Classic Macalester Area St. Paul Duplex

A classic St. Paul duplex centrally located in Merriam Park, walking distance from Whole Foods, the Green Line Light Rail, many great restaurants and the Allianz Field, home to Minnesota United FC! The house is in a quiet residential area just one mile from Macalester College and half a mile from St. Thomas University with easy access to Interstate 94, Interstate 35W, and Snelling Avenue makes it easy to get to downtown St.Paul, downtown Minneapolis, and the airport.
The space
We love to travel and have made our vacation rental the type of place we like to stay! Clean, comfortable, and private with quick walking access to the city's restaurants, parks, and entertainment. The house built in 1927 has maintained much of its original and charming cabinetry, light fixtures, and woodwork. All of the appliances of course are more 21st century! Enjoy lounging in our comfortable living room with fast wifi and smart TV or in the back sun room with a good book. The two bedrooms are outfitted with high-quality Original Mattress Factory mattresses and a down comforters for those cold nights.

Great Clean Location

This property was clean and tidy, and the location was a great home base for our needs. Street parking was not an issue, and we felt like it was a safe neighborhood. We'll definitely book here again!

Family visit

The space was perfect for me and my mother who came to Saint Paul to help take care of an aging relative. Space was clean, inviting and comforting after a long day. Location was excellent would definitely come back.

Lovely, charming apartment in a wonderful quiet neighborhood

Best week I have stayed anywhere outside of my own home. The neighborhood was lovely with beautiful streets to walk on, with an excellent location to everything that we desired, including St. Thomas campus. I would stay here again without any hesitation. Everything we needed was included.

The space was lovely and had air conditioning! We had some trouble getting into the property but got help from the downstairs tenant. The apartment was very comfortable and welcoming.

Stylish digs

We enjoyed the tastefully appointed apartment, full of mid- century type furniture. Conveniently located by Whole Foods, places to eat and vintage furnishings stores. Close enough to our son, it was convenient for us. If you like to sneak midnight snacks, be aware that the floors are very creaky.

Fantastic apartment for couples or small family!

The duplex was in a great area, within walking distance of Snelling with a Whole Foods and Starbucks and loads of places to eat or drink. Bus routes are easy to access, and street parking is plentiful if you drive. We had no problem with noise, etc. and the neighbourhood was lovely. Check-in was as easy as it could be, Angela sent a message before we arrived with all the details we needed and covered everything. The apartment was spotless and beautifully decorated, the furniture was lovely and there was plenty of dishes in the cabinets for us to make dinner both nights we stayed. The bathroom had wonderful water pressure, and the toiletries offered were a nice touch. This apartment had everything I could have asked for! Without a doubt this was the nicest place I've stayed at on Vrbo, I would 100% consider staying again if I was in the area. Thank you Angela!

Wonderful home base for 2 week stay in the Twin Cities

We had a great stay in Angela's comfortable upper duplex rental. The two bedrooms were perfect for our needs of privacy and good rest and the rest of the home provided us with many memories together we cherish. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pans, dishes and utensils a person could need, though we mainly ate our meals out we appreciated the tea kettle and coffee pot to get us going in the mornings. There was nice quality shampoo and conditioner as well as liquid shower soap which we appreciated not having to pick up. The apartment was beautifully appointed, very clean and spacious and all the furniture and beds were very comfortable. We loved having windows on all four sides letting in natural light all around, as it is a full upstairs unit. There was always parking available on the street within a couple houses if not directly in front. I had a couple questions for Angela and she was always prompt in responding. The home is on a slight hill, so there are stairs and of course being on second floor you have more stairs whether you use the front for entry or take the back stairs off the kitchen to use the washer and dryer in the basement. We enjoyed the very nearby antique shops and restaurants which we walked to a couple of times.If I could recommend anything to improve the stay, I'd suggest a door mirror be in the second bedroom as well, and It's always nice to have one by the entry/exit door when getting jacket on or touching up hair/make-up last minute

The bed, linens/comforter, and pillows were fabulous! The apartment was very clean with great space to chat and play games. The beautiful mugs/plates, coffee and ample silverware were appreciated and made you feel like you were home. It was a perfect location on a beautiful quiet street. Fun Staycation

We loved being in St. Paul for MEA break! I spent one night alone and enjoyed the shopping and restaurants in the area. Then, when my kids joined me, we played at different playgrounds in St. Paul, took a walk along the Mighty Mississippi, and went to ice cream shops. We cooked some meals in our kitchen and got carry-out for others. The duplex was in a great centralized location for our adventures! I had one problem at check in, which the host quickly resolved. Angela is very responsive and helpful.
