Wonderful week at Sleepy Hollow !!

Reviewer Comments: We had our usual wonderful time at Sleepy Hollow, the only minus was our extremely nasty encounter with spiders in our unit... much more than usual... and we had to deal with the very strong musty odor which is easily alleviated by airing it out a couple of days before arrival especially if the unit has not been in use.

Disappointed!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The outdoor amenities of Sleepy Hollow were enjoyed by our 2 daughters, orherwise the stay was disappointing. This was our first time staying at SH and we booked very last minute so there was not much to choose from, but our unit “c” was outdated, dirty, and smelled musty. It was obvious it was not cleaned anytime recently. The steps leading to the door for full of dirt and webs, there were spiders and webs and a dead decaying frog on the kitchen floor, the sheets were and felt dusty, the floor dusty, and it smelled old and wet. A recent cleaning would have taken care of all of that. I certainly would have expected cleaner, more updated housing for the price. Bikes were available which is a nice amenity, but clearly not taken care of. We would certainly not stay in “c” again. One shout out to Rhonda who was very pleasant, otherwise others at front desk seemed less enthused to help.

The only issue was a fairly strong musty odor. It took a day or so with the windows open to dissipate. Despite that we would definitely rent this again.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My dissatisfaction is with the particular unit I was in (Stonebridge C), not with the resort itself or the other units on the resorts grounds. Specifically,1. Although a washer/dryer and dishwasher were advertised, the unit had none.2. The refrigerator was 20-30 years old and needs to be updated.3. Both window air conditioning units were old and work poorly4. Observed some mold on the calk sealant around the bathroom sink; and the sink (or at least the toilet seat) needs to be replaced5. The bed has no nightstands6. In general, whereas every other unit I visited had updated appliances and other amenities, Stonebridge C was dingy and in desperate need of updating.

Nearly great

Reviewer Comments: The grounds, facilities and staff were all good.The beach, and hilltop view above, are spectacular.The pool is clean and large.The unit we stayed in is nice with some updates (flooring). The kitchen and bath are a bit dated but clean and ok.The only frying pan in the unit was our only real complaint. It is not non-stick, and is a quite old stainless version, that is warped and does not sit flat on the electric stove. This simple aspect needs an upgrade.The unit has window AC units in the living area and bedroom, which were sufficient on the hot (nearly 90) day we were there.

Cottage C Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Absolutely loved the resort! Cottage C was what was expected and got the job done. Refrigerator barely kept anything cold and had to be adjusted constantly to prevent food from going bad and a/c units don't have a thermostat so the room temp was all over the place. TV didn't have YouTube TV as stated on the sign in sheet. Will be back but will for sure stay in a different cottage.

A week at Cottage C at Sleepy Hollow

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second year at Cottage C - and it was a great week! The only suggestion... it needs a good "bug" spraying. We had quite a few spiders vacationing with us... other than that... everything was great... the cabin had been aired out nicely (which it had not last year) and was clean and ready for our stay! The front window blind could use a repair as it is quite difficult to raise and lower with the tiny string that is left ... but other than that no repairs needs that we could see.

Great wweekend escape, even better location!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked last minute for a quick weekend getaway. Was looking for something with Lake Michigan beach access. Sleepy Hollow is a hidden gem with great amenities, beach front and awesome condo rental units. We stayed in unit C because of the comfy King Bed. The unit is equipped with all you need for a longer stay if necessary. I could go on and on, the website does not do justice to the grounds and facilities as they are even nicer than what is depicted online. Our only wish was we had booked a few extra days. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and helpful. We will be back!

Another Fantastic Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the stay was great. The grounds and pool were beautiful and clean. Day one on the beach we had to smell and see quite a few dead fish, but by day two the crew had cleaned them up. Unit C is perfect for two adults and two children. My mom and daughter stayed in the twin beds while I shared the very comfortable pull-out with my toddler. The unit was very comfortable and quiet. The only complaint about this particular unit is it has a musty smell that the other units do not have. We have stayed in many different ones. This unit is in a wooded area and seems to have been built at a different time. This one is nice and a great price, but not as fancy or updated as some of the others. I do recommend it for a family with young kids who wont be spending much time inside anyway.

Was not too satisfied with the office staff response to not replacing the beach volleyball net (we have a large group and play much beach volleyball~ had to go purchase our own)! We do love Sleepy Hollow, but feel the prices increase too much each year as the level of service provided declines!

Perfect vacation!

Reviewer Comments: Fabulous time at this great resort! Perfect setup for my own place and space only a door away from daughter and her family! Clean, well stocked, cozy unit!We will definitely be back next year to Units B & C! Grandchildren loved all the activities and never got bored. All staff were friendly and there to make our stay great. Resort just as pretty as the pictures! Close to downtown and 5 minute drive to grocery stores and attractions!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We needed a peaceful getaway for vacation. The staff was friendly. We saw how family friendly the resort and a good couples getaway. The beach is small but private. I really enjoyed myself. It felt like a home away from home. The only thing I recommend is to review the cabin pictures to make sure they meet your needs.
