touches that other places don't have. It's one of the nicest VRBO's that we have stayed at. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Winter getaway March 2024

Great location on the canal, quiet and peaceful. House is nicely remodeled & well stocked with everything you might need. We enjoyed eating at the places nearby including the Lazy Lizard & Silver Dolphin. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice stilt home. Outside stairs to enter. We found the home just as advertised. Has a great view of the canal and dock and close to everything Hernando has to offer. We would definitely stay there again.

The "Little" Stilt House gets a "Big" thumbs up

We have booked via VRBO in Hawaii, London, Tybee Island, and Rhode Island and have been pleased each time. We booked the house for a week after a western Caribbean cruise with the intention to visit family in the Spring Hill area. The house was ideally located on a canal with boat access and close to restaurants. Unfortunately, we could not take advantage of the kayaks or bikes due to the cooler weather. Location was convenient to many shopping venues. Our host, Steve, was very responsive to any questions we had, and we took advantage of his restaurant recommendations. The house was well appointed, and we were encouraged to help ourselves to the beverage cooler (thanks Steve!)All in all, it was a great experience, my wife did not want to leave, and we would happily rent again

Great place to do nothing!!

Stayed here for the month of February, 2023. First experience doing anything like this and found the accommodations to be wonderful. The owner was very responsive to any contacts that I made with him. Very convenient to anything you might wish to do. Thanks for sharing, Steve.

Canal side cottage

The house was exactly as described and was very comfortable for our 3 week stay. I was a bit surprised that Hernando Beach has no beach but that's on me for not doing my homework. Even so, the house was a great base for our activities including kayaking, hiking in the preserve and side trips to the beach. The owner was super easy to deal with and so responsive to our questions and concerns. There are several waterside restaurants within walking distance with movies and shopping just a short drive away.

Lack of maintenance doesn’t outweigh location!

During my wife’s 18 day stay: ‱The water was shut off for lack of payment! ‱The house Air Conditioning stopped working!! My wife had to cancel Sunday plans to be available when the repair man came the following day. The AC guy said he makes many visits a year to the house and the owner refuses all long-term fix suggestions. ‱Directv displayed the message that the service would be shut off if payment wasn't made within 5 days. Other minor things that distracted from the location: ‱No light upon arrival requiring my wife to use here cell phone light to climb the outside stairs and gain entry to the house. ‱Shower hot/cold control is reversed. This means the hotter your shower the lower the pressure due to the reversal. The local property manager said the owner knows this is an issue. ‱No house description folder – only flyers for local restaurants. It took two days to figure out the place had Directv because that remote was somewhere else in the house, not with the TV Remote. My wife was extremely patient because she didn’t want to interrupt her vacation and find another place to stay. There was also the “no refund” policy that turned out to be more important to the owner than anything else. We contacted VRBO after the stay and they said they would talk to owner and see if they could get us a day’s refund for inconvenience, the owner said no and said he didn’t understand where the problem was, he quickly responded to all the issues. Vacationer beware the risks!
