Welcome to The BL Cottage - nestled in the wooded shoreline of Buffalo Lake.

Nearby Places Include:

The cottage is designed with relaxation in mind. Unwind and enjoy the quiet surroundings and comfortable accommodations. A lightning fast 300 Mbps Internet connection keeps up with multiple devices and powers remote work setups.

Each bedroom includes purposeful designs focused around beds with 400-thread count Lands End sheets and fluffy comforters.

The kitchen is equipped with all essentials for food preparation. Pots and pans, utensils, dinnerware, glassware and bakeware are provided along with some cooking basics like salt and olive oil.

Indoor cozy ambiance is set by electric candles and an electric fire place along with throw blankets available throughout the cottage.


OUTDOORS
A firepit features a SoloStove Bonfire and Adirondack chairs to help enjoy the night sky filled with stars.

There are hiking trails all around the county and we provide hiking trail maps in the house manual at the cottage.

Montello is the nearest town with shops for any essentials needed during your stay like restaurants, groceries, gas, and outdoor items.

The Lake
The lake water is clear and full of healthy fish. However, a green weed growth occurs in the summer months that limits water recreational activities. We don't advertise swimming off of our dock but there is a popular beach on the east side of the lake for swimming.

The cottage sits just off of County Road K, and some cars drive quickly down the road

Great Winter Getaway

This was our second stay at the BL Cottage, and it was every bit as good as the first. My wife, our dog, and I were looking for a cozy winter retreat, and this property delivered. While small, the space is utilized exceptionally, and is very well appointed. We will definitely consider booking here again.

Loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful views, quiet area. Very clean and spacious property. Owners very detail oriented and thoughtful which made us feel welcomed and comfy! Would definitely recommend this place as perfect stop to relax and recharge!

Peaceful

My family and I (ages 17 & 23) had a very peaceful time at the BL Cottage before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. It was a great space to cook and bond and enjoy the beautiful lake views without any external distractions.

Great Weekend Getaway!

Fantastic cabin on a quiet lake a bit removed from most of the other touristy spots in Central Wisconsin. Great patio areas for watching and listening to nature. The surrounding area contains an abundance of wildlife and hundreds of bird species. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and a perfect size for 2-3 people. Would recommend to anyone looking for a low key, relaxing weekend.

Great place to stay in Montello, WI

We were in town to visit family and attend a family reunion on July 4 and needed a place to stay. We found this place on VRBO and we are so glad we did. It’s the best place In Montello we have stayed while visiting the area. It was Clean, well stocked, and right on Buffalo lake
it was perfect for two adults! The owners were beyond considerate in anticipating any need visitors would have as the cottage was stocked like it was our own home! We hope it’s available again the next time we visit Montello

The perfect getaway

Spent 3 wonderful nights at the BL Cottage. The ambience and views were incredible. The property was bright, welcoming, cozy, and exceptionally well-appointed. The on-site supplies and amenities were plentiful; the hosts thought of everything. We wanted a quiet weekend on the water, and this place delivered in spades. We will definitely consoder booking again in the future.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

What you see is definitely waht you get in this perfect little cottage on Lake Buffalo. Cozy and serene, it was the perfect setting for a weekend away for me and my sister. Warm and welcoming hosts, comfortable beds and inviting couches and chairs, stunning view of the lake. We saw eagles fly by regularly. Enjoed the restaurants in town but also well stocked kitchen made cooking some meals at home really easy. Definitely would return here.

Buffalo Lake

Clean, modern and comfortable accommodations, just like the pictures. Nice outside deck overlooking lake. Lake was in bloom and green, not for swimming, and very few boats using it. We enjoyed our stay and would go back, hosts were very accommodating, even replaced a missing TV remote and came to make sure it worked 😊👍

Comfortable and convenient

This cottage was perfect for our needs. We were in the area to visit family but needed our own space. The bedrooms are a little small, but it didn't matter because the common area was very well laid out. The living room was comfortable, the coffee bar was perfect, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating for a slight schedule change. When we arrived, there was even a small Christmas tree lighting up a corner of the room. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Where do I start? I'll start with the beauty & peacefulness of this location. I love water & I love comfort, both of which you will find in abundance at the BL Cottage! The hosts have made sure that you'll have everything you need for a stress-free stay. I felt as if I was in my own blissful world during my stay at the Cottage. If you desire tranquility, this is the place! I promise you will not regret it.

We Will Be Back!

Our stay at The BL Cottage was absolutely delightful. The cottage was charmingly decorated and impeccably clean (which says a lot, as I'm extremely particular about cleanliness). The included board games, Keurig & K cups, kitchenware, shower essentials, and washer & dryer just made our stay that more enjoyable. We spent much of our days in the Dells, and the cottage was so nice to come back to unwind - You really feel like you’re in northern WI. The only downside was the smell of the lake algae at certain points of the day, but that is out of anyone’s control. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful lakefront house

Looked like a brand new home. Extremely neat and clean. Well furnished with all the amenities of home. Great deck and outside patio area as well. Outdoor grill and firepit that overlooks the lake great for evening relaxation. We didn't cook, but visited the recommended restaurants. We felt very secluded from surrounding properties, and although close to the road, it was very quiet. We would certainly recommend this rental, and it would be our first choice for another visit. The host was very responsive to all of our inquiries .

The house was really nicely appointed and cozy. We had everything we needed and more, they really thought of everything and we appreciate that. It was very well decorated and a beautiful location on the lake. We enjoyed staying there a lot. The main issue was it was right off of the road and we had brought our dog so we didn’t have anywhere to let her explore as we worried about cars. It is about a 40 minute drive to Wisconsin Dells and in a very quiet area. I’m sure lovely to sit by the fire pit and fish the lake in the summer but we went in the winter during an odd fog so we couldn’t enjoy those amenities. But we would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to be right in the crowds but still have access to a lot Wisconsin has to offer. Thank you for letting us stay there with our pup!

Staying in a resort area in March

Lovely property, but we chose to go Mon-Thurs, forgetting that in resort areas, especially out of season, most businesses are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We never did find a place to have one good sit-down dinner. even exploring the small towns in a 1-hour radius. Grocery store, local bar, and an Arby's were fill-in's. Fantastic bookstore in Montello! Quiet, comfortable beds and seating for older bodies, front row seat for half an hour of an eagle who scoped out his food, went and got it out of the lake, brought it back up to the tree he had selected, and ate it while we watched. Got a video with my phone.

Perfect peaceful getaway

What a perfect little place! We had looked at quite a few places before deciding on this one, and we chose perfectly. It had everything we needed, and the owners go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. We always travel with our own pillows and we quickly realized we didn’t need to. They offer a variety of pillows on both beds, and there’s something for everyone. Also, we’re always nervous about sleeping on other mattresses - we all raved about how comfortable theirs were! This place had everything you could possibly need all tucked neatly into a beautiful little house with spectacular views. My only complaint is that it was windy and cold the couple days that we visited, so we didn’t sit out on the deck or have a campfire at night. The owners were also very communicative if we had questions. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Perfect little lake cabin

Our family of four was looking for a quiet place to get away for the weekend, and this cabin was perfect. Clean, well stocked, and overall lovely, with extra touches like chargers and a bluetooth speaker. We had a lovely time at the home and playing down by the water, as well as exploring the local hiking trails and Amish shops. We did have a hard time finding an open restaurant for dinner and last minute ended up just getting groceries to throw something together instead, which was the only downfall. Otherwise a lovely trip, and we have only wonderful things to say about the property. Thanks so much!

Lovely property

The property was exactly like the pictures. Nicely decorated, very comfortable, nice amenities, the view was amazing. The owners did a great job making the property welcoming. We arrived to lit battery activated candles! It was a welcoming touch. They also included maps of hiking which we apreciated.

Adorable cottage

Wonderful stay at this newly renovated cottage! Top notch amenities and stylish decor. We loved the area: hiking, birding, Dells, Madison, and Horicon Marsh. The only downside was Buffalo Lake is very weedy and water level was too low to launch our kayaks from the newer dock. The owners were up front and let us know about it so we switched our kayaking to a different lake. Not a big deal. We would definitely rent this place or any others they own.

Quiet place in a cute town

We had a wonderful stay the BL Cottage! Great communication from our hosts and we enjoyed our deer family guests that joined us every morning and evening. Highly recommend pizza at Rendezvous Paddle & Sports if you're looking for a local spot with great service.

Beautifully modern and updated cozy cabin

Beautifully modern and updated cozy cabin to getaway and unplug. Lots of local hiking, fishing, kayaking etc. Hosts had everything we needed and communication was excellent! We will be back!
