Unplug and unwind at our award-winning architectural desert retreat in Zacatitos. Surrounded by ocean and desert mountain views, Casa Leluya offers a true off-grid Baja experience with a refreshing pool, peaceful privacy, and reliable high-speed internet. Quiet and remote, yet just 20 minutes from vibrant San José del Cabo with its galleries, restaurants, and luxury resorts. Pristine Playa del Zacatitos — one of the area’s few swimmable beaches — is only a 10-minute walk away.
We’re excited to now offer our brand-new kitchen area as well as a newly added private casita (optionally), featuring an additional bedroom with a queen bed and its own full bathroom — perfect for couples, friends, or anyone wanting a little extra privacy.
Beyond that, we’ll let our guests — and their reviews — tell the story. All photos are recent and taken by us, so what you see is exactly what you’ll experience.
For additional information, feel free to reach out through our Casa Leluya website or contact our wonderful local property manager, Lisa Gorringe, directly.
What guests love most about Casa Leluya is the feeling: peaceful mornings, ocean breezes flowing through the house, stargazing by the fire pit, and the quiet magic of the East Cape. Many guests arrive planning to explore and end up simply slowing down and enjoying the architectural unique house itself.
A few words from past guests:
“A great escape from the hustle and bustle… unbelievably close to a beautiful beach.” — Marion
“Such a beautiful happy place… can’t recommend it enough.” — John
“Just as good — if not better — than the photos.” — Andrew
“Definitely found my home on the East Cape.” — Peter
Designed by renowned Canadian architect Javier Campos, Casa Leluya has been featured in Canadian Architect Magazine, Wallpaper Magazine, and New York Magazine. The home was thoughtfully created to blend into the surrounding desert landscape with clean lines, open airflow, and understated luxury.
The house is fully solar powered and intentionally designed without air conditioning. Instead, the architecture captures cooling desert breezes that naturally flow throughout the home day and night.
You’ll still enjoy all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay: high-speed Wi-Fi, strong cell service, a fully equipped brand-new kitchen, dishwasher, washer, BBQ, ice maker, pool, outdoor shower, books, games, and a gas fire pit for evenings under incredibly star-filled skies.
The main house features two queen bedrooms, with additional sleeping options available if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and gathering around the island after a day at the beach or exploring the East Cape.
Playa Zacatitos — one of the few swimmable beaches in the area — is about a 10-minute walk away, as is Zac’s Bar & Grill and convenience store Central Station. Nearby you’ll also find Flora Farms (Michelin-star), Acre(Michelin-star), Monte Cardón, and Tamarindos for memorable meals and cocktails.
Zacatitos has its own laid-back charm, including a small café shop and organic farmers markets several times a week. San José del Cabo, with its galleries, restaurants, and famous Thursday Art Walk, is only 20 minutes away.
For adventure, world-class surf beaches (Shipwrecks, Nine Palms,...) as well as Cabo Pulmo National Park lies further up the East Cape and offers world-class snorkeling and scuba diving among vibrant coral reefs and marine life in what Jacques Cousteau famously called “the aquarium of the world.”
We hope you’ll fall in love with Casa Leluya and the East Cape the same way we did.
We recommend your own vehicle to be able to explore the area. There is a parking space in front of the house.
