You can feel the stress leave your body when you arrive at this quintessential New Hampshire paradise. Evergreen forest surrounds you as you enjoy nearly 4-acres of wooded property and over 100 feet of waterfront on beautiful Messer Pond, while only being minutes from the convenience and ambience of New London or Sunapee.

This four-season home is the perfect location for a family get-away. Only 11 miles from Mt Sunapee, you can ski all day and then enjoy the wonderful dining of New London or Sunapee through the evening during the winter. Summer brings new opportunities to swim, kayak and fish on serene Messer Pond.

Warm and welcoming for family gatherings and entertaining, the living room, dining room and kitchen flow together with a vaulted ceiling and lovely views of the property and pond. There is a large deck and beautiful gazebo off the main living space, complete with great outdoor furniture and a gas barbeque for grilling. The kitchen boasts new appliances and all the comforts of home with a kitchen dining area and breakfast bar. The house is outfitted with smart TV's and/or cable throughout. If you must do some work, although we don't recommend it, there is excellent Wi-Fi throughout the house!

There are 3 bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the first floor. The master bedroom is private with a comfy king size bed and large master bath with a soaking tub. The second floor is private and can be closed off with a door. The newly built out second floor has a generously sized 4th bedroom with a king-sized bed, a media room, and a full bathroom.

A bonus loft off the main living area enables you to sleep an extra teenager or two, or you can use the area for arts and crafts for the young kids. We also provide a queen air mattress in case you need to sleep more!

There is a full 2-car garage to park cars in during the cold, snowy nights. We also have plenty of outdoor toys, including kayaks, a canoe, stand-up paddleboards, and tubes for sledding in the winter.

Buddies Golf Trip

House was perfect for the 8 of us. Great kitchen/dining, the deck was a perfect hang out, and there were a lot of options for the lake (canoe, kayaks, paddle boat, etc.)

Great get away

The house was beautiful and the rooms were cozy. The small town of New London was nearby snd had a cafe called Tuckers which hsd a great breakfast. We were able to fish and kayak on the nearby pond. It was a great getaway

Beautiful House

We had a wonderful time during our stay. Our kids and friends spent much time at the pond fishing. Had an issue with TV in master bedroom but Robert was more than responsive to get issue rectified. I would definitely consider staying here again if I return to New London.

A Special Place

Our far-flung, extended family gathered at this large, lovely home to celebrate the life of our matriarch and couldn't have found a better place! Rob is an excellent host and has equipped his property with everything needed for an extended stay. Check-in and out was simple; responses to questions were prompt; instructions were clear. The pond is perfect for paddling and swimming. Good location to all that Lake Sunapee and area have to offer. Highy recommend!

Great House and Friendly Responsive Host

We've stayed here a couple of times. The house has a great layout for the family, is not far from the Mt. Sunapee and the grocery store. Most importantly, the host is responsive and accommodating. We've stayed here two years in a row and are considering making it an annual tradition.

Relaxing Stay

Robs place is great! Very spacious and clean with just about everything you need. Just a very short walk to get to the dock which had a paddle boat and kayaks to use, all in great shape. We personally love messer pond, it’s more like a lake with beautiful views, great fishing, and is quiet and peaceful. Hopefully we’ll be back again soon!

Daughter's wedding

Great place, had some problems at first but the owner was very responsive and we had a great time! Beautiful home! This was the perfect gathering spot for the pre-wedding festivities and for family to gather. Would stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

A newer well appointed home. Spacious with many nice features. A great winter ski house for a group. Nice in summer too, but Messer Pond access and water frontage is NOT for young kids. Quite swampy and weedy.

Multigenerational getaway

This home was close to perfect for our trip family of nine, ages 7 to 77. There were enough beds, 3 full bathrooms, and the dining table was large enough to fit us comfortably. It was located in a quiet, private area yet only minutes to the grocery store, restaurants, and nearby attractions. Everyone especially enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, paddle board and even a paddle boat. The property, its amenities and location did not disappoint. We would consider booking again.

Beautiful, immaculate home with all that we needed. The pond was lovely and we appreciated the boats and water toys. The place was roomy and the deck and gazebo tray places to hang out, especially with the umbrella up on the warm days. The only surprise was that the home didn’t have central air. The listing doesn’t say it has central air - that was my error in not reading more carefully. The upstairs bedroom was air conditioned and that was essential there. There were ceiling fans in all the rooms which helped and it was hot in the house when the outdoor temp rose into the 90s. However - we loved being there and recommendation it for family vacations!

Perfect!

This house perfectly met our needs. There was a play area for the kids, a large dining table for the whole family, a wonderful kitchen, and plenty of comfy room for the adults. It was spotlessly clean and beautiful. The house and furnishings were in great condition, but not too precious/fragile to be used. The access to the pond and the kayaks and paddle board were fantastic. We felt private and secluded, but it is only a few minutes to shops, restaurants/bakeries, and grocery. The beach at Little Sunapee was wonderful for the kids. Nice hikes were nearby. The owner and management company were very responsive. And there were fireflies!

Wilderness Immersion with Comforts of Home

This home is situated next to Messer Pond in the woods near New London. Easy access to town, restaurants, shops, grocery store and more. Home was very comfortable and clean with ample space for large family. The outdoor screened in gazebo was amazing for a pre dinner drinks and appetizers. And access to kayaks, canoes and paddle board at the pond was a huge hit with the teens in our group. The theater room upstairs was a great way for the teens to have a separate hangout space. We rented a boat at Lake Sunapee and topped off a long day with a family cookout back at the house. Perfect way to spend the holiday weekend - we will be back!

Lake house get away

Our family enjoyed staying at this house. The 4 bedrooms plus loft and three full baths fit the 6 of us perfectly. The host left a welcome book with activity ideas we enjoyed including a dinner restaurant, a nearby beach, and the local playhouse. The dock has an 11'4" paddleboard, a mini paddleboard, a large kayak, a medium kayak, a ride-atop kayak, and a 2 driver paddleboat, all of which made for good times on the very calm and quiet pond. Note the pond is a short walk down some stairs, across a small street, and down a trail, and only a sliver is visible from the house through summer foliage. Host was accommodating of our dog and the area is dog friendly. As with anywhere near a pond in summer, bring bug spray! We would stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect Stay For Our Family

My family stayed in this New London home for a few days over the summer, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. Not only was the home incredibly clean and spacious, but it had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. This house is in a wonderful, private location with a dock and water view a few steps away in the backyard. We also enjoyed coffee and breakfast in the gazebo, as our 1 year old ran around. There were beach chairs, life jackets, and everything you could need to enjoy the warm weather. Additionally, the upstairs apartment area and movie room made the perfect spot to relax and put our little one to bed quietly, while we enjoyed some down time. I can’t say enough about how perfect our visit was, and we truly hope to be able to come back again. I can absolutely see some hiking, exploring New London, and visits to Colby-Sawyer in our future.

Wonderful long weekend getaway in New Hampshire

We had a a WONDERFUL stay at Rob's house! It was larger than we realized so we had plenty of room to spread out. We had 2 families away for a ski weekend. The house was big and cozy at the same time. Every things was so clean and the beds were very comfy. Our group especially loved the fireplace, the theatre room and the backyard during a snowstorm for sledding! We enjoyed the little thoughtful touches (maple syrup! wine! body wash!) The house is a short trip to Mt. Sunapee where we had a blast skiing! Easy to run out to the grocery store as needed. The hosts were super quick to get back to us on everything and so friendly! We were so lucky to find this rental just a few weeks before our trip and really lucked out. We loved it!

Family Christmas

The home was perfect for our family Christmas. A few suggestions: king size sheets for upstairs bedroom. They went with a queen size flat sheet as their only sheet. More kitchen dish towels. More kitchen sponges. More kitchen serveware (only one serving spoon and fork). The property management company was very responsive when we called about the slushy driveway that was quickly turning to sheer ice They came and plowed, sanded and salted, then came back the next day as well.

Winter Getaway

This was our second stay. Plenty of privacy in a nice neighborhood. Although our party was smaller, the home offers plenty of space for 2 families with children. The open kitchen, dining and living room space allows for good family time. The open loft is a great play space for children while allowing the opportunity for adults to monitor what’s going on up above. We have yet to use the upstairs family room- but it would be a great for space teens to hang. An added perk was having use of the 2 car garage. Easy unloading/and packing and not having to clean the cars off after a storm. The driveway was plowed when we arrived even though snow had just stopped falling shortly before and was plowed twice during a larger storm on our last day so we had no trouble leaving the next morning. Just a short ride to Mt. Sunapee for boarding, as well as a hospital and market. Host and property management team very responsive to questions.
