Whispering Pines Retreat in the Smokies

Nestled in the trees, but just above the blacktop road for easy access, this comfortable home is just minutes from town yet quietly located in a rural area.

Featuring knotty pine floors and a sofa bed in the living area.

Both bedrooms feature queen size beds with an additional TV in one bedroom. Satellite TV and internet service are included. Linens and towels are provided along with a fully equipped kitchen, including microwave, toaster, coffeepot(s) and all the dishes and cookware you should need. There is also a propane grill for outdoor cooking.

Enjoy your visit in air-conditioned comfort or enjoy the spacious porch or sitting at the firepit. For cooler seasons, there is a gas log fireplace to keep you cozy at the touch of a button.

There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience.

Pets are welcome. (Additional fee.)

Enjoy easy access to this cabin located close Clayton, GA and to Franklin, NC, the Gem Capital of the U.S. with lots of Gem Mines to discover and so much more! Or wander our many antique malls and shops. This is your perfect summer getaway without having to spend a fortune! Whispering Pines Retreat is ideally situated close to Cherokee, NC and Harrah's Casino Resort; White Water Rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC), Hiking on the Appalachian Trail, extraordinary waterfalls and simply taking in majestic, scenic views. Enjoy shopping and restaurants just a few short minutes away, an old-fashioned train ride, or take a drive up the Cullasaja Gorge to Highlands, NC and explore Highlands while sightseeing and viewing the ultimate in rock formations and cascading waterfalls.

Looking for entertainment? Franklin offers a state-of-the-art Live Performance Theater (see www.GreatMountainMusic.com) with concerts and shows, as well as a movie theater - all within 10 minutes of the cabin. Shopping and Grocery stores just up the road.

This is a charming cabin. There is a porch that would be nice in warmer weather. A fire pit that we didn't use but was nice. Out trip was quick to visit family in Franklin. The fireplace was so cozy with the freezing temps outside and everything we needed was available.

Great Location, Great Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was exactly as described and had all of the necessities. We loved the porch and outdoor area. It was the perfect place for some family time and we also enjoyed whitewater rafting and golf nearby.

We loved our stay at whispering pines. Loved the quietness of the area, the fire pit, the back porch, and the ability to take our Golden fur child. I could not have asked for any better. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the area and are looking forward to returning in the future.

Great location. Although we spent little time in the cabin, it was all we could have asked for.

Great Cabin and Location

This was a great cabin for our small family of four! It was very clean, and had everything that we needed! We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit with comfortable seating around it, as well as spending time around the gas fireplace indoors while relaxing there. Highly recommend this place! Great location near Clayton, Highlands and Cashiers!

My husband, Jesus, and I, along with our daughters Isabella and Emilia, are from Homestead, FL. There, we run a successful landscaping and design business that Jesus began when he was 22 years old. Always lovers of the outdoors, both Jesus and I have loved to vacation in the Smoky Mountains throughout the years. We started out exploring the Smokies via Harley Davidson motorcycle, but later found that it could be even more fun to do as a family in our 5th Wheel RV.

While vacationing in November of 2020, we happened upon the quaint little town of Franklin, NC and fell in love with the area. Since then, we have acquired this cozy little cabin that is offered as a vacation rental for other travelers to enjoy when we are back home in Florida.

In July of 2021, Jesus and I came across the opportunity to purchase the Franklin RV Park and Campground located just a couple miles from our cabin. Though new to campground ownership, we are confident that our emphasis on quality and consumer satisfaction will create an environment where travelers can feel welcomed and respected.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us, whether here in our cabin, or at our RV Park down the street.

The Whispering Pines cabin is so conveniently located. You are close to absolutely everything, yet when sitting on the deck overlooking the historic home across the street, you somehow feel like you've gone back in time 100 years to a much simpler, less hectic, and less populated time. We have decorated the cabin with warm and welcoming accents and have found it to be just the perfect retreat after a long day of hiking, rafting, sightseeing, and exploring.

The outdoor fire pit area is the perfect place to gather with friends and family. Light up the fire and grab your sticks for roasting marshmallows for S'mores. We built the outdoor area ourselves after purchasing the cabin and have absolutely loved relaxing under the stars after a full day. On warm summer nights, you don't even need to light the fire; Just sit around with a glass of wine or a mug of cocoa and recount the day's adventures. You're sure to enjoy as much as we do!
