Cottage pittoresque dans une belle ferme

The Cottage at Henry River Farm is a peaceful farm getaway nestled between the South Mountains and Henry River. Come slow down, enjoy the countryside, and experience a little of the simple farm life.

This cozy studio cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a queen bed, full bathroom, kitchen, dining area, A/C and TV. Shiplap walls from floor to ceiling give the cottage its farmhouse charm.

Outside, enjoy the spacious patio with a picnic table, patio furniture and rocking chairs—perfect for morning coffee or relaxing with a good book.

Henry River Farm is a working family farm, so you may see us milking cows, feeding animals, tending the farm and going about our normal farm chores during your stay. Take a stroll around the farm and say hello to our cows and other farm animals. Please remember that some animal areas are surrounded by electric fencing.

From mid-September through the end of October, the farm is open to the public for our fall season, with a pumpkin patch, farm activities, farm store and bakery. The public farm area is beside, but separate from, the cottage area, with signage marking the guest area. Cottage guests are welcome to enjoy the farm during public hours!

A farm-fresh breakfast basket featuring ingredients from our farm may also be available for an additional fee.

Guests have private access to the Henry River for fishing (NC fishing license required) and swimming.

We’re approximately 15 minutes from downtown Morganton and less than 15 minutes from South Mountains State Park, with Lake James, Table Rock and Linville Falls all within easy reach.

Perfect for one person or a couple. Really enjoyed the farm setting with the cows, chickens a farm Dog Maddie. Had no issues and loved the peaceful atmosphere! Stay here, you won’t regret it!

A wonderful experience. The scenery was amazing. The room is all one couple will need. The host and their family were very friendly and were willing to show you around. Being from out of state and visiting family in the area we didn't experience their breakfast but suspected it would have been good. We got up early (3) one morning and sat outside listening to the coyotes yipping in the woods, while we observed the multitude of stars in the clear night sky. We would definitely stay there again. The host also has hand made coffee cups with their farm logo and fresh honey for sale.

Don't come expecting to spread out in a spacious room with all of the space and the amenities of a hotel in town. If you are willing to enjoy a small, simple space with a great view of the farm then this is a great place to spend some time.

This place was so cozy! The farm was so cool and we loved that you could see the farm animals from the windows of the house. We got the farm fresh breakfast that we got to cook ourselves and it was fantastic! Overall such a great place for a relaxing retreat. Cannot recommend enough!

The Henry River Farm and Cottage was absolutely perfect for our anniversary getaway in the mountains. Mandy and her family were delightful as well. Even with the pumpkin patch festivities taking place, we felt we had privacy. I would love to visit again!

Amazing stay at a lovely farm

Wow, this is a beautiful little place to stay. Very peaceful, serene. The animals are everything you could hope they would be. You can tell the owners work hard to make this an amazing place. Clean, quiet, back porch is awesome. Breakfast was delicious! Look no further if you want a getaway in Morganton. We absolutely loved it!
