The house is located in one of the most traditional, beautiful and safe neighborhoods in Mérida, "Nueva Alemán". The colony has ridges with beautiful trees such as flamboyans and golden shower. The house has a beautiful pool that was painted with the root of a tree that the Mayans called "Chukum", this pigment causes the color of the water to be greenish as were the old Yucatecan hacienda. We have fiber optic internet exceeding 185 MPS so the house is ideal for remote work

Beautiful spot, attentive owner, amazing house.. what more can we say. When arriving, the owner Francisco had a wonderful local cake for us on counter, and the house was just perfect for the 3 of us. Lots to do and explore in a short trip but many memories made. And would highly recommend for anyone looking for the perfect house in a great location! Thank you Francisco! Maine, USA

Absolutely fantastic!!

The property was fantastic! The pool was wonderful! It was a lot bigger that what it appeared it be in the pictures online. Excellent communication with the host Francisco. The AC units in the bedrooms were great. The airflow throughout the house was good during the day. Nice quiet neighborhood. The upstairs patio area was really nice at night. Really close to stores and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to visit again!!

David, Thank you for your review. The pool was designed by my son who is a great arquitect and the pool stairs has the same design as the Chichen Itza pyramids. As you mention the petite restaurants at Parque de la Alemán are amazing and very close of the house. You are welcome back anytime.

Loved this place! Great owner too!

We were able to get early check in and late check out because of flights so that helped alot. Neibhorhood was quiet and felt safe. We were happy to see a fresh cake and fruit on arrival and it hit the spot since we hadnt shopped yet for food. Slept well with good darking curtains, enjoyed pool and cooked lots in full kitchen. My friend who stayed lived it too and she askedif she could leave a review also! Any concerns were quickly answered. Great renter! Made me want to do better with my rentals :-)

We had a nice time...everything was like it said .Francisco was fantastic he really went out of his way to help us in any way he could my husband and i have no complaints. Francisco helped us with a medical condition.he made appointments and made sure we were looked after.his compassion is sincere and hes the real deal..he was prompt when something wasnt working right..we left mexico with a new friend and looking forward to returning

For A Great Time

Francisco was our host. He was wonderful in every way. Answered any text requests generally in less than 10 minutes. Spoke great English. Offered to set up excursions for us and even set up a pedicure and manicure at a salon near by. There were snacks and fresh fruits left for us upon our arrival They were wonderful and appreciated. I am definitely giving Francisco and his home a 5 star rating. Thank you Francisco. David

He was extremely helpful. When I fell and broke my wrist he took me to the clinic, stayed to do the translation for us and only left after we were seen to. After we got home, he came over and drove us to a mall so that I could get the brace that I need for my wrist. Then he drove us around the area by the house and pointed out the shops, stores etc. He was always available to answer any question we had, When we had a small problem with the hot water, he came over right away to see what was needed, it turned out to be that we needed gas. The house was as advertised, very nice and clean with lots of the things, dishes, utensils etc. we needed. He had even put a lovely chocolate cake in the fridge for our arrival. I highly recommend this house to anyone interested. It is in an ideal location and close to a lot of stores. When I return to Merida I'll certainly rent this property again..

Great spot depending on expectations

This was my first trip to the city and I chose a place where we would experience daily life in the oldest neighborhood in town. This provided us with the opportunity to meet a number of people who were very wonderful and our hosts were incredibly accommodating. The purpose of my trip was to spend time in the house and not just seeing sites around town. If your purpose is the same then you should be aware there are few screens and the mosquitoes will come visit on a regular basis. We arrived and the fans were dirty as well as a number of things that most people would not pay attention to unless they spend a great deal of time in the property. The hosts were wonderful. They responded to every request we had for more water or anything that needed to be handled when we were there. However, we were not told there would be a regular pool cleaner and that the shower is dangerous for people with issues standing on a slick floor. The neighborhood is a traditional neighborhood in the city. This means the dogs will bark anytime from 5 AM until 9 AM and then they start again at midnight until around 2 AM. The house itself was quite nice. It just needs to be updated for modern standards and expectations. Personally, I would not stay here again because I am now in a different location in the city and it fits my expectations a bit better. However, if you do plan to use the home as a base location so you can tour the cityor the surrounding region that it might be a great spot.

The guest asked me to rent the house for an additional month outside VRBO to save money, which I did not accept. The result of this rejection is this unfavourable comment. I will appreciate you reading the other comments, all 5 stars, to have a better idea of the place.

Great Experience wonderful host!

Francisco welcomed us in home with some cervezas and a pizza since he knew we would be arriving late. So thoughtful. He was there to show us the home and made us feel welcome. Home was stocked with all we needed including toiletries, shampoo, fish soap, aluminum foil, purified water, we didn’t need to go to store to but anything but what we ate. Neighborhood felt safe and was quiet yet had baked goods, ice cream trucks and even a mud icons wonder neighborhood during our stay all adding to the Mexican immersion we wanted. We had to reuse some towels so I would suggest having more bath towels available but there is a washing machine on site but we didn’t see it until last day. There is also a grill. The small plunge pool was refreshing and the rooftop terrace was a perfect place for early coffee or late night cerveza lounging. Internet was fast and steady. The ac in bedrooms were very cool while rest of home didn’t have Ac but having breeze come thru windows was sufficient and comfortable. It’s about 20 mins from the plazas you want to visit. We visited nearby Valladolid so didn’t stay in home full week but due to the great bargain we received we didn’t mind at all. Only recommebdation would be to have a book with tips for us foreigners with apps like Rappi and some of the local nearby eateries. There’s a nearby home where we found dome micheladas preparadas we absolutely loved we just added our beer. What a great way to just relax at house. A blue tooth speaker would be a great addition too but other than that tv, internet and kitchen was all great. Thank you for a great stay.

Très bon séjour

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. La maison est ptopre, spacieuse avec une cuisine bien équipée. Nous avons beaucoup aimé la piscine et le toit terrasse... Le quartier est calme. Communication parfaite avec Francisco. Tout était parfait !!!

The house was perfect. The neighborhood was awesome. The one negative was the clumps of cat hair floating in the pool from the neighbors cat.

Thank you very much for visiting us, you will always be welcome back. In the neighborhood there are several trees called ceibas, this was a sacred tree for the Mayans, the seeds are wrapped in a kind of very thin cotton that can be confused with cat fur. The pool water is replace before any guest arrive to the house and has an external vacuum service so the water is always clean.
