Welcome to Mountain Gem Hideaway! Relax and unwind at our dog friendly, 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin nestled on a hilltop in scenic Cowee valley. Enjoy stunning sunsets and mountain views from the deck. Perfect for a romantic holiday getaway, honeymoon, family vacation, or weekend retreat.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin nestled on a hilltop in Cowee Valley overlooking some of the prettiest mountains in Western North Carolina!

Description
Newly constructed in January 2023 with custom finishes, Mountain Gem Hideaway is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin nestled on a hilltop in Cowee Valley overlooking western North Carolina mountains. This beautiful 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is the perfect spot for couples to escape and recharge! It's the perfect place to relax after a long day of adventures. Access to the cabin is paved roads right up to the front door. So you don’t need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Mountain Gem Retreat is only 7 miles to downtown Franklin, 23 miles to Sylva, 24 miles to Bryson City, and 35 miles to Cherokee. The possibilities of fun are endless. Come relax on the covered deck and watch the sunset or in the 5 person jacuzzi after a full day of hiking. Show off your cooking skills both indoor and out. The Mountain Gem has a spacious kitchen with stainless steel appliances and is stocked with various cookware for the chef in you to enjoy. If it’s BBQ you prefer, there’s a custom built fire pit and BBQ area just outside below the deck with a gas BBQ grille (propane always included), Adirondack chairs and picnic table for outdoor dining in the fresh mountain air.

A few things to note: The property is located in a small community but still offers privacy. We have Starlin for optimal streaming and wifi. We welcome dogs and there is a strict NO SMOKING policy inside the home.
We ask that you dispose of your tobacco trash in a water bottle!

Host was very helpful with area information and home information. The new house has many amenities you will enjoy- ex. a towel warmer! Great view from the porch. Comfortable bed with nice linens in bed and bath. It’s the absolute quietest place I’ve ever stayed. If you want to getaway and enjoy the forest in peace and quiet, you will love this home.
Rickman Creek is in the same area as the home. Cullasaja River and Falls are not far either.

This cabin is stellar. Very nicely decorated and cozy! 10 out of 10. If i had one complaint it would be the listing itself depics that its alone in the woods you have 2 houses close by but was still very quiet and private. No issues at all.

Great place to run away to

Absolutely loved this tiny home in the mountains. Everything was fresh and new and clean. The views were stunning. The location was quiet, but close to shops and gem mining. We look forward to renting this comfy cabin again soon.

Very clean and great views!

We love this property. This is our second visit. The house is new and very clean and nice inside. There is a back deck with a great view of the mountains. I have seen deer and turkeys from the back deck. The hot tub is great to get in on the chilly mornings and relax. I will definitely come back. Mandy the caretaker was very responsive and made sure all was in order for us.

My name is Kate and my husband Trevor and I live in Miami. We travel to North Carolina a few times a year to get away from the crazy city we live in. We bought The Mountain Gem in 2023 and our dream of owning a mountain home became a reality. We fell in love with Franklin and are so excited to share our home with you. We love hiking and being surrounded by nature. We wish we could come more often but when we can't, we live vicariously through our guests.
