For most guests, the kitchen seems to have the essentials and then some: - Costco’s premium set of pots & pans bought a month prior to the guests arrival. - Back up pots & pans. - Coffee grinder & maker. - VitaMix 5200 blender. - Cuisinart 12 cup food processor with accessories. - Cuisinart 4 slice toaster. - Henckels 10 knife set in a wood block. - Measuring cups & spoons. - 5 drawers of dining flatware, miscellaneous kitchen tools, including glass food storage containers, cooking pans. - Guests often inquire about AC. In practice, we find guests coming to the north shore of Kauai typically prefer the fresh air from the trade winds cooling off the space and turn off the AC option after settling in. - Beach chairs and beach towels are provided for the number of guests stated at booking and potential guests said to visit. Unfortunately, we’ve observed if extras are provided they are often un-accounted for later. Post-covid, snorkel gear is no longer provided due to hygiene. Beach umbrellas rarely last longer than a month, unless users are attentive to sporadic beach gust. While the large beach cooler provided is durable and lasts a yr or longer, likewise, various beach toys for toddlers. - The upholstery typically gets steam cleaned between guests staying longer than 2 months. In this instance, there was a 2 day turn around between guests. Steam cleaning service could only come the 2nd day & attempted to finesse proper cleaning prior to guests arrival while it was by chance a rainy day and cleaning took longer to dry. Try as we may, families with children of all ages enjoy the premises. Drinks, etc., get spilled & do not always immediately clean away. - There are benefits and inconveniences to a nearby golf course. It’s beautiful to look out on. The owner appears to be in no rush to rebuild the greens. Sporadically, equipment has been heard a couple times a year. Current guests have not heard any noise from the golf course since arriving over a month ago. I’m baffled why the shortcomings mentioned in the review were not communicated earlier. Arrival info is texted to guests to establish direct communication prior to arrival for prompt TLC from the on island support team. The guest texted “toaster stopped toasting”, a Cuisinart 4 slicer replacement was brought back from town, (typically a 3 hr round trip pickup) and delivered within 2-3 days. Likewise, hair dryers were discovered missing by the last guest and replacements were delivered in 2-3 days. We do our best to provide user friendly stays.

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed a memorable stay at the property with your family of 4 young children. Considerable time and energy was given refurnishing the newly bought home. It was disappointing to see multiple 2 wheeled scooters for the children at the home. Door trim had to be repainted due to repeated dings discovered in the wood trim and a major dent was discovered in the hardwood floor requiring touch up stain to blend it in. The Princeville community was also surprised to see the golf course start to get re-landscaped. The developer is under no obligation to give public notice of the improvements being made. Fortunately, the entire golf course was fenced off for privacy & safety. We are sorry to hear the equipment occasionally operating some 2-300’ away tainted the view of the mountains in the background. Upon seeing the possibility of noise in the distance, an extra AC unit was installed without the typical additional charge to ensure the home could be cooled with windows closed to ensure minimal if any audible noise could be heard. And when the AC burned out from running continuously due to the excessively low 62 deg temperature setting discovered, management made the 3 hr round trip to Home Depot at 6am to get parts the very next morning. Consequently, AC was running again before noon. Management didn’t wait a couple days for the few available repair people to possibly show up. There were some 35 communications via VRBO to finalize booking after repeated change of dates before arrival. Then after arrival, another some 53 text messages were responded to with 46 texts for a total of some 99 texts counted between guest and management during the month stay. This is 8-10 times more than the normal stay. There are only so many hours in a day, especially when there’s almost no available immediate help. Three years ago there was a list of willing competent help to call. 
Yes, there are multiple applicable vacation rental taxes that can be perplexing to visitors. When necessary, the time is taken to clearly detail charges & applicable tax. The owners and management are not offended you will stay elsewhere in the future. We relentlessly do our utmost best to accommodate the diverse needs of guests and attempt to ensure everyone is comfortable and feels welcomed at their chosen stay in paradise.
