Beautiful Family Home blocks from Main Street

This home is a beautiful home with some great charm. With the 6 beds, this house will surely be able to fit your family needs. Almost every bedroom is connected to its own bathroom which is very convenient. It has a beautiful chefs kitchen with all of your cooking needs. There is a nice dining room for all of your meals unless you are sitting on our Adirondack stools at the kitchen island or bar. Inside we even have a cozy movie room with real movie theater chairs to sit back and enjoy a movie. Or you could head outside to a very large side yard with a nice porch or even sit by the firepit.
We are 2 blocks from our Main Street which holds all of our locally owned stores. We have plenty of great hikes small or high peaks in our area, this would be a great home to come back to relax in! If you are here enjoying the great trails of Whiteface, we are roughly about 15 minutes from the mountain!

Fun house

We had a few families staying together for the High Peaks soccer tournament. It was roomy, comfy, and clean. Our weather was bad so we didn't get to enjoy much of the outdoor areas.

Great location and house!

The perfect place for old college friends to reconnect and visit Lake Placid. The kitchen and outside fire pit were our favorite places to relax and enjoy each other’s company. This property has all the amenities you would expect. I would definitely stay here again!

Weekend Wedding Group

Home base for team families

Perfect space for our group of high school athletes and supporting family members to attend a local nordic competition. Close enough to town to walk, easy drive to Mt Van Hoevenberg, wonderful kitchen to prepare meals, and plenty of room for kids and adults to gather for games and meals or spread out and have some private space. Host was very easy to reach and answered questions in a timely manner. Thanks for hosting us for another great weekend adventure!

Great place, great location, and great memories!!

Our family really enjoyed our stay. Great location. We had a small problem with ants. Some areas around the back and side of the house could use a fresh paint job. We loved the movie theatre and the kitchen area. Sleeping accommodations were very comfortable. The caretaker, Don, and our host, Megan, were both great and always there for any of our questions/concerns. Would definitely recommend!!

Team base for ski weekend

This was the perfect house for our team of nordic skiers and parents to stay while competing at Mt Van Hoevenberg for the weekend. Beautiful kitchen, plenty of comfy bedrooms and bathrooms, and great spaces for privacy or gathering. The kids liked the movie room too! Convenient to town and the mountain, and the owner was very helpful and responsive. Thanks for making our weekend even more memorable!

Lovely House

This is a lovely large house and very convenient to downtown! What a beautiful kitchen!! We enjoyed our stay although the guys wanted to watch football. While there is a super large screen tv in the "movie" room, there was no cable, just streaming for movies. Their only option was the smaller kitchen tv. But the living room was great for us girls to chat! There were 4 couples so the bedroom situation worked out well. However, we originally planned on 5 couples but the one couple could not make it. This was actually good as while there are 6 bedrooms, two bedrooms adjoin two other bedrooms. This is great if you have children, but couples do not want to have to walk through another couple's bedroom to get to theirs, or to use the bathroom! Again, great for families or 4 couples but this is good information to know for couples. Thank you for the use of your great house!

nice house for a big group in a fantastic location

We had 7 people in 6 bedrooms. The location is terrific -- about a 10-minute walk to the shops on Main Street, and also about a 10-minute walk to the supermarket (or you can of course drive). The common areas downstairs are really nice, with a big kitchen well suited for group cooking. Just off the kitchen is a big outdoor patio with furniture and a Weber gas grill. I wish the listing had mentioned that there was no soap or shampoo, so we would have purchased it on the way in. Also, 2 of the bedrooms can be accessed only by walking through other bedrooms, so that's a bit inconvenient and could be an issue depending on your group configuration. And the secondary master suite with a queen bed and a private bathroom has no door between the bedroom and bathroom, which can be a bit weird. We could not find any BBQ utensils, and the gas grill hadn't been cleaned in ages, so we bought a grill brush from the Hannaford supermarket and cleaned it ourselves. Lastly, it would be more convenient if the checkout rules had allowed us to start the dishwasher just before leaving, but instead the host wanted us to clean all dishes and put them away, so we had to handwash them in the morning. Oops, I should also mention -- I don't think VRBO sent me the lockbox combination, so I had to message the host that morning to get it.

Lake Placid Stay

Check in was poor. We didn’t get the code until after 4pm on a Saturday. We never did find the welcome packet. The house was very clean with the exception of the refrigerator which needed to be bleached and cleaned before we could put any food in it. We looked in the utility closet for supplies and found we were sharing the house with mice. We contacted the property manager and he said he has a service for that and would take care of it after we left. We did not have tv service or a remote until Tuesday and we checked in on Saturday. One of the bathrooms did not work, the shower in the claw foot tub didn’t work. The backyard was fenced and very nice, it was a great area for the kids. The kitchen was great and very nice to use for our meals. The beds were very comfortable and the movie theater was great! We had 4 elderly people in our group ,60 plus, and all 4 of us fell either up or down the stairs. There was no railing going up the stairs to the first landing to the second floor so nothing to hold onto. It was easy to miss the first step which we did. The hosts provided games which we used and enjoyed.

Location location location

Wow! What a great stay. The house is a short walk into town which made it very easy for our group to get around. We had 10 people comfortably stay and could’ve easily had more. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need. Will definitely book this house again for our next group trip to placid!

Nice Home

This home was perfect for our 3 generation family (9 of us - 8 adults and one 14 year old). Close to town (just realize it’s up a big hill), plenty of space inside, stocked kitchen, nice sitting area outside, and comfortable beds. The host, Megan. was very responsive prior to our arrival as well as with a few questions during our stay. Of course, it was 90+ degrees while we where there and there is no air conditioning but plenty of fans. We all enjoyed our stay at this nice home and our first visit to Lake Placid!

Nice spacious house

We stayed here for over a week around the Ironman. Great location to town, the race, stores, etc. The house has a big spacious kitchen and yard which was great for our family. Lots of Foos ball games and movies in the "theater"! Owners and caretaker were helpful and responsive.
