The condo is large and the balcony views amazing. The kitchen had enough materials to get by (although they could be updated) overall, nothing to complain about.

Nice views

When you walk into Emerald Grande you are greeted by the front desk ladies who are so sweet and knowledgeable. After getting our room keys we headed to the room and our excitement quickly turned disgust. As soon as we opened the door a terrible musty smell filled the entire room. We decided to keep the patio doors open for a while to air it out hoping it would get better
 no change. We tried spraying perfume to cover. No help. My daughter found an empty medicine bottle in the room that we stayed in- not a huge deal but then wondered how clean the room was. We got in late so I messaged Vacasa at midnight about the issue and didn’t hear back until mid day on the second day of our trip. Room still smells and it won’t budge. Vacasa emailed and said they would let their maintenance team know. I made sandwiches for my family and a small black bug scurried across the kitchen counter. I ended up calling Vacasa after not hearing anything and they said they would have someone call me to set up a time to come to the room. That evening we decided to take matters in our own hands and bought car air freshners and clipped them on a fan that was in the room as well as sprayed other room freshners. On the 3rd day of our trip Emerald Grande called after 12pm and said the maintenance man was there asking what time we could meet. We were in Okaloosa island and I asked if 2:30 would work and that didn’t work for him. Our trip was 3 nights and 4 days so I told them to forget about it.

Nice unit with great views


Unit had great views, nice accomidations. The only downfalls were being able to only set the thermostat to 70, it would not cool the unit down very well on our 90+ degree days. Also, the unit next to us were smoking and the smell would somehow come thru the HVAC system and we could smell it every time they were lighting up.

Nice property, but ...

We enjoyed our stay, but there were many items you would expect to find in the unit that weren't there. The kitchen wasn't well stocked. They had a large size frying pan that no matter what you'd use everything cooked in the pan would stick. I wanted to fix mac & cheese, but no cheese grater nor a casserole dish. Didn't have a vegetable peeler. Also wanted to fix some mashed potatoes, but there wasn't a mixer or beaters. So, had to go out to Walmart and purchase one myself as well as the other items mentioned that weren't in the unit. Came down with a cold at the end of our trip, but no kleenex to blow your nose. They had several kleenex box covers under the sinks, but no boxes. The day before our checkout there was another unit doing renovations constantly all day, which gave us all a nice headache. Complained about it to the front desk, but was told there was nothing they could do. That didn't set very well! The unit itself was very nice with awesome views. They did have plenty of towels. I had received a few emails from Vacasa before my trip as well as during our stay. The emails before our stay had offered us to stay an additional night for just under $100 plus taxes and fees, but no mention on what those would cost. The emails received during our stay offered a late check out time for around 2pm, but didn't mention what that would cost either. I clicked on the link to that email and the only options were to purchase or cancel, no price.

Destin birthday

The property was great other than a few minor things. A curtain was dropping down from one of the windows, a foot rest was broken on one of the barstools, and a lot of the bathroom fixtures were loose. The views from the condo were fantastic and I would definitely stay there again. I would highly recommend this condo.
