Summary:

Modern, luxurious and prime location. All three in one just for you. Open plan, with top of line king size mattress for a great night sleep. Inspired by a pronounced interior designer from our sunny San Diego. Including a sofa bed for extra sleeping space. The natural light in the unit is astonishing to say the least. You have the view of downtown San Diego just outside your window. We welcome you to enjoy the scenic night view right from your unit.



The Neighborhood:

We are on the corner of Fir St and Sixth Avenue in San Diego. Right across Sixth Avenue is Balboa Park, one of the top destination attractions San Diego has to offer. You will find amazing Museums surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Walking through Balboa Park you will also find a lot of local vendors and artists. You can do your morning run at the park and enjoy Sunny San Diego. Conveniently located on sixth avenue and a CVS a block away from outside of the building. You will be within walking distance from restaurants and coffee shops.

San Diego Zoo,

San Diego International Airport

Seaport Village,

Little Italy,

Gaslamp Quarter,

and San Diego Convention Center are minutes away by car or a short Uber/Lyft ride.



Getting Around:

Having a vehicle is ideal anywhere in California but not necessary when staying at this apartment. You will find many things are at a walking distance or short Uber/Lyft ride. Electric Scooters available around the building and you can ride or walk to Downtown San Diego, Little Italy and Balboa Park Museums. The San Diego airport is 2.4 miles to our apartment, that is usually a couple minutes’ drive.

Excellent location and v affordable

Stayed for work, the location on the edge of the park and city was perfect for what I needed. I had my dog with me as well and it was such a relief to not have to worry about leaving her there while we went out in San Diego.

I had fairly serious issue noise harassment issues here that resulted in me first contacting the manager, who was unable to address them, and eventually calling the San Diego Police. Only after contacting the SD PD did the noise issues desist and I was able to rest/sleep in my booked accommodation.

Only concern was the homeless people and what looked like drug use and dealing going on right across from the property where we parked, but they caused no trouble at all and everything else was top notch

This is a great, cost friendly place within walking distance of pretty much anything in downtown San Diego. Some reviews mention air traffic (yes it’s close to the airport, what is the host gonna do? Tell them to stop flying? lol) and you have some homeless walking around but it’s downtown in a large city. Would absolutely stay here again. Pay attention to the check-in instructions because the multiple doors/stairways can lead to a little bit of confusion. Also one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in for a VRBO.

Nice jumping off spot

Great place to stay if you’re looking for something a bit more cozy than a hotel and are planning to spend the day exploring SD or attending an event at the convention center. All the amenities were accurately described, check-in was easy, communication via the app was clear, and internet was fast. I found the apartment to be quiet despite air traffic in the area. I will definitely see if there is availability here the next time I come to SD for a conference!

Modern style, great bed

The level of security, keypad lock entries and gated garage parking, helped me feel safe as a woman traveling alone. All the upgrades to the building and my apartment were beautiful. Bed was super comfortable. Apartment is spacious. Management staff were very friendly and helpful, both on-line and in person on-site. Yes, the building was next to the flight path for planes landing in San Diego, but you barely noticed when the windows were closed. I would stay again!

Lackluster

Safe and clean property but neighborhood was sketchy. The outdoor space cushions were badly ripped up and were not comfortable to sit on. The bathroom toilet paper roll holder and a handle on a cabinet in the kitchen were broken. No soap for the shower and 1 towel allotted per person for our 3 night stay. When in person, staff were quick to assist and friendly.

Wasn't the worst, but wouldn't return

Far enough from downtown that the walk to and from was significant. Our room was up several flight of stairs. Cleanliness was ok. Room and building was a bit beat up. No emergency exit info, which made us question compliance to local laws for other things. Pictures were a lot nicer than room or building. Neighborhood felt unsafe. Outskirts of downtown SD. Sheets and towels were clean. If lowest cost is most important, and you dial down your expectations, then it might be ok for you.

GOOD LOCATION

It was very clean and quiet. I was surprised because I thought we would hear the planes at night but I slept great. Good soundproofing-could not hear other guests. Property managers were nice and even carried our luggage upstairs. There is no elevator and we were on top floor 48 steps but it was not too difficult. Just be aware if you cannot do stairs. Good security. Very close to Balboa park. When we got there, it took a while for a/c to come on but then it worked fine.

5 Stars!

Virtually no complaints. 3 or 4 flights of stairs but this was only a challenge when checking in/out - otherwise was not a problem. Airplanes fly very low, directly overhead but if windows are closed, they're not all that loud (and ear plugs were provided though we did not use/need). Watching tv was a challenge, despite having multiple streaming services but we were not in the room much so this wasn't a huge deal. It's basically a glorified hotel room but was in very good shape and the bed was comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again. Process was very easy and there were no surprises. Was grateful to find a nice place that didn't significantly overcharge. Highly recommend!!
