Easy walk into town!

We had three kids under 7, so the carpeted second floor with all the bedrooms close to one another worked out great! The location made walking to town, the playground, the beach, etc. a breeze!

Good house for a family of 6. Short walk to town.

We have rented a few VRB's in our skiing adventures, and this house meet our expectations. Lake Placid is a cool ski/winter sports town, with fun stuff to do when the powder is elusive.

Glad to hear your enjoyed your trip and the home. My preference at Whiteface is Mid-station and below for the packed/groomed powder, that's what I like to be. When I was in college we used to ski the summit and it was more like Iceface. Glad you got to enjoy the downtown scene as well. Come back and stay with us anytime!

Fantastic little property. Very clean with some solid amenities. Best part of the house is the location. Walking distance from many restaurants, bars, and downtown Lake Placid. Still surrounded by a quiet little neighborhood so you get the best of both worlds.

Host and house were wonderful!

The host was very accommodating, receptive, and responsive. We have stayed at a lot of rental properties and Wadke was the only person to ever reach out and check-in to make sure everything was going well! Thank you!!!

Great Family spot

Our family loved this house. It was a great location and walking into town and Mirror Lake for skating and walks with our children and dog were very manageable and enjoyable. The house had a great layout and the bunk room was perfect for 4 kids to share and be comfortable. We have been going to Lake Placid for 10 years as a family and this was our favorite spot so far, we hope to return and rent again. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Placid Place

Rented this place for a family weekend to celebrate birthday of family members. It couldn't have been better. The host was awesome and very easy to communicate with. The house was perfect. A few minutes walk from main activities in town. Plenty of great restaurants and family stuff to do. absolutely one of the best vrbo experiences ever. We will highly recommended this place to all our friends for future.

Enjoyable, comfortable stay!

First off - Kyle is absolutely fantastic. Very responsive, flexible and made for an all around great experience. He was also very open to feedback and I have no doubt will continue to make improvements to ensure the best experience possible for their guests. We greatly appreciated the dog-friendly touches, the spacious layout and convenient location, making for a short walk to the main strip, but peaceful and quiet at night. I would definitely recommend this property.

Wonderful property!

We stayed here for a family Christmas reunion. The location was perfectly convenient for walking to all the LP shops but just enough off the main drag to avoid traffic/parking/noise issues. The house was exactly as expected...plenty of room for 6 adults and a dog. We loved all the humorous touches and especially loved that they really mean dog-friendly even including pet safe salt to de-ice the stairs (which thankfully we did not need) and sheets to cover the couches. Our host Kyle was super responsive and accommodating throughout our stay. I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

Close to all of our needs

The property is very close to the Olympic Arena which we needed for a hockey tournament, this was very convenient during breaks between our games. Also convenient for shopping and eating downtown. The pictures online represent exactly what we stayed in. The property was clean and met all of our expectations. We had 3 families staying together. 6 adults and some pre- teens. There was plenty of room and we weren’t on top of each other. Kyle was great with communication during the process. We would highly recommend this home.

Convenient location and exceptional owner

This house has everything a small group needs while in Lake Placid. While not a “luxury” rental, this house is well-laid out and nicely updated. Kitchen has all the basics. Nice washer/dryer. We brought our dog which was nice.. The downstairs storage area is great for gear and the boot warmer is a plus. We couldn’t use the backyard firepit due to weather but looked fun! Very good location for downtown/conference center events - easy walk for an adult and doable for our small kids too. The owner was extremely communicative - when we thought we left an item in the house after check out he was still very communicative about helping us find it. The bathrooms were very clean and updated as well. Towels were more luxury grade than some other vrbos at which we have stayed in this price range. We are experienced vrbo renters and found this place to be a very good value!

Great family house, close to Mirror Lake

We had a great stay here- we were up to ski- well my husband, son and two brothers. I stayed at the house with my brother's girlfriend and it was a very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed at the house (including puzzles, games and books) -cozy family room and well-equipped kitchen. My son enjoyed hanging out in the basement. He liked the sofa and tv. We all had enough space for us all and never felt like we were on top of each other. Great storage for skis/snowboards/boots situated right when you enter the basement from the driveway- very convenient when loading/unloading car. The house is about two blocks from Mirror Lake and it is an easy walk. Never had a problem communicating with the owners, they always got back to me right away. Overall a great house and we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful, Spacious Home With Ideal Location!

We've been vacationing in Lake Placid for the past 10 years & have always rented the same home. Being creatures of habit, we were slightly nervous to venture to a new rental...but we're SO glad we did! We enjoyed our stay immensely & will definitely be back. This home is accurate to the description listed, yet even cuter in person! The deck was great to have coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. The home is spacious & fully equipped with all of the kitchen necessities you may need. The beds, pillows & furniture were extremely clean and SO comfortable- certainly added to the R&R of our trip. Talk about location!! Youre mere steps from several eateries- whether its an early morning stroll for coffee & breakfast, or ending the day with a nightcap & dessert- you have ample choices! The Farmhouse Cafe is a simple 4 minute walk from the home and their food and service were impeccable. Youre a simple 5 minute walk from Stewarts & a Wine/Liquor store for quick needs. Hannaford is a quick 10 minute drive for all of your grocery store needs! If the weather permits, you're certainly within walking distance to Main Street im Lake Placid where you can find just about any kind of food, shopping, boutique, coffee shop, bar, and goodies you desire! We highly recommend the banana pancakes & cappuccino at the Breakfast Club! If youre wildlife and nature lovers like us, you HAVE to make the trip to the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge which is a gorgeous, scenic 20 minute drive to Wilmington. There you'll find trails leading to scenic views of the river in addition to a plethora of beautiful rehabbed wildlife- wolves, bears, fox, coyotes & so much more. It's free to the public (donations encouraged!) and is truly an absolutely amazing experience! We cannot stress enough how friendly, helpful and accessible the owner was for the duration of our stay. Kyle truly made everything from check in, to answering questions, such a breeze... exactly what we needed to add to our relaxing trip! We were even welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine! The home was beautiful and everything we were looking for & our dogs loved it as well.. we'll be back!

Ski vacation

We had a wonderful stay at this home. Terrific location close to the Olympic oval and Lake Placid shops/restaurants. Only 15 minutes to Whiteface. Bedrooms were comfortable and the basement was perfect for the kids to hang out. Owners very responsive when we contacted them during the stay. Will definitely try and stay here again!

Clean, bright, and spacious. Property owner very accommodating and responsive. Easy walk to the main street. Could use more kitchen supplies but otherwise a good property. Newly finished basement with games, great for teens. Overall a good place to stay.

Commuter Dream to Downtown Placid

We had a great experience with our stay in Lake Placid. Wadke was for helpful and communicative through the entire stay. Placid Place is in an ideal spot for people looking to explore Lake Placid. Less than a 10 minute walk downtown, your free to explore all of the lakeside town restaurants, gift shops, and other local spots. We would definitely recommend anyone visiting Lake Placid to stay at Placid Place.

Perfect Winter Getaway Home

Our family stayed at Placid Place for 2 nights the coldest weekend of the year but the house was very warm and welcoming. There were 4 adults, 2 children and a dog in our group. We loved the house. It was very spacious and clean. The house is extremely kid friendly with a big basement for them to play in. The house was stocked with plenty of paper products, soap, clean linens and kitchen basics. The host was very good about checking in with us during our stay. The location is great because you can easily walk into town. I would definitely recommend this house.

Birthday weekend in LP

Our adult family met for a Birthday weekend for Father and Son, we enjoyed hanging out at the house and seeing sites. Along with some skiing . Overall the house worked out great , only suggestion would be to add or upgrade some of the kitchen utensils, adding some basic salad or serving mixing bowls measuring cup etc . We have all stayed in many Vrbo/ABB and never experienced any with cameras on property , while we were assured none were in the home we all felt they were an invasion of our privacy not an increase in security .

Awesome House

We spent New Year’s week at 16 Colden. A perfect location — easy to walk into town for meals and shopping. Had dinners at Lisa G’s and Liquids and Solids — each of them less than a 4 minute walk from the house. Great basement room set up for movies, watching football and paying air hockey and foosball. Basement entrance ideal for coming and going from skiing. Kitchen was great. Cannot recommend more highly.

Family had an amazing time!

Kyle’s place was just what we needed! The location and the house amenities were great! We were a family of 8 with two kids and a dog and everyone in the house felt extremely comfortable. Further the house was spotless and with clean fresh linens and pillows! We stayed at the house for a month and we absolutely had an amazing time. Kyle was extremely super responsive to all our questions pre-arrival and during our stay. Absolutely highly recommend!
