Calm Tide is the perfect family oasis. This beautiful home features 2 bedrooms (3 beds) with additional IKEA rollout bed in private area near kitchen and private studio in back yard with IKEA rollout bed. It has 1.5 bathrooms plus spacious outdoor shower. Stainless steel appliances throughout the kitchen, a large master suite with flat screen TV. Second bedroom features full over queen bunk bed with flat screen TV and reading area. There is an extra bedroom space located off the kitchen, with couch / pull out full bed, TV and a curtain providing privacy. Studio located in back yard has a pull out IKEA bed, vintage coffee table, TV, refrigerator, & Mini split Heat/AC. Bring your hammock and relax in the spacious fenced in backyard while cooking out on the grill, or relax around the fire pit on chilly fall nights. With Calm Tide located in the quiet & spacious section of Ann Street, you can enjoy a stroll or use the (4) provided bikes to ride to the local shops and restaurants in historic downtown Beaufort. Calm Tide is centrally located- one block from Taylor Creek, 3/4 mile from Beaufort town center or Boat House Marina in the opposite direction where there is a public boat and kayak launch.
This home is also only 10 minutes from Morehead City Waterfront and Atlantic Beach! Please note that inside fireplace is for decoration only, and not operable, enjoy the outside patio fire pit instead. Ample parking in driveway and room for boat trailer. Large fenced in backyard, no pets on premises please and No Smoking. Security Camera outside facing driveway and on front porch, not in use during stay.

Perfect Vacation!!

This was definitely our favorite VRBO home we've stayed in - found to be even better than described. Wonderful communication with our hosts on suggestions of where to dine, places to visit, etc. We wanted a relaxing vacation, and this place did not disappoint! Close to beaches, restaurants, nature and historical interests. We would 100% book Calm Tide again for another stay!

Summer Vacation

Calm Tide was perfect for our summer trip to Beaufort! It's in walking distance from downtown. The kids loved riding bikes in the evening. The outside spaces and outdoor shower were amazing. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. We look forward to another visit at Calm tide.

Calm Tide was a dream stay

We had a great time in Beaufort and staying at Calm Tide played a large part of our great getaway! From a turntable with some nice records to the many areas to lounge - front porch, to the back area with a grill, outside dining and seating areas. Not to mention the outdoor shower! The owner is very accommodating. You won't be sorry if you rent the Calm Tide!!!

Wonderful Christmas Holiday

We loved staying at Calm Tides over the Christmas holiday. Beaufort is very colorful and welcoming at Christmas and New Years. Calm Tides was perfect for us. Nice house layout with great kitchen stocked with all cooking items anyone could need. Lovely back yard with fire pit. We had a great visit and hope to return soon.

Just Perfect!

Delightful stay

The cottage was super cute and a great size for a family of 4. We loved taking a 15 min walk to downtown each night for ice cream and enjoyed its proximity to the beaches, the boat ramp and ferries. The owners were easy to get in touch with and just delightful. Highly recommend.

Beaufort at it’s best

Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer! Prompt and thorough communication from host, ideal location in Beaufort, property and amenities were even better than described. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. Can’t wait till we can come visit again!

Perfect getaway

We had the best time at Calm Tide. The owners/property managers are so kind and very responsive. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. Some of our favorite things about the house were the porch swing, outdoor shower, record player, and close proximity to town. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfection

Perfection is the best way to describe Calm tide! So much attention to detail in this home! Jack and Lindi were the best! They were so easy to communicate with and answered every question, and also gave us dining recommendations. The outdoor shower is a sanctuary

Calm Tides is a gem of a spot in Beaufort

The house was very clean. We really liked the layout
and the small touches made our stay that much better. For instance, whole bean coffee with grinder ready for us/guests. Record player with some great vinyl selections. Fire place outside. Nice fenced backyard. Decor was spot on and charming. Beds pretty comfortable. Location was a bit out but a golf cart was available. And Jack and Lindi are great hosts. Quick to respond. Personable and cared about our stay. Highly recommend. One of the best VRBO stays we’ve had in Beaufort
or anywhere for that matter. Thanks Jack and Lindi! (and no I’m not related to them in any manner - lol - just my honest review and I rarely take the time to do it but felt it was warranted).

A very Beaufort holiday

Calm Tide was the perfect Thanksgiving getaway for our blended family. The property is perfectly nestled near downtown just off Front Street. We enjoyed cooking oysters and sitting by the fire pit at night and boating and shopping during the day. There was plenty of room for game night but also plenty of spaces to relax and enjoy a moment to yourself. Jack and Lindi exceptional hosts, super attentive before, during, and after our stay. We are already planning our next trip to Calm Tide.

Perfect Beaufort girls weekend

Four of us stayed three night at Jack and Lindi’s beautiful home in Beaufort. Located on a quiet residential street and within walking distance to waterfront, shopping and restaurants. Having use of the golf cart was awesome. They have thought of everything you could need in the home and literally we just brought clothes and food/drinks. Plenty of space of space. Backyard is well done also with fire pit and everything provided to use if you desire on cool nights. Jack and Lindi communicated prior to our stay and quick to answer any questions. I had a minor issue which was my fault and they were such gracious hosts. I hope to stay at their home again and highly recommend for anyone looking for a stay in Beaufort

We are NC natives and high school sweethearts. With previous experience with renovating older homes and being the contractor on our primary residence we enjoyed working on Calm Tide. After purchasing the cottage in the fall of 2020, we began the updates during the "work from home" season of late 2020-early 2021. The property was first listed on VRBO in April of 2021 with a property manager and we transitioned to managing ourselves in October 2021. We are fortunate to have found such a lovely home and are excited to share it with you during your visit to Beaufort. We want you to make yourself at home and hope you feel relaxed at Calm Tide like we do every time we walk through the front door. Actually the calming effect begins when we cross the bridge into Beaufort. We hope you have a wonderful stay!

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

After taking the first step into the front room of Calm Tide we knew this was the place we wanted. The vintage charm of this 1940s cottage house reminded us of the homes we grew up in and the location was absolutely perfect. This is the open and quiet section of Ann St. that provides for driveways and spacious yards. Built in 1940 Calm Tide has "strong bones" and hardwoods throughout. We think it was added onto three times during the past and the evidence of the brick fireplace and wood cook-stove is seen in dining room. While you can build a new structure to imitate the vintage look, a true mid century vintage home that is renovated to include modern amenities is most appealing to us.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Inside:
Calm Tide is modern inside with a Vintage feel and is exceptionally clean. We replaced all the air ducts during the renovation and use the highest grade HVAC filters so the inside air is fresh and clean. Exposed beams in the front room with a brick fireplace and wood mantle combined with vintage furniture gives a unique feel. The bar in the dining room is made from re-claimed bowling alley wood from Western Lanes in Raleigh NC.
Outside:
The yard is very large by Beaufort standards and has a driveway for ample parking.
The back deck has a table with chairs and umbrella, it is lighted and a wonderful place to have dinner.
Off the back deck is a spacious outdoor shower that has a clear roof for star gazing at night or to let the sun in during the day. The patio has a Breeo fire pit that burns efficiently and has limited smoke once the fire is going well. One the front of the house at the peak you will see the vintage boat anchor and in the back you may want to search for the old boat propeller.
