The Mermaid Castle is a unique and luxurious 4 bedroom / 4 bathroom oceanfront home, newly renovated and designed with perfect relaxation and comfort in mind. It boasts multiple decks and patios with amazing panoramic views of the ocean, island coastline, and the impressive Nana Dune (the largest dune in Florida). Enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets, take a stroll on the soft sandy beach, and always feel the ocean breeze on your skin. Bring friends and family for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation in an atmosphere of total comfort and relaxation. Relax and unwind while taking in the majestic views from the rooftop deck, sure to create lasting memories of your perfect getaway.

Layout | There is a living room on each of the 1st three floors

1st Floor: On the 1st floor, you`ll find a cozy living room with a TV (including cable and streaming capabilities) and a full-size pull-out sofa that can comfortably sleep up to two. Connected to the living room is a large and convenient laundry area complete with an extra refrigerator. Indulge in a good night`s sleep in the large bedroom featuring two queen beds and a full bathroom with a small shower. After a long day of exploring, curl up by the outdoor patio and take in the breathtaking seascape. From the backyard, you can take the sand path that leads directly to the beach and easily enjoy a sunny day with your toes in the sand!

2nd Floor (Open-Concept Main Living Space): Relax in the living room (pull-out sofa) and take in breathtaking views of the ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows. Enjoy a home-cooked meal in the dining room, featuring an oversized dining table with seating for 12. The chef’s dream kitchen boasts a 6-burner stove, two ovens, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, 2 coffee makers (Keurig and drip), and a separate beverage refrigerator. Catch the sunrise as you sip on your coffee at the 6-person outdoor dining table, located on the covered deck that is accessed from the living room and dining room. After dinner, retire to the queen-sized bedroom with an adjacent full bathroom complete with a spa-like shower/tub. To really make the most of the location, take a few steps out to the covered front porch which features four rocking chairs positioned to take in the views of the Nana Dune. The Nana Dune is the largest dune in Florida and is protected by the National Park Service.

3rd Floor: Experience complete relaxation on the gorgeous 3rd floor with a stunning master bedroom and breathtaking ocean views. The inviting master suite features a king-size bed, two comfortable sitting chairs, and a television with cable/streaming capabilities. Enjoy the luxury of the attached master bathroom with a beautiful walk-in shower to wash away your worries. If you have family or friends joining you, you can always retreat to the secondary living room which has a full-size pull-out sofa, two chairs, and a coffee bar with a Keurig and beverage fridge. Additionally, there is a 4-person dining table on the ocean-view covered deck just outside the master bedroom and living room. This level also offers a second bedroom with a queen-size bed and TV (cable and streaming capabilities). There is a full bathroom adjacent to the bedroom. Although the main laundry area is on the 1st floor, the 3rd floor has a stacked washer/dryer for extra convenience.

4th Floor: The 4th floor is a stunning getaway for entertaining friends and family. Inside, it boasts a game table and TV with cable/streaming capabilities to ensure nonstop entertainment. Outside, the rooftop deck showcases incredible ocean views from the highest point of the house. Complete with two lounge chairs for relaxing, the rooftop deck is the perfect spot for watching the beautiful ocean sunrise and the stars twinkling in the night sky.

Neighborhood Overview:

The Mermaid Castle is located in a residential area towards the south end of the island.

Within a mile or two, there is a Harris Teeter grocery store and several great restaurants such as Pogo’s Kitchen, Lagniappe, and Marche Burette. The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and Ritz Carlton are also close by – you can access some of their amenities such as restaurants, the “Shops at Amelia Island Plantation,” the Ritz spa, and the Omni’s marsh front golf course even though the Mermaid Castle has no affiliation with them.

North of the Mermaid Castle, you will find Main Beach which features the Salt Life and Sandbar Kitchen restaurants, a playground, and beachside putt putt golf. From there, Amelia Island`s downtown historic district is just a short drive down Atlantic Avenue. There you will find plenty of wonderful restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and local culture. Fort Clinch State Park is also located along Atlantic Avenue. The park features the 19th century Fort Clinch (still open to the public for tours), a great beach, and lots of beautiful trails for hiking or biking.

Amelia Island State Park and the Big & Little Talbot State Parks are all located to the south of the house. Boneyard Beach in Big Talbot State Park is extremely unique and worth a trip. Kelly’s Seahorse Ranch is located adjacent to Amelia Island State Park and offers guided beach horseback rides directly from the oceanfront ranch.

Getting Around:

Amelia Island is a small area and is easy to navigate! There is free parking available throughout the entire island, making driving very easy to any place you choose to visit.

Although Uber/Lyft are not very reliable on the island (we strongly recommend bringing a car), they are available through the app on your smartphone.

Bike rentals are available at `The Beach Store`. Riptide Watersports also delivers bikes and other beach gear.

Important Property Notes:

There is construction next door, but guests still love the easy beach access, ocean views, and all the comforts of the home.

Dog-friendly for up to two dogs! We have a 50-pound weight limit per dog and all dogs must be approved prior to check-in. The pet fee is $250.

Parking: The house has parking for approximately 4 cars in the driveway (depending on the size of the cars). An additional small car may fit in the garage.

The code to the key lock box will be provided prior to check-in. We live full-time on the island and are available to quickly address any concerns.
