The cottage was great. The hosts were very accommodating and provided everything we needed for a great stay. The cottage was cozy but plenty of room for the 2 of us and everything was updated in the kitchen, bathroom, living room and bed rooms.

Wonderful Cottage

A great cottage in a picturesque area along Lake Michigan, this place was a quiet place to relax with my family. Quick access to multiple beaches and wonderful restaurants. My kids liked Ruth Ann's Ice cream which is just down the street!

Kellye and her place were both just amazing. The cabin is so clean and nice, the decor sets the right vibe! Kellye was very kind to us and took excellent care of our group throughout the stay! The sunsets were beautiful! I would most definitely recommend you book this place if it’s available! This one is a gem!

Cabin was clean, cozy, and stocked with supplies, including wood kindling needed for a bonfire. Beautiful lookout for sunsets right on the water and close to multiple beaches, the state park, and Muskegon. Kellye easy to get in touch with and overall a great host. Would stay here again!

Beautiful Cottage & lovely hosts

The cottage was cute, clean, and well maintained. It has everything you could need and more! The boys were thrilled with the S’mores supplies and snacks! The beach umbrella was a game changer! Kellye was very responsive and gave us some fabulous recommendations! We would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends looking for a Lake Michigan getaway!

Shipwatch was everything we wanted in a family rental. It was just big enough for our family of five. Things were thought out and the extra treats, gas grill and campfire supplies were great. We would love to visit again!

This is a beautiful property with stunning lake views! Kellye was wonderful to work with and attentive to our needs especially when we wanted to stay an extra day! It's close to Duck Lake Beach and had everything we needed. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets! A perfect place to stay!!

A great little get-a-way

Beautiful property (fully stocked), attentive hosts, plenty to do and see, beaches were always perfect and plenty to choose from! We did encounter some technical difficulties, completely out of their control. The hosts, and VRBO, were very accommodating to get us through and everything ended up just fine. Overall, a beautiful time away to see more of what Michigan offers.

Everything was perfect and then some. The host went out of her way to make sure everything was as we needed. She even called during a storm and offered to bring down their generator if the power went out. We will be back!

Kellye was a fabulous host! She communicated with us and left the lights on when she knew we’d be later than expected due to Canada traffic. The communication throughout was fabulous. The house was adorable, well equipped and clean. The extra details were so appreciated. We loved the s’mores/snack kit and found the info book about the area to be full of wonderful suggestions. We took advantage of as many as we could in our short stay. We wish we could’ve stayed longer! Thank you for being such an outstanding host! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this wonderful cottage and it’s fabulous owner.

Cottage was very nice and well kept. Ample parking close and convenient for loading and unloading. Great amenities and we enjoyed our stay. However, it is NOT a three bedroom cottage. A pull out sofa in the living room with people crossing back and forth to the bathroom or kitchen does not a third bedroom make. May be ok if you have kids or teens but we were three adults expecting privacy for each of us. And for some reason I misunderstood that there is no direct beach access from this location nor within walking distance. There were a couple of beaches that were just a short drive though and Duck Lake was nice. Best beach by far though was by The Deck restaurant in Muskegon. Overall we had a good time thank you Kellye and Bill .

Hi Mary, our Website clearly states our cottage is a 2 bedroom and a pull out Queen sofa (max. 6 people with 4 beds). Website also states in caps “NO BEACH ACCESS”, but has amazing beaches and a public beach 3/4 a mile down the road (you can walk to).We are 5 Star ⭐️ Super Hosts for 7 years and proud to offer a beautiful, super clean, affordable cottage that is privately nestled in the woods. Cottage’s with beach access start at $500 a night, just a FYI.😊 Mary, if you have suggestions on how we can clarify this better on our website, we would be grateful for your feedback. 😊

Nice cottage with lovely owners

We enjoyed our stay at this nice cottage. Unfortunately we did not realize that the cottage was on the same property as the owners. While they made us feel welcome, it did feel awkward to sit on their yard and back patio to enjoy the lakeviews. They were gone 2 out of 3 evenings, but it still felt awkward for my kids and I. As long as you expect it, it will be fine. Just was not what we were expecting.

Great stay!!!

Enjoyed our stay here immensely. The home was clean, comfortable, nice quiet location (although we had to deal with some construction noise that is NOT a normal occurrence so no reflection on the owners) Nice well stocked kitchen, but we were only here for short stay and didn't cook a meal there. We did cook on the grill and that worked fine. Kellye is a great host, always available, and encouraged us to come out and enjoy the sunsets which were beautiful. We originally booked this home for a family reunion for 5 aging siblings. Unfortunately 3 sisters could not make it so was just my brother and I. The place might have been a little crowded had all 5 of us been there but was perfect for the 2 of us and would be fine for more. I love the area and would love to return here.

Shipwatch Cottage

Husband and I stayed at the Shipwatch Cottage 7/8/24 to 7/12/24. The property was immaculate inside and out and was equipped with really anything you might need or could want. Also, the WIFI was fast and solid. Perfect for a rain day. The property is surrounded by woodlands and as advertised, has a stupendous Lake Michigan view. It is easy to get to and from with good roads all around yet very, very peaceful and quiet. The property owners were very cordial and made every effort to ensure that we lacked nothing during our stay. In addition to the printed directory of attractions, activities, beaches, etc. located in the cottage, the owners provided their personal take on things to do in the area. Very helpful! All-in-all, we felt this property was by far the best we have stayed at in roughly 10 years of exploring western Michigan. We highly recommend the Shipwatch Cottage and offer our thanks to Kellye & Bill.

Great fall getaway!

The location is fantastic!! The scenery is beautiful!!! The cabin is exactly as advertised and more! Lots o’ little touches that make you feel relaxed and at home.😌 And definitely the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO we’ve stayed at! Definitely be back next year!!!!😁
