Lakefront Cottage on Soft Sand

Located in the middle of Sand Bay, 5 miles from down town, 3 miles from the golf course and steps from150 feet of sandy private beach. There is enough room for two families or more in this 1400 square foot cabin with 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The large cabin easily sleeps nine, with the addition of two cots for extra sleeping. You can enjoy preparing for your days adventure as you fashion meals in our newly renovated eat in kitchen with dishwasher and garbage disposal. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, toaster, Instant Pot and blender. The evening can be spent enjoying time in the screened in porch, on the outdoor deck or in the living room where you can enjoy a fireplace, Bluetooth TV, DVD/VCR, WIFI and lots of books and board games. For those that like to cook outdoors, we have a charcoal grill. A new washer and dryer is available to keep your clothes clean. We ask that guest bring their own bedsheets, pillow cases and towels. Comforters, blankets and pillows are provided. Linen Service is available for additional charge.

Great location and a nice house

Everything was better than expected. There's plenty of room, the view is awesome and we had a good time. The only negative is that there's no closets in the bedrooms. It's still a great place and not a deal breaker, I'd stay here again for sure.

Nice destination property

Great location! Never felt like we wanted to leave the beach and the view. Sunrises and starry skies. If you actually need a place for eleven people, the one small bath could be a minor inconvenience.

Great Stay!

We came to this cabin in October for a week long stay to explore Beaver Island and check out some land we purchased the year prior, as our first time on the island the home we rented did not disappoint, it was clean and cozy feeling from the start of our trip to the end, the firepit on the beach was a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy the night, the star gazing off the deck between midnight and 2AM is absolutely unlike anything we've ever experienced, we cannot wait to book our next trip here. 5 Stars from our group!!

Great, quiet location with beautiful views

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this quaint property on Sand Bay. Soft walkable sand beach with beautiful sunrises was just steps from the back door! Owner was quickly responsive to inquiries. House was furnished with all of the amenities needed to have a comfortable, quiet stay. Kayak and canoe available for use! There is no AC at this property, but it was not needed with the windows open to catch the lake breezes. Unbelievably peaceful and beautiful! We can’t wait to come back!

Sand Bay beach cottage

We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Cottage had everything we needed. It was lovely to spend time and some meals on the deck overlooking the water. Sandy beach was great for relaxing and walking the whole bay. Bottom line - we’d gladly stay here again. Ray & Diana

Another amazing week!

Such a great week at Bunka! Four bedrooms - comfy beds - great open kitchen area. The deck and beach area are amazing - large deck with nice table and relaxing chairs, a big Sandy beach. The water was pretty warm too! Loved using the paddle boards. Overall a great stay.

Great to be back.

We returned this year after having a wonderful time last year. The place is great, location is great and we wouldn’t change a thing. John is a very considerate host and should be very proud of his property. We’re just glad he’s willing to share it.

Precious Memories on the Lake Michigans “Emerald Isle!

This place was exactly what we needed! A place to unplug and unwind from the daily demands of being a business owner. Simple and perfect. The back yard was absolutely gorgeous to say the least! We couldn’t have had a better beach view. The home was very nice and clean. We had everything we needed to make our week stay absolutely perfect! Just minutes away from the beautiful town of St. James where the people are very friendly. We felt like part of the community. We definitely left a part of our heart on Beaver Island! This home sits on a beautiful piece of property. I stayed with my daughter, her husband and their 2 children. We had plenty of room and a lot of fun. The host was great and responded very quickly to any questions.

Perfect five days

Our family loved our stay. Our boys asked if we could stay forever and us adults were sad as well to have to pack up and go. We look forward to making it a yearly visit to Beaver Island.

Blast from the Past

Visiting Beaver Island is like stepping back into a kinder, gentler time! We loved everything about our stay. It was peaceful and we spent days biking (we brought our own, but there are rentals in town) around the island roads and trails. This house couldn’t have been more perfect for what we wanted: relaxed, comfortable with awesome sunrise view and beach. John the host is extremely responsive, friendly and accommodating. It may have been a once-in-a-lifetime chance, but I finally knocked seeing the Northern Lights off my bucket list
 right from the back porch!

Beautiful location on Sand Bay. Everything you need is right there to enjoy both the indoors and out. Very clean and great communication with the owner. Will definitely stay here again!
