Experience the King Estate at The Grand Escape. Full of unrivaled character, this uniquely designed property meets the needs and intrests of corporate business travelers and families alike. The ample space makes for a great location for gatherings. Amenities include WIFI, SmartTV's, Jacuzzi Tub, Patios for outdoor entertaining and more. Conveniently located near McConnell AFB, Spirit and Beechcraft, and a short drive to shopping and dining.
The space
This listing is 1 option of a 3 booking options for this home which can be booked separately or as a whole. Depending on what you book there may be other guests on the property at the same time but they will not have access to your space. Additionally there is a guest house ("Hidden Gem") in the back corner property but it shares no amenities with the main house or apartment. We want you to enjoy stay with us so feel free to contact us with questions or for details.
Guest access
Parking is available in the circle drive or on the right side of the driveway. The left side is reserved for the Garage Apartment guests.
Other things to note
The King Suite is referred to as the Main House and largest portion of the King Estate (which is available on Airbnb "King Estate with Mid-Century Loft"). The King Estate includes the Main House and a self-contained Garage Apartment (available on Airbnb "Comfortable Apartment & Kitchen") that can be accessed through an adjoining interior door or through a private exterior entrance. Depending on what you book (King Estate, King Suite, or the apartment) you will enjoy that entire space. NOTE: If the King Suite is booked, there may be other guests in the apartment but they will not have any access to the Main House or its amenities.

The property looks as it is depicted on the site inside and out. It was clean, spacious and attractive. There was enough space to accomodate our group of 16 comfortably for the 4 night stay, as well as the ability to seat additional Holiday stoppers by. Everyone enjoyed the stay, agreeing that they would do it again in a heartbeat ! Much Thanks to hosts Marjorie and Jerry for touching base throughout, even making their personal phone numbers available.

Large Roomy House

We were in town visiting family. It was a great place to stay and gave us all a little get away from the bigger group activities in town. Loved the Asian market next door.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the house. Check in process was easy. The owners were very responsive and quickly answered any of my questions. We had plenty of room for everyone! There were a couple of closet doors and door to A/C or Hot water heater that was off. I contacted the owners to let them know, that's how it was when we arrived. It is a seasoned how, that has been beautifully decorated and updated. I'd stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay as there was plenty of room for 7 adult women to hang out, sleep and eat breakfast each morning.We struggled with the heating a bit but after we contacted the owner, she came over and helped remedy the situation. The owner is very responsive with any concerns or questions. The house is older and has some quirks but if you are looking for a clean, large space for a home base during a trip to Wichita, I would recommend this home.

Amazing

We meet up with a group a friends and their kids just to relax and hang out (6 adults and 8 kids). We had the best time and the place was perfect! We would definitely book again!

Very lovely and spacious!

There were seven of us staying here and everyone was very comfortable. All of the rooms were spacious and we really enjoyed ourselves. Marjorie was awesome to work with! We will definitely rebook if the opportunity comes again.

Massive house at great price

This house has a great layout with plenty of room for everyone. There was plenty of space and lots of nice rooms for folks to gather. Towels were a little sparse and we ran out of garbage bags but there was a nice community pantry and a fully loaded kitchen.

Lots of space

We very much enjoyed staying at this home. We appreciated the plentiful space and the personal touches from the hosts. They were great to work with. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, spices and coffee. They have made it very easy to move in and have a functional space to call home. Would happily stay here again.

Great place for a larger family gathering

We were in town for our son's wedding and had family from several different states coming in. This house was perfect for our needs with 9 adults and 1 child. It is split level so it was a little challenging for our older family members who don't do well with stairs. Lots of space to spread out.

The property is older but well taken care of and has nice furnishings. The host is extremely thoughtful, had snack and jello pudding packs for kids, q tips and cotton balls in the bath, cereal dispenser, coffee brew pods etc. Host gave phone numbers and responded to any questions.

Lots of Space

The home has lots of space for a large group of people. Plenty of bedrooms that are separate from each other so people can spread out. The courtyard and deck are nice gathering areas as well as the living room. I do wish there were more chairs in the dining room and ice in the freezer.

Fantastic House For Our Team

I found this home to house our team for a local ice hockey tournament. It was perfect for all of us. We were all able to have a bed and the layout worked great for us. The house was very unique and the owners were a pleasure to work with. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We plan to use it again next year!

Daughter’s wedding

We were in town for our daughter’s wedding and all of her family and bridesmaids were from another state so we needed a large place for all of us. This house was perfect! With the many different gathering spaces in the house it never felt crowded. The hosts were very responsive and easy to work with. Would recommend this house for your large group!

We have always wanted to have a vacation rental so when Jerry retired in 2020 we began looking and eventually found the one.
